  • Our family in Wyoming found a bargain on a wood stove that would be perfect for our tiny off-grid cabin. One problem - the stove is almost 1000 miles away from our home in Washington state. What if we combine picking up the stove with a surprise holiday visit?
It ended up being quite an adventure. We had to cross 4 mountain passes and 3 states (Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming) to make it to their Wyoming home. At times we had white-out blizzard conditions and very slick roads.
Once we made it back home, the next challenge would be getting the stove up to our mountain cabin.
