What tyres do you currently have on your bike? Do they perform for what you need?
Michelin pilot road 5. I love them.
Can I use them on my BMW K1100 LT ? they do have my size but worried about max load?
@@kevinkelley9030 hi kev, just come back from 3 weeks touring Spain in real hot conditions. Full luggage and 2 up no issues at all with load on the mutants. Great tyres
The OE Pirelli Scorpion II WITH 7500 miles.
got them on my husky 701, can shred in the rain with them class tyre. way better than what i expected
A note about OEM tyres, they are rarely the actually tyre they claim to be. They are usually a cheaper version designed specifically to be shipped with bikes from the factory, and will perform worse than the same tyre bought separately - you can check the factory code on the sidewall.
100% - the downside for me is that I've been completely put off Bridgestone as a result!
I really like the practicality of this review. Good amount info and straight to the point.
I agree brother great tyres I had them on a naked CBR 1000 Double R Streetfighter conversion I got just under 1000 Ks on it the bike and yes I love those tires, then I sold that bike , I now have an mt-10 which came with Pirelli Rosso 3 but I don't them in the wet, I have just ordered a pair of mutants and will be selling these second hand
They look amazing on a retro or a sport bike. These are 100% my top choice for retro's. Motorcycles of old had more interesting tread than modern road tires so these look great.
Agreed! And they happen to work pretty well too!
I use these tyres on my F750gs. The rain performance is amazing, very reassuring, even at high speeds, the only bad thing is that my fuel consumption increased by about 8%.
This looks like a keeper :)
Thx
These are the next tire going on my MT07.
Iam a Retro sprotsbike owner, love the look of these tyre. I just gonna put a green scaley wrap on the bike to match the tyre :D
nice!
Time for new tires on my Duke, and these just shot to the top of my list. I, for one, really dig the style.
They genuinely are great tyres!
On my list for my gt
Would be sweet for smaller adventure bikes like the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G310GS.
I have installed them on my 1290 Super Adventure S and I do love them. I have around 5000 kilometers, and they are still as good as new. The performance is exceptional. I get great cornering confidence out of them. Strongly recommended.
This comment has made my decision on ordering them for my 1290 super adventure s. Thank you my friend
How did they go over the last year? Thinking about fitting them to my SAS
@@1107jordanlego how have they been on your SAS? Any feedback?
@DCAT180 the sas I had experienced engine failure At a little over 1000 miles then had wiring issues after they replaced the engine so I traded it in before I could test the tires
I'm considering these for my Duke 390, i don't do off road but a lot of commuting and playing in the, not very grippy, roads around here.
I'm willing to give up some grip for longevity, but i'm worrying about their feedback and handling.
The "norm" around here are the Metz m5 & Brigdestones s22 but i'm afraid i will be eating them, esp. the rear, every few thousands of km
In my experience, the tyres have been excellent - though that is on tarmac! Longevity has been very good as well, though I wouldn't say they are the best on loose or muddy surfaces. Your experience may vary, but I'd recommend giving them a go.
I need to replace my tyres(nail at 3000km) on my Duke 790. Was thinking of these as I use it to commute and maybe cruise on weekends. Would you still recommend them?
100%!
Did you manage to cover many miles in wet weather conditions on these tyres? If so interested to know how much confidence and grip they gave you in the wet?
Hello! - I've used them extensively in the rain at this point. I ride all year round in all weathers and have never had an issue with grip. I hope that helps!
Do the mutant make a lot of noise or is it about on par with a "normal" road tire?
Hello - I'd say they are equivalent to any tyre I've used on the road. As I say, I had BT-023's on the bike before and they are no louder than those. The tread looks chunky but in use the ride is perfectly smooth and performance is spot on
How do they compare to Michelin road 6
great question! I haven't actually ridden on the Road 6's yet - according to colleagues, that is equally a great tyre. Perhaps a good subject for a comparison video...
Have on my GS Adv ,great 👍👍👍
Any thoughts about a ktm 1290 gt?
would have no reservations in recommending them 100% - looks like Fastbikes did a test on a superduke round the NC500 - www.cambriantyres.co.uk/fast-bikes-test-the-dunlop-mutant/
What kind of mileage do you expect from these tires?
I've done about 8,000 miles on these now and still plenty of meat left on the tyres. I mainly commute with the odd weekend rideout here and there, so your mileage may vary depending on your riding style.
Hi
Would you recommend for a BMW GS, road riding and touring ?
thank you
@Hat Bird Dunlop are great tyres think they suit all bikes
I want them for my K1100 Lt but worried about max load weight.
@@kevinkelley9030 I have heard people using them on touring bikes fully loaded and their experience has been just as good
would you say they "mutated" your bike for the better?
Heck yes they did! 100% recommend!
Are you still happy with them?
Definitely. It's been about nine months since I got them fitted and they are still great. No reservations in recommending them
How did they hold up?
Incredibly well - just getting ready to fit the replacements now. Must have done about 12,000 miles on them since 2021. I'm not a particularly aggressive rider so your mileage may vary. Highly recommended though!
do they slip in the wet/rain?
Not at all - plenty of grip and confidence in the rain. I believe they are even rated for mud and snow (the M+S on the sidewall) but I'm not that adventurous...
@@grant5377What does it mean for a tyre to be "rated" for mud and snow?
@@banzobeans it just means the manufacturer thinks it is more capable in mud and snow than a regular tyre. It doesn't require any certification or testing for them to say that though!
Unfortuneatly they dont make a rear narrower than 150 which rules them out for many bikes! Come on Dunlop get your act together and make them in a full range of sizes!
En duo ? Chargé ?
J'ai bien peur que nous ne stockons plus ce pneu ! :(
Only downside is the price!
I wish someone who actually leans the bike over would review these tires.
😄
