What POV do you write/read?

First person present tense is my absolute favorite POV. I love reading and I love writing it. Even with the flaw of not knowing what other characters are thinking, I still prefer this POV Because it makes me feel deeper and understand better. So what POV do you write in? I love reading in third person limited past tense, and sometimes first person past. I usually write the prior, but sometimes I'll do the latter. However, when third person omniscient is done well, I love it! (I'm looking at YOU Tolkien :)

I have written in first person past tense, first person present tense, third person past as well as third person present. I think my favorite to write in has to be first person past tense, because it feels more natural to me. It is what I am doing currently in the novel I am in the process of writing.

Why do you choose to write in present tense? I find that limiting, so I would love to know why you prefer it.

I like living in my character's shoes, feeling the things they're dealing with in the moment. I've tried to write in past tense and while I can do it, I prefer to write as everything is happening to the character. How do you find it limiting?
