@Rogelio Salvador thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Sometimes I watch these vlogs from Athens and I am amazed about how excited tourists are to discover the city, because as an Athenian myself, I am so used to seeing ancient stuff all over the place, so I don't even think about them anymore. Personally, I hate how chaotic Athens is and there's architectural mistakes about the infrastructure of the suburbs that are close to central Athens, but there's also something about this town that I adore and wouldn't change for any other town in Europe that I have been to. I guess all Athenians kind of love-hate feelings about Athens, probably everybody in the world has similar feelings with their hometown lol.
I used to teach on one of the Greek islands, and during that time I visited Athens two times. Frankly, I hated it - the noise, the manic traffic, the pollution, the bustle, the heat, the ugliness of the city. However, before then, years ago, I bought a coach ticket from London to Athens on the 'golden bus', which took three days for us to get there. It was an appalling journey, but what sticks in my mind is that when we finally reached Athens, one evening I and another English guy were walking through the streets near to the Acropolis and saw the door to a restaurant that led upstairs to an open balcony. We sat at a table with the sun coming down, a balmy breeze blowing, candles being lit, good food, the last light falling on the Parthenon. One of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Robert.
This was such a fun day you guys! 😃 All those views were just so amazing. Athens is pretty great. Can’t wait to explore more of the city with you both. 🙌 - Trevor
From a historic pov most of the western civilization is based in greece, greece has so much to offer in every possible way tho, I really love greece, awesome place.
We visited Athens on our honeymoon 9yrs ago--it was so cool! We were only there for one afternoon, so we did all the tourist spots, but there were lots of cool things to see. It's fun to see what things you guys decided to do. The people were really accepting of us and nice if we had questions, too, when we were there. We received more attitude in Mykonos.
6:04 Manos Hatjidakis music. Probably the biggest composer in Greece and one of the best ever in Europe! Great video guys, you found some great spots in Athens and your food video was nice too! Greetings from Greece!
Ah, Athens is one of my favorite cities (well, Greece in general!), watching this video brought up such good memories! I went with a study abroad group in college, and when we reached Athens, my professor made us hike up the hill to Philopappos to help combat our jet lag, and while it isn't too bad of a hike, after a nine hour flight with no sleep in 24 hours, it was rough! So beautiful though! If you guys go to the island of Crete, I highly recommend the adorable town of Chania, Knossos (the palace of Minos, which is where the myth of the labyrinth and the Minotaur came from), and you guys should also try Corfu! It's so different from the rest of Greece! The Achilleion has such a cool and tragic story behind it! (If you guys want some more ideas, my channel @setinstone99 has some travel vlogs I had to do for my class!)
Yeah it is really fantastic, now is the holiday season so millions of Athenians are on holiday so its a bit more calm but its still so alive. I love all the bars and restaurants everywhere and the outdoor terraces.
@greg oscar there's the guy who got his wife humped by a Greek, again. Lol ,get over it buddy, its getting really annoying having you trolling every video about Greece.
If you want a really awsome view over Athens, you have to get out of Athens itself and head to Kesariani Monastery on Mount Imittos. Then you follow the road towards the TV antennas. Once you get a bit higher, the Acropolis looks like an ant! Athens must be the only European capital with such a tall mountain nearby. It is a pity that tourists never go there.
Another absolutely brilliant video! Arm chair living through you for the last few years, but about to embark on my own round the world journey. You two inspired me to quit my job and to Live the Dream! For that I will be eternally grateful. Thanks.
Those Jail cells are the place where they supposedly locked up Socrates! This video brought back all the memories, guess I need to go back to Athens now.
Definitely explore mainland and northern Greece, also try it for your winter holidays, Greece is not a tropical country and it is so much more than just Athens and the islands, explore the seasons and you will find out much more about the culture.
Slowly trying to catch up on your videos :) Love the music choice in this one, the views are just absolutely stunnning and I personally am in love with greek food. The garlic and veggies... so good
Hey guys! Another great viewing spot of Athens is close were i live. Which are Galatsi's regional road and afterwards you can go up the Attiko Alsos(grove), it's basically the same big hill, for coffee and such over great views. There are 2 big places to sit. The first one is "Yades" and the second is called "Zeppelin". I recommend the first one. Younger local crowds, more new. Not the cheapest place but very good. At night there is music, you can drink alcohol and eat there also. Many locals, little to none tourists. Chill out atmosphere.Go with car or taxi. And i recommend to go at sunset hours. 💙🙋
Most blgs have roof top gardens, clothes lines and solar panels. As to walking, I like to walk on ancient sites barefoot, as did my ancestors. As to ''the hill'' locals walk it, not ride the tram. Beer 5 euro for half a litre - amazing value but the alcohol and cigars are so cheap there compared to Australia. Philopappos try Philo (you said it right) pappos. Break up long words usually in half and it is soooo easy. And most hotels have roof top bars
Hi you guys, for next time come down to Piraeus, which is the port of Athens. There are some lovely places to visit like Kastella, Passalimani and Microlimano, these are lovely marinas with great seafood restaurants and nightlife.
Once I wanted to be an arcologist. I am an artist. I had art and arcitecture lessons of course. However Athens never tempted me. The historical sights for sure but not the city. I am a sucker for pittoresk, quint, charming genuine arcitecture. I dont see it there. I am sure there is but I haent spotted it. 5 euros for a beer is very expensive. I lived in spain recently for two years. If a beer was over 2 it was expensive. Nice panoramic views tho. Thanks for the hike. :)
wow nice subs. I've been to Europe 25x's and Athens I know inside out. Should of started a RUclips channel lol. Nice places are all along the coast line from one side to the other. Greece is one of my fav places to visit. So many hidden gems tourist know nothing of besides what they are promoted. Some of best beaches and no wonder they get the highest amounts of blue flags.
When next in Amsterdam check out the cities cat shelter De Poezenboot. Located on one of the picturesque canal belts - the cats live on a floating house boat.
The once and only time I went to Athens my aunt (without asking and informing me) called family and informed them I would be there. We arrived at the hotel to may messages from cousins I had not met. They basically kidnapped me and my friend for most of the time we were there. Every morning we would leave our hotel and there was my cousin John waiting for us. He would drive us to their house and the day was spent EATING. We Greeks love to feed people to the point of stuffing you senseless. Only one day we were able to not spend time with family and went on a 3 island cruise (I called it our Gilligan cruise). It was nice meeting them, but because we had a limited amount of time there we didn't get to see very much.
Try peiraiki in pireus. View of the sea and my favourite spot for swimming in Athens. Nice cafes and fish taverns too. Also go to Χατζής mitropoleos street, syntagma for greek coffee and sweets
Allison is a cat whisperer, confirmed. Thanks for introducing me to another travel channel (that's at least six so far with your many collaborations). Food and drink are two of my favourite things (both in moderation of course), that is why I love this channel :D
Love these vids... Very jealous, I've always wanted to go to Greece. Am I right in thinking you said you are going to the uk soon? If you do you should go to the isle of white and or walk the Cotswold way :)
Athens is not a beautiful city, except the "old town" (area around the Acropolis / Plaka, Monastiraki, Psirri) but if you are interested in history, art and culture there is a lot to see. Great videos of Athens today! Beautiful! FYI Patreon not working.
Thanks! What in particular? Was one of the links to our Patreon incorrect? Was the site down?
Think site was down. Just letting you know. affected others too. I really enjoyed the views of the city I've always wanted to visit.
Do you recommend Athens? I’m going to be in Greece for two months and hoping to explore some islands, but heard such mixed things about Athens!

Hey there! 🙋♀️🙋♂️
well, i think you'd love to know that the "jail cell" you bumped into is supposedly the prison were socrates was kept. you wanna go back there now, right? haha...
Hey, why don't you use your own photos as postcards? There should be a way to have them printed on site or an online service that does that.
We've thought about that! But unfortunately it's pretty hard to order anything like that on demand while traveling.

€5 for a beer its very expensive.
Typically we would agree, but we expected to pay more at such a touristy location ✌️
josephine pisani if you think that's expensive in Iceland is 11 for a beer
fauxpiano V2 that's a lot.I'm from Malta and here it's not much €2 if buy it from a everyday shop and from restaurant €3.no one sell the same.Good day to you.
Beer is expensive in Athens in general.
it depends on the spot. In tourists spots its 5+, in other places you can find very good beer with 3+ euros
