- In this episode, we travel to Cobram, in Victoria. We stayed in our campervan at the local caravan park, where we give you a tour. We will take you into town and show you some of the things you can do when visiting. We share our pumpkin pasta recipe and check out the famous Big Strawberry.
Cobram is located on the Murray River which forms the border between Victoria and New South Wales with the nearby towns of Numurkah and Yarrawonga.
We hope you enjoy our channel. We enjoy part-time van life, creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) on Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla. The Fabulous Bakery Boys strike gold again ...those pies looked so good and i love the idea of a 'share' slice pack...we have to go gluten free now so you guys are our link to all the bakery delights we going to miss out on. Rocky road and vanilla snot block (not the custard ones ..yuk lol) were our favourites
Hi Guys, had a ski boat when I was 22 years old and used to camp on the river at horseshoe lagoon in Cobram. That was 40 years ago. At night we would cross the bridge into Barooga and have dinner and drinks at the golf club or the rsl club. Waterski on the river all day, sunbake and then bacon and eggs in the morning outside the tent on a gas hot plate. I bought a dog in Cobram, She was a blue heeler/red heeler/bull terrier cross. It was nice to see Cobram again so thank you.
In the 1980's Victorians would flock to the border to play the pokies because Victoria did not have them but NSW did.
ps I am still searching for the perfect sausage roll.
That sounds like it would’ve been fun going on your boat for a night out and then sailing back to your campsite. If I find that perfect sausage roll will definitely let you know. Beach is more known as Thompson's Beach, cafe is The Beach Cafe. Best cafe/bakery is Hungy Fangs.

I love Cobram. It was great seeing familiar sites. Last time I was there I stayed at the motel opposite the park you went to at the start of the video.

Cobram looks great for a weekend. We will be trying the Pumpkin pasta it looked really tasty. The slice pack looked delicious. Clever way to sell them. My favorite slice has to be Vanilla slices. However I do enjoy the Greek Galaktoboureko which is similar to vanilla slice.

Hey guys, great episode. I was at Willows 5 weeks ago with my wife and little Moodle (unfortunately he is no longer with us 😢). Great caravan park and I see the guy is still camping out there...he provided us with some of his red gum firewood. We had -1° mornings but the most beautiful days. Just new to your channel and loving the short trips around Vic.

Unfortunately, the paddleboat cruise shut down in 2022, due to operation costs. And before you swim in the river, make sure to do a blue-green algae check. The water is tested regularly and results are available online. It's mostly clear, but don't take others swimming in it as an indicator (people do dumb things or just don't realise it's a risk). A quick check beforehand will save you from getting sick.
For families, it's worth mentioning that Cobram also has a small cinema and nearby town Barooga has a sports club that provides mini golf, laser light show, dining and live music.
Aside from that, I love a classic vanilla slice.

I`ll be going up to cobram for 2 weeks from thursday of nxt wks. love the area it has a lot of places to visit and great river areas. the bakery you didn't go to, is the better one in my opinion. well have a safe journey and great travels.. My favourite things in bakeries are friand cakes and chunky steak/beef pies. I find the quality of food has gone downhill this past 40 years as all companies switch to cheaper and lower quality ingredients. A classic example is Cadbury chocolate and Arnotts biscuits. You could eat a whole packet of tim tams in the eightees and nowadays I cant stand them. The same applies to bars of cadbury chocolate. Shrinkflation is also well advanced, everything becoming smaller and ridiculous prices.
Well that's enough of the moaning lol It is good to see you guys making the most of the great outdoors, even in the winter.
Totally agree with everything you’re saying. Prices go up and things get smaller lol 😜 drives Adam crazy specially when it comes to chocolate bars. Thanks for watching our episode.
