- Today I lose my mind and sanity building a small and simple wooden rollercoaster. Why the high stakes? Well, I decided tthat I would try and add realistic GCI-style wooden supports. Which, yeah, it's as tedious as it sounds. Not that this video is tedious though! Please! Don't go! Come back! I was playing Cities: Skylines while watching this, and had a large blank area I didn't know how to fill. Then I remembered, "oh right, I attended the Matt Lowne School of Decoration" and spammed trees everywhere.

This is amazing! I live very close to Quassy in Middlebury, and while I can't say you made it 1 for 1, you did encapsulate the feeling of the Wooden Warrior very well. Nicely done.

This coaster has such a nice vibe, it feels like it's right in the middle of a forest at some points. It reminds a bit of this place called enchanted forest, but less fariytale-y.

Nah, I prefer doing smaller-scale stuff. Probably because those are the sorts of theme parks I have the fondest memories of IRL, and I haven't got the patience to do massive stuff lol

That Parcel Service sounds totally legit, something similar happened to me I just had to give them all my bank information and now the package should be coming any day now.
It absolutely is a scam, Matt, and an extremely common one, too... Scammer Payback encounters this type of scam all of the time lmao.
I recognized it as soon as you said "based on a real coaster" (it's mirrored, though, and both the first drop and the turnaround dip in the middle of the turn and rise up again at the end).
It's so funny to hear Matt grasping desperately to name the droppable blade designed to make a clean cut and not thinking of the most famous type of all, which y'know is the name of a paper guillotine as well.
Just an idea:
If planet coaster has some sort of way you could save a 360 video of rollercoasters you could upload them to RUclips for people with VR

Maybe something related to eloo [probably butchered that] or perhaps some more "interesting" stuff like ike or dres.
Transfer track looks great, but at the moment if the switch track were to slide over either the switch track would collide with the transfer track or they wouldn't meet, or both. The angle of that joint should be the same as the joint between the main loop and the switch track, so that when it slides into place the tracks can slide past each other. That angle should also be the same as the path the track slides on.
2:52 imagine if there were roller coaster commercials and they were like this.
Also, could you replicate a rollercoaster from Linnanmäki (translation: hills castle / castle of the hill) from Finland? Unless when this episode was released th park is already done of course.

i live near that wooden coaster!! i went to quassi all the time as a kid and my entire family got coxsackie from the lake there once. the wooden warrior is really fast and bumpy, it hurts to ride

When dealing with fishy mail, take it to the post office and ask them. Never give out info if you are uncertain. Verify, google and ask questions.

i’ve also heard it referred to as a paper trimmer or my personal favourite, paper guillotine although i think that’s referring more to the big long blade than the little pizza cutter wheel, although a lot have both.
