- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth isn't all brutal fistfights, twisty intrigue and speed dating, it also contains an entire Animal Crossing-style minigame called Dondoko Island, where you must revive the fortunes of a formerly pleasant resort that is now overrun with garbage and pirates.
Watch on to see Andy and Jane set out on their journey to restore Dondoko Island to its former glory, and stick around to see a five star, double S rank island!

Yes Jane, "health center" is a Japanese euphemism for something like a brothel or a similar establishment.
To add to that, there is also a "Delivery" variant, which is as the name implies, coming to "you" instead other way around.
[spoiler? below]
Hence the pun on "Delivery Helper" (referring to "Delivery Health"/デリヘル). Makes the whole Gary's business intro/mission a bit funnier knowing that :)
Manga store? Pachinko parlor? Love hotel? That neon arch? Yeah, Andy pretty much built a miniature Kabukicho in a corner of the island. :D
Not to mention soap land 😅 Bordering on illegal. It’s not like human trafficking thrives in these hubs…oh wait.
Yeah, iirc it is typically (though really who knows considering how unregulated they are) limited to hand stuff and mouth stuff, circumventing the laws. Compare to a soapland, where the workers innocently wash and massage the client, and then fall deeply in love and give into their passions completely separate from the exchange of currency.
"Yeah, you're embarrased.. You should be..." - Jane Douglas, best burn contender 2024.
I like how Andy just kind of glosses over it.
Jane's frustration upon seeing the man-living-alone vibes of Andy's island made me laugh hard. It's like that expert friend who appreciates you getting into their hobbies but abhors your take in them.
YES, this exactly xD
Yeah, it's very reminiscent of the first time my brother got his own place and I cane over and saw the state of it. He hadn't even bothered to get window shades! It took me and my mom to help him make it look like it wasn't accessorized primarily by a cup noodle sponsorship. 😂
This game is so wild; I'd just recovered from the fact that it suddenly turned into Pokémon, and suddenly it's all "actually I'm Animal Crossing now, deal with it"
I haven't left since arriving and I love the idea of everyone wondering where Kasuga is after 3 weeks
Thank you thank you thank youuuu Andy/Oxbox crew! If you'll allow me to be sentimental, I bought Yakuza Like A Dragon at Andy's suggestion years ago on my Playstation and ended up playing it in front of my mom, who absolutely LOVED it. The business sim minigame was her favorite. She died in December and I've been in a big scramble since, so I can't afford Infinite Wealth atm, but it makes me smile and feel connected to her to watch you guys playing it. She was a big fan of Oxbox and Oxtra too.
Our sympathies for your loss, that's very rough - we hope you enjoy the video and we're so glad you had Like a Dragon to share! OXOX
My deepest and most sincere sympathies. I am sending you a long distance hug in the hope that it makes you feel a little better. I hope you have good friends with you.
@@outsidexbox Reminder when it feels like all you do is make silly internet videos that content like this brings people together, gives us community and spreads joy in ways you'll never fully know. Thank you for being your delightful selves and creating a place for stories like this to be shared.
Nickolas, thanks for sharing your happy memories of your mom and I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you get to play these games in the future and remember her.
I lost my mother in 2022. Probably the worst time of my life. But i believe No one just ceases to exist. I am sure they are just on another plane, hopefully better than what we experience right now.
I know this is old, but I finally got Infinite Wealth and I've absolutely loved it. Thank you again for introducing me to the series. On one hand, it's hard to play it knowing that she would have enjoyed it just as much as the first one, but the fact that the game reminds me of her now is more sweet than bitter at the end of the day.
Andy: "Mike, I want to do another Like a Dragon video. Will you help me?"
Mike: "Are there car races in it?"
Andy: "..."
Mike: "I'm out"
Andy: "Jane, please help me!"
Jane: "Why?"
Andy: "There's...Animal Crossing in it?"
Jane: "I'm sold, let's go!"
Interesting how they edited right over Andy's placement of the headless maid mannequin. I wonder what the story was there... lol
I really miss these let’s play style videos you guys do! So chill and nice to have on while I’m doing anything
Me too!
Please, please, _never_ stop Let's Play-ing the _Like a Dragon_ games. The games themselves are already super fun, but y'all always make them even _more_ of a delight.
Just came back from my visit of this island and am still in awe. You have to get lucky with who you get matched with as your tentmates, the specialty sake has a questionable flavour, and when I visited the health centre for a checkup I was given funny looks (the nurses were also not in professional attire), but otherwise the facilities are brilliant! I was even told that the "mountain of trash" was actually a fine art sculpture made as a commentary on modern society!
Overall, an easy 4 stars from me.
Out of all the crazy things you do in Yakuza games, the most unrealistic thing has to be trash disappearing when you beat it with a bat.
3:30 r/malelivingspace would be proud andy
No way, it's much too opulent.
When Andy was talking about hiding all the things he'd built under a tarp and building normal businesses, did anyone else want Luke to come in as a role reversal of Normal Adult Man?
"It's just a normal respectable business! It's a normal respectable business featuring normal respectable buildings!"
“It’s just a normal adult business!”
Careful Jane, I'm getting real "timeshare sales pitch" vibes from Andy's island tour here. Don't sign anything!
5:32 lol at the red mascot staring wistfully at the ocean like the grandfather in Ring of Endless Light
For anyone who wants to know Gachapin and Mukku are from Japanese children shows called "Hirake! Ponkikki" and "Ponkickies". The only other game I've seen them in apart from this is Granblue Fantasy during special gacha events and their own cross over event.
Some would argue it takes MORE skill to build a building in a dilapidated state, kinda like building model kits and painting them to look new but then having to employ advanced techniques to weather them and make them look older.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Sleaze
Surely the massage parlour, sorry "health center" should be in the entertainment district.
Just heard about this video on the Oxventure podcast and... here it is!
Anyway, you say Red Dondo Bug, but I see 'flopping kidney' on the organ trafficking resort island.
I see "sausage infested with Piophilidae/Cydia saltitans larvae" myself...
"It's not even a little bit sleazy," Jane said with surprise. "It's wholesome and cultural..."
This is the content we were promised,
all is right in the world.
20:40 well, google translate's camera function indicates the 'health center' sign says, "fashion health" "Beautiful girl specialty," and "Tokyo Kamurocho store" on the large upper sign. Lower right says, something about "Recruitable. (obscured) fashion health", "Please tell me", "High income!", "Any time. Number of days you like. Fully equipped with insurance." I think lower right was a 'now hiring' sign. Lower left, "fashion health", "Give it to me", "Price Menu. 60 minutes 10,000 yen, 120 minutes 20,000 yen", "Various options", etc. make of it what you will.
I'm a simple soul, I see Jane and Andy playing some sort of life sim, I click like. This video actually made me start thinking how much I'd like to play a game that's just renovating and running a tourist destination-- and then I realised, that's just Bear and Breakfast, which Jane has *also* played ^_^
That red Dondoko bug reminded me of those Monobeasts from Two Point hospital!
So the trash pirates deposit their trash in neat piles, and then you smash them up with a baseball bat and somehow this makes it cleaner? Love this game, need more Infinite Wealth videos!
The health center is called "Give It To Me" according to Google lens.
And by "it" they simply mean osteochondrosis!
I've just spent roughly 8 hours grinding my island, I close the game and this the first video I see. Great, thanks RUclips. Also, it looks far better than mine.
Ah, reminds me of the reason why I started playing Hitman (no subtitle) during the 2020 lockdowns: Vacation in Sapienza 😊
7:27 I think the saints gang is in the wrong island.. 🤣
I swear to God, it's like you guys knew I just got in from a bad day at work and needed something to cheer me up.
Love my boy Ichi.
i lived on galveston island for a while and it too was full of trash and people you had to hit with a baseball bat. kinda just seems like island life to me.
I'd like to take this opportunity to formally apologise to Andy for not playing Like A Dragon as soon as he said, I'm now playing it on Game Pass and it genuinely might be my favourite video game
And there it is, I said I'd buy the game if we got this video of Dondoko Island with Jane and Andy. SOLD!
I've been building palaces and visitor centers in PalWorld, this might be a better fit
Edit: Okay, is this part of the base game, or do I have to buy the DLCs?
Base game!@@toymachine2328
20:19 In Japan that's a front for a gray-zone not-quite prostitution establishment. The service provided is for "health", any kind of sexual-oriented service is an under-the-table agreement between the client and the worker, but not officially sanctioned by the establishment or owner.
Andy's 5 star resort is so much nicer and well thought out than mine. I have stuff like every car/bus/truck you can build lined up on a pathway and guests just stare at them all day. 😂
Found out visitors won't travel between areas so I have 2 big zones with housing and then crammed in as many ways to make money and raise satisfaction as I could while using the smaller zones for chicken coops, food growing and farming mats.
I got 5 stars and so far make about 2 mil every 3 days from visitors plus whatever I make selling the stuff I pick up/catch/fish. Spent 45 days on the island and i'm sitting on 20 mil dondoko bucks and have made 700k dollars on top of that.
My island isn't pretty to look at but if I throw a bonfire once a tour they all usually end with pink or orange smiley faces and big tips without me needing to go around handing out souvenirs.
Now I just need to keep on top of Dondoko farm, beat up any washbucklers that show up and fight off animal attacks while picking up everything I see to get them all top stars and make as much money as possible. As soon as I feel like i've made enough I can go buy the ridiculously overpowered weapons for my level and then experiment with jobsto find ones I ike.
So who's gonna tell Jane the difference between Fire Island and Fyre Fest? :D
can't wait for jane to mysteriously disappear in exchange for a cafe...
A++ for this reference ❤️
Not sure whether to like or dislike this comment. On the one hand: nice reference. On the other hand: aww, don't transport Jane to an online purgatory.
Yes! It's so good to see another LP on the channel. Albeit not really a LP. For those of us who've been around for a long time, LPs, live streams and Show of the Week are much missed. I know Oxventure takes up all of your non-list editing free time. Still though. I miss the gang being themselves (like Horses and Garfield) as you once were. No negatives, just being nostalgic.
Same here. I enjoy Oxventure, but I do very much miss the longer LPs and SOTW.
I haven't been able to pick up Infinite Wealth just yet(hopefully next week 🤞), so watching this is tiding me over until I can get to play. Ichiban has become one of my favorite protagonists in gaming.
ngl i think that cold open alone just sold me on the whole game
But I'm still working my way through the original series... almost done with 3 atm
Hmm, Andy's not addressing any of Janes "sleaze" comments, I wonder if there's a reason for that? "So the island does unfortunately have a rather large red light district" There we go.
How did I spend my morning? Oh, just sitting here, drinking my coffee, watching Andy and Jane build a resort in a video game. I consider it time well spent. (Oh, and Jane is correct… “Health Club” = Massage Parlor, I reckon.)
I can easily see myself neglecting the rest of the game just to play this.
Andy is right, you do still need some sleaze on your island resort. I differed from his approach though and instead made my lighthouse area the sleazy part, essentially dubbing it the "red lighthouse district".
After seeing your Yakuza videos when a new game came out every few years, the closely spaced releases of Ishin and Infinite Wealth keeping the series in my mind, and a whole load of memes, I’m finally beginning the series for myself with Yakuza 0. I’m going to play until I get to be Majima and then hole up at the karaoke and the disco, where every single member of the Tojo clan can only hope to drag me out
Update: missed my chance to sing with Nishiki in chapter 5, am very irate
33:47 These guests give me Glass Onion vibes lol
very happy to see a video about this part of Infinite wealth, nice to see how Andy made the 5 star resort and what he put in it
I'm so charmed by the fact that the running sound effect sounds almost exactly like a New Horizons villager running around on the sand
This is nice, I had no idea there was something like this in the game.
I've never played a Like A Dragon game, so I only know Gachapin and Mukku from the ancient 4chan dsfargeg meme.
trash pirates dump the animal crossing deals you don't buy here, then pick up the passed deals here and dump them in AC villages. it's the circle of trash!
I worked, one summer, at a Grand Resort on Hatsushima (a small island in Japan), and I can say with full authority, that it was exactly like this to every detail. Yakuza run, sausage bugs, sleazy health centers, the works.
this game looks really fun! the final island was very nice (well, other than the sleaze district, that does ruin the chill island vibes a tad -- though i support the flaming statue haha)
"And here is the, sort of, the giant gold statue that breathes fire that I built." Oh Andy
Ill never get over how Yakuza fixed like 75 percent of the problems I had with New Horizons and it was for a side quest
Aww shared game with Jane and Andy that's adorable, I really wanna see Jane pimp out this dump lol
Thanks so much for videos like these, they're my favorite!
I bought Like a Dragon because of your videos and I'm sensing the same trend this time! I'd love it if you made more videos exploring Infinite Wealth 😊
The Japanese audio is being used, andy has restored the natural order.
So great! I'm not a Yakuza fan (never played the game), but I really enjoy watching you folks play it! You really bring it to life for me, even as someone who's not usually a fan of that game style :]
Loved the video and loving the game at the moment too. I'm only at chapter 6 because I keep getting distracted, but I'm really enjoying it, and having fun with it. It's amazing just how many different activities you can do in these games ☺
We need a whole Jane series of just this part of the game.
19:10 I underestimate the impact TES oblivion had on me until that ridiculous table in the middle of nowhere make me immediately think of the DLC
Always love to see Like a Dragon content! One of my all time favourite game series!
I’m loving the infinite wealth content
Every day while you're on the island you need to make sure you spend 200000 dbucks on a commercial. It gives you 500 Popularity each time that allows you to have less clutter on your island to still be a S rank.
Such a nice chill video, and such a beautiful island.
I don’t know if I’ve ever been so early to a video before! Nice to see everyone!
Best part of the video? Jane's candor!
This all looks far too wholesome!
This was an awesome watch 😊
I enjoy the confusion between Fire Island and Fyre Festival.
Man, this is awesome
I imagine the giant fore breathing statue saying "remember me, remember me, remember me"
The text front and center on the "health center" sign says くれよん (kureyon), or "Give it to me" if that clears anything up.
I clocked Jane's Barenaked Ladies reference... "boom anime babes" hehehe
12:48 Toilet needs were priority #1 and 2
There actually a bit of fast traveling around your Animal Crossing island, if you get green pipes. Idk if you can pipe between more than two locations but still. Lol
/surreptitiously unsheathes a baseball bat
You can get Super Mario warp pipes in New Horizons that act as randomized teleporters you can place anywhere, which is to be fair is about as troublesome as it is convenient
Y’all are gonna have to rename the channel soon once everyone forgets what an Xbox was lol. Gonna sound as obsolete as a channel named OutsideDreamcast
You can't hear it from far away but the giant gold fire breathing statue also yells REMEMBER ME
You can teleport around the island in Animal Crossing using the Mario Pipes. Seems like Andy needs to start playing again.
soapland is a bathhouse..... sure 🤣🤣
God I love this game.
Oh the Old "Happy Ending" Health Center.
What a treat! 🥳
Do you reckon he's just imagining this resort and his work on it? And maybe just playing animal crossing
Apparently the island unlocks about Chapter 6... I'm on Chapter 3 now. Not the type of game I normally play, and I probably wouldn't put much time into it if I didn't have a specific goal in sight, but it's an interesting game, and good to expand my horizons on occasion.
It's strange not seeing 10,000 Majima Helmets spammed across the island. (His 1 star looks much better than my 5 star...)
Not even two minutes in and the Yakuza games prove just how bizarrely weird (and oddly heartwarming) they are. Makes me wish I had a system...and a TV...
Christ, between Mt. Sludgy in the background and that overenthusiastic Krofft-like greeting, I'm surprised any of them got *off* the boat...or that they didn't come off shooting.
Jane, I'm sure (as a woman of the world) you know exactly what it's about...but I'm assuming it's staffed by women that will do what you want for a price. Fine, I'll spill...it's a front for a female assassin agency.
Damn, Andy's levels in this are what mine still in the last game. I can't grind like that. I'm never going to finish that game.
I’ve never played Animal Crossing but when forced to do this is was like 🤨 “Is this Animal Crossing?”
Being both Asian and a local to Hawaii, I can confirm that this game's depiction of home is 100% accurate.
Fun fact: that size of sparse early game 1 bed/1 bath costs about $300,000 USD 😅 :edit: wait, you're near the beach, so it's probably double that price.
The glow up is real
PLEASE make this a series, maybe even Mike vs. Jane?
So a 3-star resort has opulent buildings, and a 1-star resort has comfy cardboard boxes.
Who's running this place, Gavin Newsom?
Kamurocho is apparently where that mini red light district is?
