Hi ProGuitarShop Crew, I very much enjoyed & learnt a few bits & pieces from this & other videos you've posted. Keep up the great work for everybody won't you.
First, there was great reviews, then, great videos too, and now there are pedal review and guitar lessons. Just the better idea for selling pedals I've ever seeing. Congratulations, keep it up.
These actually are helpful. Not purely from the lesson end, of course. I'm sure there have been countless RUclips demos for each song Andy's done a lesson for. They ARE, however, very useful for hearing some of PGS's products in a practical, non-demo setting, seeing how they behave with actual playing.
I've always played that overdub riff on the G and B strings, if I remember right Page does too on the Song Remains The Same video. If you're stuck playing both parts you don't have to go as far up and down the neck that way.
Actually, listen to the beginning of both the studio version and Andy's version again; there is a slight variation due in part to the fact that Andy plays 2 guitar parts combined so he can't let part 2 ring out like on the recording, but he also comes in too soon with part 2 where normally there is only the rhythm guitar playing along with the drums and bass.
My ears can only tell me so much when I'm listening on RUclips through a pair of headphones. Some minor intricacies that really come through you can probably really only hear in the room. Though of course, PGS has an amazing recording setup.
Looks like it may be a Vintage Sunburst, Les Paul Classic. Possibly a Les Paul Traditional. I'm leaning towards a classic though, because on my computer the inlays appear to be greenish in color.
+IronOrePickaxe HAHA WHAT? Not even possible kid.. there's no way you'd hear the guitar in the tubes of the amp distorting if that was true... I dont even think it would make sound..
It was into a Neve preamp, which is also a huge mixing console... The sounds of that equipment have been recreated in the JHS colorbox... expensive though
I apologize in advance if this has been asked multiple times. We've learned that those pickups are the Seymour Duncan Hot-Rodded humbucker set, could we please glean some details about that particular Les Paul? Standard? Year? Appears to be Desert Burst. Very nice! Thanks!!
Is it possible that Jimmy Page uses some sort of echo in this song? especially for the fills on the G and D strings? Anyway, I like to play it with a tiny bit of delay :)
The Dirty Little Secret MKIII does sound killer, but wondering why you didn't use the Catalinbread RAH for Jimmy's tone? Unless the RAH restricts itself to that one show at RAH in 1970?
Pro Guitar Shop demos be like “Hi. I’m Andy, and I’m gonna show you a $399.00 pedal. I’ll be playing my $5,000.00 Fender Custom Shop Strat through a Dumble amp you’d have to sell a kidney to buy. Anyway, here’s my clean tone…”
I bought a few pedals from PGS. Still have the DLS. This is one I will never sell. Thanks Andy for all you did with PGS.
Andy, I have watched your videos for almost 6 years. And all I can say is that: YOU HAVE THE MOST AMAZING JOB ON EARTH!
u r CORRECT..
Oh man, that MKIII totally nails Page's live tone. Nicely done, Catalinbread / Andy /
The guitar's finish makes it look really elegant

Getting me back to my roots...Great job
Another classic.....many thanks PGS keep up the good work.
Would love to have seen this riff with the RAH pedal!
I love PGS demos!! Would love a transatlantic team up one day!!
why does this comment have no likes of attention?

my favourite riff of all! at least somebody plays it corectly. thank you, pgs!
Thanks for bringing the fender back

Looks higher up the neck on SRTS video to my eyes.
you are doing a great job mate.....and most of all over a great band...!
love these PGS Andy lessons

Thank you so much for the lesson!!

Thanks again...great tune!
Awesome Guitar !!
I love Andy, he should be the CEO of this company by now.
time to get my hands on that catalinbread
nice lesson ,thanks
nice rock and roll
Thank you, PGS for lessons! How about early Zeppelin tones with Retro Channel Fuzz? :)
Thanks for this.
Time to buy stock in Catalinbread.

obrigadooooooo! abraço brother!!!!!
Fun Fact: Page never used an Amp for this song in the studio. He plugged the guitar straight into the mixing board.
+IronOrePickaxe HAHA WHAT? Not even possible kid.. there's no way you'd hear the guitar in the tubes of the amp distorting if that was true... I dont even think it would make sound..
Jordan What page did was something called 'DI', or direct interface. It is possible to do.
***** And where did you hear that??
+Jordan It is true. Jimmy was very skilled in the studio.
It was into a Neve preamp, which is also a huge mixing console... The sounds of that equipment have been recreated in the JHS colorbox... expensive though
nice mullet!!

awesome...U R rockin!
I actually expected you to use the Catalinbread RAH, but oh well, the video was awesome anyway!
Dat hand movement
very good
very nice
Do you remember when people constantly complained that Andy should make tutorial videos?
Yes! Thank you! :-)
RAH or DLS better for that Zeppelin tone? Amazing lesson.
Will be Super Lead for Jimmy.
Did you remove the bright cap from the DRRI vibrato channel? Thanks
im looking for the tone king amp demo that you guys did but i cant find it.

more!

Not sure what crazy vulgar dude below is talking about...this looks to be the accurate way to play it. Thanks!
Are there other amps used than the Fender DRRi?
Anyone know what brand/gauge of strings Andy uses here?
Page plays clean, just like Angus. The distortion is all marshall.
good
Which mode? Super Lead or Super Bass?
nice
anyone know the les paul model and colour name? :)
Simple, we were going after his more famous Marshall tone.
does anyone remember when PGS did useful stuff?
Too much gain, but a great lesson none the less!
solo?
Was there Aston In the tempo in the first few seconds, or is that just me?
Probably hasn't been played that clean since it was originally recorded.
Or when it was recorded ;-)
👍👊✌️🇺🇸
Why doesn't PG sell Gibson?
Catalinbread guy waaaaay into the occult and Aleister Crowley. Just look at the artwork on his pedals.....personally creeps me out.
give me my gems :O
nasılsın canım :)
Pro Guitar Shop demos be like

Haha! But to be honest, the amp is a run-of-the-mill Deluxe Reverb reissue and a 2008 Les Paul Traditional.
3:22 dude gives me a finger, cause i cant play it :( I`m a drummer tho, i dont care :P
That car commercial ruined this song for me
Bitchin!
.......................
Your overdub section is super confusing.
wish he would talk little more bout the original equiptment bands used at the time of creation.
tobacco burst
*a drop
What do you ears tell you?
Take the effect off, it'll be easier to follow the notes
