- Hello and welcome back to another exciting instalment of "Adventure Woods" - the Planet Coaster series in which I build a theme park called "Adventure Woods"! Today is going to be epic, we build a massive B&M Flying Coaster through the forest, themed around a medievel castle and some pesky dragons. I really like how it came out, and I hope you do, too!

• Adventure Woods - Plan...
I forgor to post on Wednesday again 💀💀
imagine doing the same mistake twice
Pls stop
No worries I'll also miss some days I promis to publish a video.👍 Love the content.
its still in the last 1 hour 20 minutes of wednesday my dude. your fine lol
I see great potential to establish some form of Insider Joke releasing Videos calling out some random day of the week
As an avid Bad Dragon rider; I appreciate your commitment to using Air as the correct name for such a fantastic ride at Alton Towers.
Dude, im loving this rn, but im just jealous of how naturally savvy you are with some of the building assets. Most of my stores are wood boxes with some plants around it lol.
Yeah it's easy to get overwhelmed by the parts list 😂
Hey Matt, can we get a break from Adventure Woods? And instead have another CHRISTMAS THEMED PARK!!!
Honestly, I think that mini-series was my favorite. It felt so good. But I do enjoy Adventure Woods, don’t get me wrong.😁
27:10 "we don't want any Bad Dragon Riders" -Matt Lowne, 2022
💀
well thats too bad
It's weird to hear Matt make a joke like that. It's like when a priest walks in the pub.
@@TheHutchy01
well its on one of his podcasts so its not that surprising
Really looking forward to seeing the water coaster being created
I'm really impressed how much Matt knows about roller coasters.
just a little tip for b&m flying (and not flying) coasters.
generally, b&m dont like steep. their 0g rolls in particular are often very flat. id say some of the elements felt a little steep for what b&m would do, but i love the aesthetic!
Definitely not watching this at 1 33 am.
Keep up the planet coaster vids Matt
Mr. Matt Lowne, I don't think I have to say this and I told you last week on Wednesday but, I love Wednesday, it's my favourite day of the week, easily the best part of Wednesday is Matt Lowne's Planet Coaster series, I always look forward to that part of my Wednesday. Thank you Matt for making my Wednesday so amazing!
Thursday is my favorite Wednesday
I feel like this series is the Bude Tunnel of Matt's channel. Sure it's not what he normally does, but it's become one of my favorite things he does! Keep up the awesome work mate!
Yaaaay! Another 43minutes of MattRambling! I love this series so much!
Nothing better than waking up on a Wednesday *cough* Thursday and watching your series
Dang, next park you definitely need to export your fast forwarded video and do the commentary over that and it probably won't be so laggy. And then to avoid double compression you can do it all in the same project file and export the original with the audio :) I know this series is probably mostly if not all filmed but hopefully this can help in the future!
Matt, you're INFINITELY more important than some videogame. Don't get stressed, focus on that module and get it right 💪
I don't even know why I find this so entertaining. I don't even play this game. But your rambling just keeps drawing me in.
Read those reviews on bude tunnel, seems like a good reason to drive 6 hours to Devon
Yay!!!
As a floridian, the menton of Publix warmed my heart
Love how Matt opening up google chrome is just tradition now.
Ain't no awful place when a ✨Lowne Theme Park✨ is involved!
i love how realistic these parks are for beginners to build
Love the look of the station! And the coaster itself looks cool too
Matt’s low key a roller coaster enthusiast and I’m all for it
The more I watch the more I want to pick this back up and play!!!
Love this
Really love this series! Btw, I'd try to not leave the corners of the platform hanging (30:50), since torsion is the very first thing you have to avoid at flat plates. Not a problem, though, for little loads.
That cornwall tunnel story was amazing. I need to make sure to visit it if I'm ever in the UK
I love this series so much, I get hyped every Wednesday!!
In regards to KSP content, what about realism overhaul? I imagine it'd make some great rambling about suffering while learning to play it lol.
I also love how you said hopefully you don't forget a Wednesday, in a video where you forgot a Wednesday :p
Best 2 am video anyone could post :D
it is thursday my dudes
Sadly I will never get to experience the roar of Nemesis, but at least the Bude tunnel is still there for me to visit!
My favorite podcasts are around crashing channels. but in all honesty i admire your perseverance with this game. i tried it and its waaaaaay to tideous for me so thanks for sharing your neverending creativity! If however you need an idea for another park: how about a vertical one, the lore being its inside a mega city in one of the giga tower cyberpunkstyle
Definitely going to add Bude tunnel on my bucket list. Thanks Matt for introducing such a magnificent place!
+ That gantry support looks just fine - it's gonna be enough to support workers and their tools, with a few hundred percent of margin. One thing I want to point out is, you have horizontal support beams under the gantry floor, and having one longitudinal beam along the center, and having that connected to main columns with diagonal beams (like between horizontal beams and the columns) should make it even more realistic! In its current state, there doesn't seem to be enough parts that prevent the support from 'falling over'.
Also note that I'm just a student learning engineering rn - I'm no professional, I might be wrong. Anyone correct me if so!
Nah we used really strong glue when building it 👌
That negative G-Force at 41:48 could kill half passengers :P
I remembered the Bude tunnel slightly before you mentioned it. I don't remember why I knew about the Bude tunnel, as an American, but I must have seen it at some point in some RUclips video, but it's one of those bits of trivia that my mind has just decided to file away under "critical information" instead of "useless trivia I can just forget." Didn't know Bude was in Cornwall specifically, but I did know about it.
Hey Matt, I love your Planet Coaster videos I enjoy watching them a lot. But today i have to coment because the coaster you built with its theme and colours reminds me a lot of Dragon Khan a coaster built in Port Aventura Park, Spain, in 1995. Also a very old coaster as you see.
It is also a B&M coaster and also themed arround dragons. The difference are that this one is sitted coaster and that it is based arround China insted of medieval times.
A fun fact regarding this coaster is that, as you mention, the roaring of this type of coaster is very significant so a common legend arround here says that they decided to themed it about a fierce dragon because of the agresive and dragon roar like sound that produced, audible almost arround the entire park.
I don't know if this legend is true but it is so cool me inner child wants it to be true. What i can tell you is that your heart rating intensifies even before mounting on it, just by standing in line and hearing the sound of the coaster roaring like hell.
i have never been to a themepark (much less ride a rollercoaster), never played planet coaster nor watched KSP. still love this series :)
Yes, Trip Advisor is a international phenomenon, or something. Aka, yes, people use Trip Advisor in the US. Also, according to the “great” source Wikipedia, there are 9 Kmarts left with only three in the continental US, but I seem to have found Australia and NZ still have Kmarts. I believe in the same vain how Toys R Us went out in the US but the Canadian ones were owned by a different company.
I'm looking forward to the Home Bargains coaster...
The Coaster looks so cool
Bro two of my fav things on one channel, space and roller coaster
Also, as a ride engineer, that mezzanine support for the maintenance shed isn't great. It will work, but I wouldn't do it like that.
You can edit comments yk
Love a good upbeat "WEDNESDAY" ramble! Great to listen to your positive commentary of randomness, I'm from Britain and had no idea that Sainsbury's tunnel existed, thank you for opening my eyes!
On the subject of eyes, I had a thought and I know Matt is the person to ask - Does the Iris in your eye work the same as a camera lens aperture in respect to - When my human iris closes down, does my depth perception get wider? Just like a Camera lens' Depth of field widens when you close the aperture?
I could Google it, but I just had a random thought as I was writing.
While I can't answer in regards to what happens when your iris narrows, you'll need Matt (or someone else who knows what they're on about when it comes to eyes) to answer that one, I can answer when it comes to actual depth perception: short answer - no, long answer:
Your depth perception comes from your brain comparing the images from your eyes, and working out the difference. Essentially, your left eye will see whatever you are looking at appearing slightly off to the right, while your right eye sees it slightly off to the left. Your brain combines them and goes "it is probably right in the middle" it also cleverly looks at just * how * much off to each side it is, and works out how far away it is.
In much the same way that when you are driving or walking things closer to you appear to be moving faster than those further away, your eyes see things closer to you as much more different (compared to each other) than things further away. A tree in the foreground appears to be moving much faster than a hill in the background because it is closer, and you can think of your eyes as two cars, one slightly behind the other, getting two different ideas of where that tree is. This is because, much like those two cars, your eyes are in two different places on your head.
A fun little experiment you can try is to place something down, walk a step or two away (ideally with your back turned to the thing you placed down), close one of your eyes, and turn around to look at it. Stretch your arm out towards it, and you can tell that it is further away if your hand covers it up, but you can't tell if it is simply a miniature version of whatever it is and just out of reach, or a normal-sized one further away (or, for that matter, some kind of giant thing that is * very * far off). If, however you open your other eye, you'll almost immediately figure out that it is well out of your reach, as your brain begins comparing the two images.
So, in short, what matters to your depth perception is how good your brain is at "seeing" tiny differences between the images from your eyes, and how far apart your eyes are. (this is why hammerhead sharks look the way they do: to accurately determine the distance to prey at very long ranges.)
@@LMixir well reasoned and thorough answers on the internet?! impossible!
really interesting though, thanks :)
@@LMixir fantastic stuff, I hadn't considered that in terms of 'depth perception'
I was more thinking 'per eye' depth of field, but a really confusing experiment to play with depth perception.
I suppose that's a similar principle to the way 3D cameras trick the brain
I believe the sand is going in the rails, if a park wants sound proofing from the get go the track can be manufactured with sand in the rails, but if its desired post install they have to fill the spine because they cant open up the rails after install. Much more efficient to do it the rail way, much less sand required so alot lighter and dampens vibrations just as well as filling the spine does.
I will comment to support this and watch to the end. I love your rambling regardless of what you are playing.
It’s Thursday, my dudes!
There’s one coaster at my local theme park that goes into the woods and my first experience with it was at night. There were no lights out there, it was so dark I couldn’t see where the coaster was turning next even though I was pretty close to the front. I loved it, so cool.
Just managed to catch up with this series. Loving it so far Matt! Planet Coaster is such a deep game if you want it to be, I never realised.
I'm not here for the game though, I'm here for the A-tier commentary :)
Will have to visit Bude tunnel when I visit Spaceport Cornwall!
Now I kinda want to visit Cornwall to see this tunnel x3 You know what, you should really add this Tunnel to your park!
RUclips premium allows you to download video, so I download these videos and listen to them as a podcast during my commute to work. I am unsure of whether or not watching a downloaded video counts towards the view count, so maybe just add 1 to it when you see what your view see it 🙂
Also, I haven't really watched much of any of the episodes, so I'm excited to watch the final episode and see everything that I *haven't* heard you talk about building 😂
Every day I get on the school bus and I watch one of your videos, and even if I’m rewatching one it’s always the highlight of my day.
Bude tunnel, I hope to see it one day, cool video!
Hi Matt. Love your KSP and PC vids. A suggestion for your framerate issues for commentary. It adds another step, but should make it easier. Export a lower-res rough cut of the cut video, then watch that while you record your voiceover. Insert the voiceover in the final video and export. Hope that makes things easier.
Know exactly what you mean about nemesis track and path, sticks in my mind too… the roar is probably all the bearings requiring servicing lol
Went and watched Nemesis POV video looks fun, I like how it’s half in the ground, makes it extra twisty. I love Raptor@Cedar Point, Matt’s right it’s a fun style of coaster.
I have just been watching let’s game it out so this seems so calm! XD
Hello, late I know, but I do love this series :)
The series is certainly living up to the expectations of Mediocre! ;D Just Kidding, loving it as always Matt!
After seeing the title and thumbnail I’m immediately clicked and watched it. Loving these videos!
That B&M box track spine is notoriously noisy because it functions as a sounding board. They’ve actually filled some box sections with sand to deaden the noise.
Aaand Matt just explained it. That’s me red faced for commenting before finishing the video lol
didn't know matt plays planet coaster
i love you matt
Is Matt becoming a coaster enthusiast?
I've been posting RCT3 and PlanCo content on here since 2015 lol
@@MattLowne damn.
Guess I only had been suggested your ksp content
I wouldnt expect anything less of the british public than making a perspex tunnel the best rated attraction on tripadvisor
You’ll never know how I got this many likes
I just want to let you know you are a king 🐐🐐
True story, the technology to make the large scale formed perspex like that tunnel you mentioned came from experimental physics. There was a large detector that needed a transparent volume to hold pure fluid and they worked with the perspex manufacturers to develop the technology. I think it was the Kamiokande detector, but I don't recall for sure.
Yo manta is so good ong
I am really interested to see if this is a functional park at the end of this.
nice
Good video it was.
hows the masters going? been a couple months since you recorded this, right?
Got a distinction on the first assignment 😁 the main exam is in 2 weeks (so might not have much time to make KSP content lol)
@@MattLowne you got this in the bag, some random dude from minnesota believes in you
Last time I was at Alton Towers, I went on Nemesis (loved it) but the Smiler didn't exist. If I was able to go now, I wouldn't go on the Smiler, not after the accident from a few years ago. Air is probably my favourite from Alton Towers tho
OMG this Looks so coll can you make a bilding tutorial?🤣
I know you have already finished building this park but can you build a b&m wing coaster in one of your next parks if there will be a next one
Label this as a podcast, with planet coaster footage in the background, maybe with your face recorded for extra engagement. Might be better for your views and we still get to watch this :)
Hi
It's Thursday again my dudes
The bued? Tunnel don't think I've been to that Sainsbury's yet new bucket list item lol
Did you forgor do smooth out the track? Or did I just miss it?
Its Thursday my dude
Hello matt
Did you ever correct the alignment on one of the earlier coaster's transfer tracks? (I don't remember which one exactly - maybe the wooden one?) Its transfer track would not work at all in the last state I remember it being in, because the track would have to slide through itself to get between positions.
Trip advisor is from the US, but I think it's mostly designed for Americans traveling, so it's a lot more popular in other countries.
Your channel ain't gonna collapse if it's up for me lmao
we dont want any bad dragon riders in this park 💀💀💀💀
It's already 2023? I missed December/Christmas! :P
It is Thursday my dudes!
noice!!
It is Thursday my dudes
Eyyyy Mad Matt the fat cat of parks & rockets budgets! Big oof I didn't watch last weeks Pathtool Roaster in time to leave a comment but I gotta let you know a secret here...
...brace yourself, it's a big secret, okay!
Here goes: RUclips is fecal matter level at giving you stats for what's up with your videos, no kidding you shouldn't waste a second of your precious life worrying that some "average viewer" is gonna click off after 10 minutes on these videos, the only ones that are around after 10 minutes will watch to the bittersweet endcard plug and the only ones that leave before that were just some sailors lost at the internet sea who accidentally ended up on one of your videos and figured it wasn't what they were looking for because they have garbage taste and don't know quality content even when it's right in their face. Keep up the ADHD chatter, we true cultured sensible peeps love it!

It’s Thursday my dudes
8:10 I'm amazed how choppy that is. I'm doing some video editing myself, and even if I speed up to 10x speed, it plays back at a smooth 60fps. (Using DaVinci Resolve Studio 18)
There are like 3 K Marts left 😂
How dare Matt post late
Watch on every Wednesday
