We all know he was a phenomenal bassist but what a hugely underrated songwriter! If Elton John had written this it would have been number one for a hundred weeks and sold millions. A true musical giant.
A consummate musician. Great bassist, great vocalist, great keyboard player and great songwriter. A Swiss Army knife. Sadly these days are over and will never been seen again.
R.I.P also Pete Brown (d. 19 May 2023), poet, who wrote this together with Jack Bruce (like so many other songs). What a loss. Now climbing the Rope Ladder To The Moon...
Jack was and is my favorite artist ever!!! Listened to his music (all his albums) from very early on til this day. Noone did it like he did. His voice, his musical ideas, his sound, his creativity.
I'm ajmost 72, so I lived through his career. One of a kind. The full package. Iconic. An era gone by, that will never comes this way again. Just the nostalgic whines of an old man........I don't think so !!
Im 71..always loved his talent, what a wonderful musician he was...Disreali Gears really knocked me out in those heady days of 1967...Always thought that Cream suffered because Hendrix kind of stole their thunder...but Jack always blazed so bright through those great Cream albums...one of the greatest musicians ever.
We have lost many of the 1960's and 1970's musicians who left a huge imprint on music that determined the direction of music forever. Soon, we will not have any of them left to carry-on the music they made. Let's hope future musicians will take opportunities to keep these iconic songs alive. Rest in peace Jack, Felix, and Leslie. Remembering Mountain !
An immense musician, piano isnt his first instrument but the expression he gets into his playing is just awesome, every note he plays serves the song perfectly not to mention the incredible vocal performance - I perform this myself but i cant get close to this - just brilliant
This is my Jack Bruce, remembering him in this way. Had to put this one in my forever list. When I see you , On The Otherside, Jack, I’ll sure thank you for this one, so beautiful and from deep within ❤️
I remember seeing this on German TV, followed by a TV reporter following him backstage and pestering him to play "Politician", which he very obviously did not want to play but the reporter would just not let up...
4:52 as a humble just bass blayer, him speedin these chords up for MAXIMUM IMPACT makes me wish I'd been playing the paiyano this whole time T_T rip jack, you was a god darn champion for weirdos like me
Does anyone have This Whole Concert 90 in Cologne on Video, I would Love ❤ to See and Hear it , Please put the Whole Concert up 🙏 , I have the DVD but for some reason it won't play , I don't understand why it is supposed to be an American DVD 🤔 Love Jack Bruce ⭐ 🌹💛🙏 🎶🎵🎶
This is the last album I bought from J. Bruce. Nice songs in it, i suppose they were planed for Cream. As for "Imaginary Western", I prefer the Mountain's version.
Beautiful, powerful...it should have been Jack that continued on into Blind Faith instead of Baker...that would have been a monster group...Bruce, Winwood, Clapton...maybe AI will give us a chance to see what might have been if only...

I agree by 100%
Totally agree ! Technically however the lyrics were by Pete Brown!
@@quentincrisp6933 Thanks for the info.
Couldn't agree more!!!

Hopefully not.

Music was written by Jack?
Yes, of course ❤
RIP to Felix Pappalardi as well. He sang an awesome incredible version of this song with Mountain. He also produced the Cream records.
@@ChristopherDavis-uh1gq Felix was a genius. So sad that he was killed by his girlfriend .
Happy Birthday Jack
You are not forgotten.
Your music lives on in all of our hearts
My absolute favourite version of this song :'-) we played it at Dad's funeral and at his tribute show. Miss you Dad🌹

Great vocal and piano instrumental.
Great musician, singer, and songwriter.
One of my all time favorite rock ballads. Felix sang it well and Jack does him proud in this rendition. RIP, boys.

I’m in tears listening to this gorgeous song… stripped down to its bare essence.
How beautiful this is. Great voice. It has made me cry. xx
Jack Bruce war ein großartiger Sänger und Bassist
Love this song!
Magic.
Jack Bruce was one of the bassists that inspired me to finally learn to play bass in my 60s. He was a unique talent.
he was also classically trained chellist before rock came along
What a gem of a version. Nice nod to Felix Pappalardi in the intro.
I am so grateful to this man for sharing all the music in his soul.
Excellent voice and piano.
thanks for the reupload. this has always been a fav.

Mountain with Leslie West also did a cool version of the song. And the guitar solo was just phenomenal and sublime.
Even though many know this song one of the greatest versions I've ever heard or seen for the first time absolutely 🌹💕💕❤️❤️💕💙
THE LEGENDS NEVER DIE 😢😢

Love this from way back
A choir in the second half of this song would be crazy!
Jack sos un grande. El capo de la crema. Cada ves me sorprendes mas.

Why not Baker AND Bruce?
Cos ginger baker was an absolute tosser
Sicuramente non suonano lo stesso strumento
X2
Really has no depth without Leslie West guitar and Felix bass.
All these years I thought this was a Mountain tune. Both Jack & Leslie were one of a kind originals.
Incredible talent and song writer extraordinare.
