I agree, Jaime did a comparison between the OP9 Pro and S21+ and declared the S21+ the winner because OP didn't have the price advantage it usually does, but that's because he selected the comparison based on price... OP9 and S21 are competitors, and OP9 Pro and S21 Ultra are likewise cometitors.
I didn't think you, of all people, were going to overlook the Pro video mode! ;). Tbh it's easy to miss but it's pretty amazing it's there and full-featured while 'Pro' iPhones and Hasselblad OnePlus's don't have it. Noticed it on the Poco F3 and it's crazy how good of a deal the Poco F3 is since it's so close to the Mi 11i, basically the same thing but with a 48MP sensor and an 870 chip.
@@SomeGadgetGuy I think I spotted it in the video actually, pick 'Pro' and then switch to video by tapping the camera icon next to the shutter button. I couldn't believe it when I found it on the Poco F3. It even has a LOG option.
I found that the SD888's GPU is basically a super overclocked 5nm Adreno 650 that's in the SD865. It has the same 1,024ALU's running at 870MHz instead of 560-650MHz in the plus. No wonder its impossible to cool and keep sustained performance. The whole SD888 is basically the same SOC with the only changes being a new ARM X1 core on a 5nm lithography. And the ISP and AI have got a nice boost but, that's it. It reminds me of the SD835. It used the same Adreno 530 as the SD820 but Qualcomm overclocked the hell out of it giving it just 20% more performance and they called it a 540. The Adreno 530 had 256ALU's and so did the Adreno 540. The only change was a node (die) shrink from 14nm to 10nm. To test this (at first) theory I even used a modded and ROOTed LG G6 and overclocked the Adreno 530 in the SD821pro which had the 4kryo cores running at 2.4GHz across the board and got it within margin of error in framerates and benchmarks. This was before we knew the vector ALU count that Qualcomm used. They still haven't disclosed how many ALU's are used in there little black box of a GPU but we now know. The Adreno 330, 418, 420 had 128ALU's with architectural and memory bandwidth changes up the stack. Then the Adreno 430 has 192ALU's and the Adreno 530 has 256 ALU's. Finally the Qualcomm started to up ALU's counts by 50% giving the Adreno 630 512ALU's and a 40% boost from the Adreno 540. At least with the 600 series they gave us an actual physical upgrade to the ALU count. Well except for the Adreno 660 of course. Its kind of a last hurrah for the 600 series. But still, the customer shouldn't have to suffer. That's why i stayed with the Adreno 630 in the SD845 until the SD865. The Adreno 700 series is supposed to bring massive gains in performance and up the ALU count by as much as 100%+. There gonna need to, If they want to compete with Samsung's Exynos 2200. With AMD Navi 2 architecture at the base its like using a desktop GPU on Android and even intel's iGPU the UHD630 crushes Android games like there 8-bit side scrollers. From earlier tests, it show the Exynos 2200's GPU smashing apple's out-house PowerVR derivative (fusion 2) A14 Bionic GPU by more than 100%. But enough of that. Last year i bought a oppo FIND X2pro as a secondary phone to the LG v40... Yeah, i know. I been running Android beta's but had to get back to LG. I need my music. So, i just bought 2 brand new fully Unlocked LG v60's with the dual cases for $600. I have some HD599's though, the 2 sets of klipsch Tm ear buds that came with the deal really sound surprisingly good. They also came with 2 all-in-one dongle's and stylus. The v60 is basically the only LG phone to hold an SOC's peak performance since the G2/G2mini with nVIDIA's SOC. The LG V50 could hold its sustained performance cause the super dense Vapor chamber but, LG set low thermal thresholds on it to keep things cool. The only problem with this is low GPU clocks at 50°c and micro stutter. I removed the Adreno 530's 50°c thermal ceiling on a LG v20 and could game on it without micro stutter up until 2020. Until games became more demanding. That shows just how far proper software optimisations can take the hardware. The SD820 was released in 2016 and in mobile that's more like a decade. Throttling every V and G series LG phone since the G4 and v10's SD808 caused reviews to look bad. Fear of Bootloops and heat that breaks the solder joints. That and thermal fluctuation is what causes solder joints to break. In the end, it was cheap solder that was the culprit. LG can still upset the smartphone game cause i won't be buying any other brand/smartphone for a while. I'll be completely happy modding and changing thermal.conf.files so the SD865 can run full out.

The only issue I have with Xiaomi phones is that their screens seem good, but after a few weeks down the road, my eyes start straining if I use the phone for a longer period of time. Never happened to me with other devices.
That could be PWM sensitivity (if you’re speaking about oled displays of course, otherwise ignore the whole comment), I have the same issues with latest iPhones and Samsung S20+/S21 ultra (I was fine until S10+, Android has Oled Saver app at least, it places a dark layer on top of display, therefore you can have a higher brightness, making PWM not an issue, but still a dim image, at the cost of some banding unfortunately). Mi11 (I don’t know about “i” variant) has really high PWM frequency, so it shouldn’t give issues. I’d suggest checking PWM values for the devices you used and verify if that could be the issue (frequency is not the only variable anyway, S21 ultra should be better than s10, but it’s not for me)
Other publications should crib your review style and philosophy. We'd get better quality reviews and better informed consumers. But IDK I'm only a snarky dingus.
