He has such a unique style, so conversational, yet so intense. So agile vocally, yet so tasteful and simple in the delivery. Singing to him was as easy as breathing is for us !
it is very different in a good way. the way he acts and sings is incredible. Ray was one of the greatest singers of all time and this cover is one of the most beautiful in the history of covers.
and not just for his ryhtm he had the blues, and one of the greatest voices you'll not to mention his soulful singing, he sang with true complete sincerity he sang how he spoke and still was fantastic! he was himself and genius and an ordinary man.
This suits Ray so well the way he did this song. I personally prefer the beatles version because it gives me the more sad feel that I look for when I listen to this song. I still like this though don't get me wrong Ray is the best thing to happen to the piano since Beethoven.
I heard this version on a Jazz station back in the 60s. I thought Ray wrote this. Obviously I was wrong. I like the both versions. This one was really dramatic. Almost as though I could see the story in my mind.
I Absolutely Love This Version but I wouldnt say its out doing the Beatles on their own song because without the original I wouldnt be able to here REAL Magic that is THIS Cover
You can practice as much as you want, but this is a God-given Gift!!! 😳PS when you’ve got the guitar don’t forget to add the comedy routine! I’m sure there’s a successor out there somewhere, but I haven’t seen him/her! 😳❤️
Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding had been Lives in a dream She waits at the window, wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door Who is it for? Well, ah, look at all those lonely people Ah, now-now, tell me where they all belong
i have notived that. he hated that elvis always covered songs from black ppl. this blind guy covered 7 songs from only 1 band alone, beatles. double standard
@Carthsting Hi Carthsting I really like Lil' Richard for his raw and unstoppable energy, it is very contagious. It's a party favourite, because you can hardly sit still.
The melodics are so far out on this. It sounds amazing but you need to know the beatles to almost map out the song. Never forget the beatles never forget Ray either
he started out on a show with britney spears and christina aguilera on disney when he was a kid, then when he was a teen, magically this disney- oriented pop band shows up called nsync( not unlike our present day miley cyrus and jonas brothers ;)) really all he really needed to do after that was just stumble in the right direction to become as rich and famous as he is today. as for the black eyed peas, theyve been together for only 15 years and theyver been running cheesy remakes for about 5or 6
The way Charles melodically reinterprets the line “look at him working” inspires me every time I hear it.
Look!! Addim'werkinNa!
Paul McCartney brought me here after saying this is one of his favorite versions of one of his records.
Paul said that Ray Charles version of Elanor RIgby was his favorite.
Imagine being Paul and getting paid to rate/review other versions of your song
@@allenmcdonald1878 That's a thing? :0
Thats why im here
@EsotericSolitaire Lord knows Ray's not talented enough to write it himself.
Nope liar
This is probably the coolest cover I've heard of this song
Check this one out. I don't know these guys it's just my favorite. ruclips.net/video/zwgLG-PHe6w/видео.html
This, Jacob Collier, and Aretha Franklin. Amazing artists on an amazing song.
The background singers make me think of the Greek Chorus in Hercules, lol.

He has such a unique style, so conversational, yet so intense. So agile vocally, yet so tasteful and simple in the delivery. Singing to him was as easy as breathing is for us !

Sounds so dark and beautiful at the same time, my favorite version of this great song.
it is very different in a good way. the way he acts and sings is incredible. Ray was one of the greatest singers of all time and this cover is one of the most beautiful in the history of covers.
This is so perfect it makes me shiver! The beatles we're proud!!!!!
I did not think that I could love this song by anyone other than the Fab Four but this was special.
Brother Ray... Speechless . ...So much soul and love
I love how Ray would add little spoken parts in between verses of songs.
'He turned to me and he said Brother Ray......' Just brilliant!
yes, I too!
All the lonely people
* ad-libs
I would have loved to see Ray's process as he discovered how to turn this song into his ...
And Ray would have loved to see
This gives me James Bond vibes 😂
How I've never seen this is beyond me, especially since it's one of my fav Beatles songs - just phenomenal.
This is fantastic. Chorus is particularly well done.

Great cover I expect nothing less from Ray :D
The Beatles and Stones loved black early 60s music, nice to see Ray returning the favour..
Brother Ray breathes life into this song.
Mr. Ray Charles, my full respect and admiration to you, RIP, your memory shall never be erased.
This adds (or reveals) layers of meaning from the original. I was just introduced to this on Sirius Radio, Beatles Channel! Great!
THIS is the best version in my view.
hands down best cover
I was so impressed listening to him cover Ring of Fire and now this!!!
This is weird in all the right ways.

Ray Charles could literally sing anything! Sometimes better than the original group or individual. 💜❤🌹🙏

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding had been
Lives in a dream
She waits at the window, wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?
All them lonely people
Where do they all come from?
Yeah, all them lonely people
Tell me where they all belong?
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, oh Lord, ah, look at all the lonely people
Listen to this
Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?
I heard him say
Ah, look at all those lonely people
Where do they all come from?
Eternity, he said
Ah, look at all those lonely people
Ooh, where they all belong?
Oh, look at all the lonely people
People, oh lord, people
Ah, look at all the lonely people
People, oh yeah, people
Wait a minute
Eleanor Rigby, she died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
And Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walked from the grave
No one was saved
And the man said
Ah, look at all those lonely people
Where do they all come from?
Eternity, he said, brother Ray
Ah, look at all those lonely people)
Where do they all belong?
I want to know now
Ah, look at all the lonely people
People, oh lord, people, yeah-yeah
Ah, look at all the lonely people
People, people
Ah, look at all those lonely people
Where do they all come from?
Well, ah, look at all those lonely people
Ah, now-now, tell me where they all belong
I have researched or Googled this before. Very interesting stuff. I am not the first.
This is so many people, in so many lives, in so many places and times.

AMAZING!!!!!!
@Carthsting Hi Carthsting I really like Lil' Richard for his raw and unstoppable energy, it is very contagious. It's a party favourite, because you can hardly sit still.
Piace di più quando la canta lentamente resta una canzone struggente i Beatles fanno delle canzoni che restano immortali
Damn, Ray...
One of the rare occasions where someone totally owns the song of another artist like Reznor's Hurt got owned by Johnny Cash
Genialisimooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
las coristas le aportan una magia inexplicable
Awesome cover of my Favourite Beatles Song!!!
Also worth checking out versions by "The Four Tops" and "Bloodrock"
Great Post!
Church. Remember Church, when the lowly were exalted?
Best version i've heard.
. So forget the Beatles.
The melodics are so far out on this. It sounds amazing but you need to know the beatles to almost map out the song. Never forget the beatles never forget Ray either
Go 'head, Brother Ray. Makin' it funky. Sweet
Awesome!
Bonita voz, bela cancao.
I understand Ray was a great musician by by my opinion nothing will ever come close to sir Paul McCartney singing this in his youth.
Just proof that "BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER"
Paul said that Charles' rendition was one of his fav Beatles covers.
Paul rates this version very highly, as do I Ray and the Beatles were are and will always be Class IMO
Brandon Lupo glad you added in his youth... He's a bit washed up now imo.
This is tight.
god-DAMN that's funky!
he started out on a show with britney spears and christina aguilera on disney when he was a kid, then when he was a teen, magically this disney- oriented pop band shows up called nsync( not unlike our present day miley cyrus and jonas brothers ;)) really all he really needed to do after that was just stumble in the right direction to become as rich and famous as he is today. as for the black eyed peas, theyve been together for only 15 years and theyver been running cheesy remakes for about 5or 6
I know I still can hear it
