  • My plan is to get Ford Capri RS2600 cologne V6 engine running before doing any body work. And to get engine running I need to check Kugelfisher mechanical fuel pump first cause it could be showstopper for whole project.

Why are we mandated to run EFI? Kugelfischer mechanical injection stays in tune and had no ECU to go braindead. Mechanical injection is more reliable so over time I think it's emissions are lower. I wish auto manufacturers could ditch EFI and return to Kugelfischer mechanical injection. You tell me why not, ok?

I tell you why not: as I understand it from my perspective of owning two BMW tii ('72 and '74) BMW used the K-pump to develop power for a production car, not to satisfy emissions requirements since there were no emissions requirements during the 1969-1974 production run of the 2002 tii. Although its relative mechanical simplicity is desirable, EFI offers much more control of the injection quantity and timing, thus better emissions behavior.
