Karina, this is the best instructional video I think I have ever seen. You are absolutely, hands down, one of the best sewing instructors I think I've ever had the privilege of watching. If you decide to keep doing videos like this then I am going to disenroll from 2 other sewing instruction sites that I pay for and just join your patreon and stay with you since your instruction is spot on fabulous. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. The way you position your camera is amazing. I can see everything so close up. This is professional instruction at it's best. Some of the other videos I've watched from other sites will show us from angles that you can't see or make heads or tails of what they are sewing, and I am still left with questions ...I thank you so much for taking your time and trouble to make these videos for us. Please keep doing these videos. I have learned so much.
Thank you so much for the compliments. I think the way many sites film focus on the person talking the instructions while the machine is far away and the sewing can't be seen. I have prioritized the sewing with my filming. I have fun filming and I'm so glad you like the footage. Thank you.
You are my hero! I’ve been struggling to sew a V-neck with a facing on top of a center seam, but couldn’t get it wright. Your explanation gives me new hope to finally finish my shirt! Thank you so much 🤩
This video is very very detailed to the exact point. Thank you soo much. I have been sewing for over 20 years but I am still learning and your video was exceptional. Thank you once again❤
I'm about to finish my first garment. I'm very grateful to you, I'm taking my time if I'm not happy with the way something look I do it over- I will have a dress that I'm confident to wear to church. Thank you ❤ The workman is worth his wages...I'm glad to be a patreon 🙂
I just wanted to say that your videos are amazingly well done. Not only do you explain things fully, but your camera angles and close ups are so clear. Thank you so much for all your hard work!
Thank you so much 😊. I play with a lot of small cameras and have a small tripod right in front of me. This little trips allows me to adjust to really focus and what I want shown :)
I always love watching your videos. Your voice and accent is very peaceful. I love that you are very detailed and always explain why you do certain things. I am definitely going to follow your channel more. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the demo on the bias technique, it really helped. I've tried this a few times with not too much success. Your demo really cleared it up so thank you.
This video is so helpful and informative! One of the best videos I have come across. May God bless you abundantly for sharing your talent with us all, in Jesus Christ Mighty Name, Amen!
oh wow, to funny, i JUST finished making a Rhapsody top & thot maybe it would work with a facing! Thank you! Now I know!! Love watching your videos, sooo helpful!!
I rewatch this video every time I need to bind a woven v-neck, probably 4 or 5 times now. One day I'll be confident enough to do it without checking to make sure I remember how lol.
I love all of these methods. I have been looking for this instruction for months and here they are ALL TOGETHER IN ONE VIDEO. Excellent. I especially love the bias with the mitred corner instead of the short cut method which I've never liked. Thank you.
Just wanted to let you know how great your tutorials are! No skimping on techniques and so clear. Even though I've been sewing for a time, I still pick up great tips or am just reminded to take my time because it's not a race, it's about the results. When someone has a sewing question for me, your channel is often the first place I look for a video to send them.
Thanks for going through all these different techniques Karina. I wish I had seen this before doing a bias tape v neck for the first time as mine turned out super bulky 😢 I love the finish you get with your final technique so maybe I’ll just go back and redo it.
I love all your videos , Karina. This is perfect timing because I’m working on Love Notions Cadence with that neckline and their instructions didn’t help me with that. Thank you so so much!🤗❤️
Love this tutorial so much, Karina! You are so clear and concise and you answer my questions as I am thinking of them! ha ha. I also think your camera angles are THE BEST in the business (understanding that you cannot get 100% perfect videos on everything). Karina your are giving Master Class Level Instruction, even though I don't get everything yet. Thanks so much!
Thank you! You just saved me with the center front seam. I was sewing Butterick 5209 and didn't want a lining in bodice. So I drafted a facing and couldn't figure out how to sew the V part and get it to lay down flat! Thank you so much!!! Cheers!
I enjoy all your videos. This one helped me tremendously I am making the Emma kaftan from f/s linen store, watching this solved my problem with the neckline. Thank you. Be well friend. Sew on.
What delightful, crisp results! You are truly a genius with your methods and techniques! And your photography views are perfection! Soooo helpful! Thank you, Karina! 💕
Wow! Best V neck video out there, truly truly helpful for me as I failed at my V neck over and over. You explained it perfectly and helped to remove that bulk for me. Thank you for taking the time to make this video so very well and the closeup shots as well. Watching you actually sew up close was the magic for me!
Thank you very much, your instructions are so easy to follow and the result so precise. I’ve been watching you making so much in the past few months and enjoy your videos so much. Now I’m sewing garments for myself which I haven’t done for many years. So thank you very much.☺️🇦🇺
Thank you so much!! I absolutely love these types of videos. Perfect finishes that are not too fussy and very clearly presented. Love your presentations and all the information you provide. Incredibly helpful!!❤️
Excellent camera angles and explanations! I notice that you don't talk about pressing the seams before sewing the next part. Is that because it's not necessary?
That is a basic step I don’t film. I’ve tried to in the past and burnt myself with the iron due to the tripod getting in the way. I do however wait until it’s absolutely necessary to press seams (after sewing several of them). I don’t get up to press after every seam and with some fabrics, I finger press. With necklines, I will press at the end. I won’t press before under-stitching.
Thankyou, amazing! I will definitely be sticking to these methods when doing any v necklines in future, plus I will be watching along to this video while sewing V-necks, really appreciate your videos you are a great teacher with such incredible knowledge.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us 😊 love your vlogs they are very useful and you give us lots of information to help us with our sewing journey.😘
Hi Karina. I have a question: @10:42 when you say "I reinforced by hand", what do you mean? How did you use the longer thread you cut at the end ( about one minute earlier)? Hope you get to see my question. It was indeed a video with lots of practical info
Very nice teaching and filming quality. Love your videos. What type of interfacing are you using? What do you think about the non woven stuff? If you have to use which one are you using? Can't wait for the next video, I made the V neck raglan t from Friday pattern company ( free pattern for men) as a Xmas present and I totally messed up the V.
I use apparel interfacing and the light weight type. Not the craft one that looks and feels like paper. I can’t give you a brand because the one I can buy here is generic. You can see how I sew a V neckband in this video, although I will touch on knit V necklines in another video of this series:) ruclips.net/video/yO4AxlHqGEg/видео.html
You are an amazing sewist. Thank you so much for all your help with sewing!
This was SO helpful. I keep coming back to it. Thank you!!
I’m so glad :)
OMG this video on V neck techniques was absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much for taking the time to show us.
Thank you!! I'm making a Halloween costume in 2024, and this is really going to help!
Thanks for showing this....really well done.
Hope it helps :)

I needed to learn about block fusing for facings. Wow. You have helped me many times and this is another.
Block fusing makes a huge difference in the experience of facings .)
This is so handy. I think the bias versions are pretty too and require some practice, for sure. Thank you!
You're so welcome!

Hi Karina. I have a question: @10:42 when you say "I reinforced by hand", what do you mean? How did you use the longer thread you cut at the end ( about one minute earlier)? Hope you get to see my question. It was indeed a video with lots of practical info
Thread both threads (upper and the bobbin thread) in a needle and knot by hand. Not with the machine by back stitching.
Great tips! Love this kind of content!! Very informative!!!
Very neat
Is there an easy way to put a v neck on a stretch v neck band on a stretch fabric pattern.
I’m so sorry but I don’t understand your question, but I have a video about knit V necklines here ruclips.net/video/WlewgRBa7SI/видео.html
Hi Karina, are you using a knit interfacing when you make the skinny strips?
No, I’m using a non stretch interfacing for woven projects :)
Brilliance at 29:00!
Thank you so much 😊
brillant!!!
Very nice teaching and filming quality. Love your videos.
What type of interfacing are you using? What do you think about the non woven stuff? If you have to use which one are you using?
