If he had just gone to the Australian Embassy in the UK and applied for a visitor visa there they would most likely have taken on board that the conviction was a long time ago and if he hasn't done anything since they they would probably grant it and he would have sailed through on arrival. However he lied about it once before and then did it again leaving them no choice. 1:42:57. Now this man I actually have sympathy for. To a certain degree. As he says. Even though I understand that it is a serious case, Why should he be still held accountable for something that happened 40 years ago. That is seriously ridiculous. I mean, does this mean the man is now prevented from ever traveling abroad? He should however have declared it on arrival. In fact, he should have even known the facts regarding his former conviction before he left England. Now, on the other hand there is also the matter of him actually overstaying the conditions of his visa on a previous occasion by over two years and no... I do not believe his telling of the story that he just wanted to make sure his daughter has settled in and made friend and such. Sorry buddy, but that does not warrant a three year stay when your visa was clearly issued for only six moths. Why is it that I have never ever even traveled abroad, yet I am aware of all these regulations, yet people who often travel, seems oblivious to it? It makes no sense.
