98 silverado same part, after adding al little grease had to deliver a few love taps to get the upper to seat properly same under the hood . They made these parts fit a little tighter than what was conveyed in the video, but good work
Dude. Thanks for the video. That's the issue I'm having with my 96 Tahoe. I went through four gear box in one month. Finally I got the right one, but still got that play on the steering wheel. I was right on the cause of the play. But what you just video was perfect brother. Once again thanks. And I love your Tahoe. Lol. 👍
Hey Kirk, Thank you for the comments. I appreciate them. I use a pressure washer on the lowest available setting possible. I don't much water on very sensitive electrical components like your alternator or throttle body
@@jaywestfall3439 if you put a new steering gearbox on your truck and still have slop. I would change both the upper and lower shafts. It's gonna make a night and day difference
@RUclips305.... Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad that the video was able to help out. Hands down the best upgrade hands down for these trucks. You won't regret it at all....
Hey Charlie, it's the Sanden compressor from the 350 Vortec engines from 96-00 model years. That's the only thing that remained from the original engine
First off great video, very useful info. I'm installing a blue top and Borgeson (upper and lower) this weekend in my 1997 C1500. Just have a quick ?4u. How is the shaft holding up, and are you having issue with the shafts rusting since the shafts are exposed.
@Gilbo.... My shaft is holding very well. One of the best decisions ever made for my truck. What I ended up doing for my outer is I painted it to curb down any rust issues. But I think it would be more very light surface rust than rust through or rot out
Mr. Williams good evening to you. Actually I went a 91-95 Chevy C/K Silverado 2500 6.5 turbo diesel filter box. I wanted it to not only be very functional. But, factory looking as well.
Good morning, can you help me get the one for those same axles that you installed in your truck, but for me it's for a 99 Suburban 1500 5/7 engine, I'm looking for it and it doesn't come out, can you send me the link, I'll thank you very much, good day, I hope you answer thank you

Hey Jaime, I don't remember the part number. But used the one for 99-03 Silverado 1500 that has the 4 wheel disc brakes
Have you ever looked at the Cunningham Machine upper and lower shafts?
Yes I have bought their products on a couple of customers trucks. They make some good products
@lawjo1978 That's what's going on my 1998 C1500 ext cab short box along with a new steering gear.

Where did you get your a/c brackets
Had a buddy of mine made the a/c bracket for me. But since then they have bolt on kits available for these trucks.
