i needed this, i lost everything many times over, and starting again from scratch, no friends no social life nothing, been taking losses for years, hopefully everyone reading this and myself, lets make it!
To actually feel what it is to lose that means you have won before. And if you claim to have lost multiple times over you have to had a few wins. Study the wins and try to repeat it again. It's not luck if it has repeated in the past, you just forgot how to win.
I think most high achievers carry this feeling. I look at the wins mostly but my mind is trying to make the best outcome of every situation which makes great opportunities as long as I am able to joogle family and near friends meanwhile. A big motivator for me is a closed community of only high achievers. Is it possible?
@costasgeorgiou5015 that's an interesting and twisted perspective of what he said. If you're just reading the comments, I can see how one might take things out of context and try to make sense of it. I'm not saying it doesn't apply... but I also know we often say things "about ourselves".
@@selfretired3025 well I'm part way threw it my mobile keeps ringing....... Also I reread it now and I'm off sorry I don't know how I thought it was "your" not "you" so I thought you were saying your not being 100 percent to you cause your fit. That is what I get for doin too much at one time sorry.
Exactly! Also, a lot of people have, unfortunately, grown cold/rude in their ability to be “genuinely” happy for other people’s success, or good fortune.
They’re also just more focused. Allen Iverson said Kobe Bryant was just a different dude. While he and most other players went clubbing, Kobe would be working out or practicing in the gym.
I find it has more to do with themselves. People who follow the rules and are still miserable, cant fathom that people who build their own path and do things differently end up more fulfilled. Plus success is usually a byproduct, which really drives them crazy.
It's a balance. If you are a people pleaser, then yes, the temptation is go the completely opposite end of the spectrum. We do want to give of ourselves in a relationship; fulfillment comes through that. So yes, being yourself 100% is a great goal, but you will still hope that there are those that love that 100% you.
“Reminder that if you want to be exceptional you are going to be different from everyone else that’s what makes you exceptional . You can’t fit in and also be exceptional both are uncomfortable. When you fit in you have internal conflict because you are not 100% you. When you are exceptional you have external conflict because everyone sees you as different. PICK one. When your friends start to say you have changed remember that’s because they do not know how to say you have grown.”
Most people will distract you from your mission. Everyone is going their own ways, sometimes they're going nowhere and happy to drag you down into the bucket...conscientiously or subconsciously, it will happen around people if they aren't where you want to go.
Really insightful discussion on the loneliness of high achievers. It's often overlooked that strategic networking can alleviate that isolation without compromising productivity; connecting with others facing similar challenges can create a support system that also serves as a sounding board for new ideas.
Absolutely true! Makes me sad that people think improvement comes from comfort. Half way through 2019 I became my childhood dream of a professional knifemaker. It’s been nothing but challenges, failures and discomfort for almost 5years but I’m happy!

The feeling of rejection when you are alone and have that sad thought, just take it casually as a though and be fearless bcz you did something to make yourself accountable.
See the good for you..a failure or rejection always makes you more greatest and makes the win more joyful.. We are all exceptional in our own ways. We are all the same, yet we are all different. It's not about fitting in, but about being grounded in being yourself.
@@runswithraptors I would add that Ester Perrel has a good modification to that statement. She says you learn who you are by being with other people which is true because your perception of yourself isn't the same as what others might see after they live with you.
I don’t know Chris. Nobody says that stuff in eulogies even if they were predictable and normal. The mortality framework is mainly to assess your priorities not to hate on everyday folks.
I use to do a game with myself way back in the 90’s when people went to night clubs and danced and got layed . I would call it “ getting binned (aka rejected ) in 10 minutes. I would time myself 10 mins or get a mate to time me and I would approach a girl I liked the look of and just go up and talk to her and ask her for a dance 💃. It’s a facing rejection and it makes you more mentally stronger. I would get rejected 2 or 3 times but would get a bite on girl 4 or 5 and I would get that dance 💃 and al lot of the time I’d get much more. I never got to 10 rejections. This is such a good adrenaline rush and great for your confidence. Rejection does not kill you it makes you stronger . Women like confident men and walking up and talking to them makes you attractive to them even if your not there type they appreciate it because you have the balls to go over and approach her. I remember just being yo scared to approach a women because of the feeling of getting rejected. And one night I approached this chick and yes she was cool and I didn’t get any where with her but I felt so fking proud of myself just by going over to talk to her I was buzzing. You have a point, however people listening to motivational interviews of Chris and Hormozi talking about exceptionalism, most likely are taking chances at growth.
True loneliness is when nobody co-operates with you, nobody acknowledges you, nobody visits you. When you are always wallpaper in everyone elses existence. Not everybody in this place is treated the same. Meritocracy pales before Appearances...

That pause from Alex at the start right after Chris's words was powerful. Like he was re-living and remembering all the people who had doubted him.

Yeah that pause, silence & his facial expression in the beginning was extremely powerful

“For me, I was more miserable trying to make everyone else happy than I am now with everyone else unhappy.” - That hits hard.
It’s good that he’s less miserable now. Although still miserable.
People always talk about wanting to see you achieve the things you want not until you do and suddenly they have a problem with you.
High achievers are lonely for a simple reason: Everybody is jealous/envious of your success. People want you to succeed but not more than them.
Exactly! Also, a lot of people have, unfortunately, grown cold/rude in their ability to be “genuinely” happy for other people’s success, or good fortune.

The dangerous part about going rogue is to be self reflected enough to still keep social feedback in mind so you don't become a lunatic. Fine line!
