Eating a vegetarian diet doesn't entail having concern or compassion for animals at all.
"Giving the land rest every 7 years" doesn't entail having ethical concern or compassion for sentient beings whose home is that land.
If it did, there'd be a ritual advocated for in the Jewish doctrine to honor the land for the sake of the sentient beings every day......but there isn't.
THIS IS THE SAME THING.! I'm a vegan and a Israeli and i think all the time about the animals who are in the same situation!

First!! This video is amazing. What I get out of it is that I need to change my argument. Rather than just saying "Being vegan is easy.", instead say "Veganism is easy, but sure you make a point. It is much easier to be careless, and not compassionate. That's not morality though.".

Nobody in this conflict today was even born in 1948. At most they were a child. Why should a 25 year old Israeli give up their family house to some random Gazan that was born and raised in Gaza and never spent any time in Israel?
@@davidramms You put "Pro-Israel protestors" in the title. So don't be surprised when people purely comment on something most people generally care more about than veganism, which is the conflict in Israel-Gaza.
Now, maybe you personally care more about veganism than this conflict, but if you are sincere you can acknowledge most people don't feel the same way. So this really shouldn't be a surprise.

Excellent conversation. One point I would like to make is that we don't have to wait for everyone to be vegan before we think about how to better take care of plants and the land. They are not mutually exclusive. They can, and should, happen simultaneously. For me personally, taking care of animals and the planet are totally mutual and compatible aims. As Guardians of Earth, with a holistic approach, we cannot separate the two issues. They are inseparable. David, you are an absolute gentlemen with excellent communication skills. Your manner of engaging with others is an exemplary example to us all. Thank-you for this great lesson :)
Animals are going to suffer either way. You can say less suffering but still there will be animal suffering.
@@MustardSkaven Of course, it's an unfortunate truth that there will probably always be some form of suffering. The point is to eradicate as much suffering as we possibly can. Less is surely better and preferable to more.

You are absolutely right that all those protestors should be vegan. They have enough compassion/drive/motivation to stand out there in the cold with their signs for the innocent.. They can extend that to all beings, its really that simple.
Yet quite ironic. I am a bit unsure at what they are trying to achieve, as there have been several instances at Israel being able to receive back all of their hostages, and what has been asked in exchange is a complete Ceasefire in Gaza, and the return of children and women that Israelis have kidnapped, of which are being held in Gaza. There are thousands of children in administrative detention, children put in military court, some thrown in detention without trial.. This figure is over 15,000 people. You have now every country that has abstained / called for a ceasefire, even being demanded by the UN. Israel has yet to do so. If they were to, they would have gotten their hostages back.
My point being, what is the goal of these protestors? These hostages, whilst I’m not agreeing with it, are taken as a form of protest in regards to the oppression that Palestinians face, the thousands of Palestinian hostages, the stealing of land, the ethnic cleansing, the list goes on. And the ironic part being, those leaving israel after being held hostage, come out scarred for life. Those that have been returned from Gaza, have shook hands with their kidnappers, and even complimented them. Say what you may, it is the first time I hear such a thing. It tells a lot.

I'm from Israel, Jewish and vegan for over 5 years, was like "oh no David is probably gonna talk about Israel-Gaza stuff he doesn't understand and embarrass himself (like Joey did several times on his IG\YT)" but you actually managed to only talk about veganism, big props.
Pro tip when talking to Jews about veganism (particularly if they're religious) is that you can talk about how in the garden of Eden everyone ate plants only.

Make them give it back to the original indigenous people of all of the North African countries. There are 25 Arabic speaking countries. Ask yourself how did that happen? They are called Arabs, which means they are indegenous to the Arabian Peninsula. Jews come from Judea. There is no archeological evidence for Arabs originating in the Levant. Even the word Palestine is a Latin word. You know, the language of those white Roman European colonizers? Gaza comes from the Hebrew azza. There's never been a sovereign Arab Muslim nation called Palestine. Even their first official leader, Yaser Arafat, was born in Egypt. The Arabs in the region didn't start to identify as Palestinian until 1964. FYI, the letter P does not exist in Arabic. They say Falestine or Balestine.

There are over 2 million Arabs who live in Israel with equal rights. They participate in all aspects of Israeli society. They are cops, doctors, teachers, judges, and more. He compared the "gas chambers" used to kill jews and the "gas chamber" used to kill pigs.
Why? Suffering is suffering. I personally do not equate humans and other animals, but it shouldnt be difficult to understand that the suffering of innocent animals, especially when it is completely unneccesary like in animal agriculture, is morally evil.

This is just idiotic. I mean animals are meant to be eaten for goodness sake and comparing animals with human lives doesn’t make any sense at all.
Can you advise who decided 'animals are meant to be eaten'? I don't think any human has the right to decide that one sentient organism exists specifically for the consumption by the human. How is that fair? Put yourself in the shoes of the non-human animal and you tell me how you'd like to be treated. And don't give me that 'animals are unintelligent and don't know what's happening to them' garbage, you've seen animals experiencing joy, love, pain, and suffering.
