Located in the sub-Antarctic, the islands of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Island are of hemispheric importance as key breeding sites for wildlife that migrates across the entire Southern Ocean.
This film provides an overview of the diverse wildlife, history and heritage of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.

What a bloidy beautiful world we live in South sandwich islands are awesome
Im happy your great documentaries are back!
Thanks for this little documentary.
Lovely documentary!
Great video!
Thank you!
Great mini doc!!!
As a Britian, I can confirm we own South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.
I'm glad you were able to hold onto these uninhabitable islands. Maybe takes the sting out of losing the rest of your empire.
@XYZ_55 Britain gave up its widespread Empire voluntarily. It wasn't kicked out through wars like the French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Belgian. That's saying something.
Sending full support myfriend and good morning
Penguins are so adorable!!
அருமையான இடம்
I love penguins
nice
Any idea how you can visit the island from Falklands??
More likely from Ushuaia, on an expedition cruise. Almost none leave from Stanley, although many that go to South Georgia do also visit Stanley on their way.
I really want to visit there
Cruises leave from Chilie. It's at least £9,000 to share a 4 berth cabin. I'm considering it.
How can you get there? Is it even possible?
For South Georgia, yes - expedition cruises from Ushuaia (usually) or elsewhere in Chile or Argentina. The SSI are extremely rarely visited and tourist operations are no longer allowed to make landings there.
The south sandwhich island one is not available.
@@eesamangera9542 A bit strange
Jono sent me here and now I wanna get plane tickets here
Really happy that there's no Human factories 🏭 and any other type of pollutional industries. That's the home of 🐧 and other 🐦 we should feel like guests in this island.
The WORLD's largest penguin colony is in Zavodovski Island, not in Antarctica where you would expect. Pretty amazing. A tiny little speck of a volcanic island in the middle of the ocean has more penguins than on any colony in the great content of Antarctica. How does that happen ?
Btw.. I was fortunate enough to see the world's SECOND largest penuin colony, which is in a place called Baily Head in Deception Island, Antarctica. It was on a cruise around the South Shetland Islands last year. However we only saw it from the deck of our ship as landing wasn't permitted. And that stench. Even from miles away we could smell it.
If I became extremely wealthy I would buy this island just so that no one lands on this beautiful untouched island.
what is the price
@@marv3295 what do you mean what is the price lol they have no price wtf
You can't, it's british territory, I doubt the government would let you
It's population is 30 people I think
Reindeer were shot by marksmen.
Like South Geogia
bitter and lonely climate. The extreme edge of the earth, basically as far south you can go without having to land in Antarctica.
I'll stick to the equatorial latitudes, where we have things like summertime and trees.
Needs an Arby's 🤔

Las islas Malvinas, Georgias y Sándwich del sur son argentinas.
Somos los piratas, nos gusta la aventura y cagarnos en la Plata🇦🇷
I guess these islands are rich in oil. The only reason uk never fracked here is that Argentina also has had a claim to the islands
Idk why its called south georgia and the south sandwich island
Now if we could just resettle people from, and stop human and domestic animal settlements on the Islands of Madagascar, Borneo, Sumatra, and New Guinea, to start, then we could REALLY save some of the most amazing critically endangered flora and fauna on the planet. The poaching of animals and plants along with the hacking down of the Old Growth forest is making things dissapear that we may never see again. The dodo bird example on an escalating monster scale.
lol dude there are 28 million people on Madagascar alone
No one cares
i was so happy to see how beautiful they looked.. wild and free.. then BAM! humans!! ruining everything!! i am glad they left!
I wonder what penguin fast food burgers would taste like.
yum.
wtf. this. channel reposting same videos with different titles.
The whalers cause nothing but trouble wherever they go for the local wildlife
