Taking tactical to the next level, we wanted to drop an X-Sight 4K Pro on our Air Arms S510 XS Tactical. This combo performed better than I expected, and I can’t wait to get through the rest of the testing and do some night pesting. This is one sweet combo!

That's what I like to call a better can opener.

The only thing I wish they had on the ATN is a “Drag function” setting for pellets. They have several different drag functions for different projectiles, but no drag function setting for pellets. You can get close with the G1 setting, but they do not have a GA setting. I wish they had the proper pellet drag function setting for the ballistic calculator on the scope. You can get close. But it always seems at longer ranges the ballistic calculator isnt perfect. It will get you in the ballpark, but dont rely on it to get you mice at 94 yards. For that you will need a bit of practice, and luck.

Is tge built in range finder useful compared to the Abl?

I STILL, can't Understand how you Airgun shooters come to think you NEED Scopes of Such REDICULOUSLY High Power, to shoot at the Ranges MOST of you Do !?. I have a 6X - 18X on my Varmint Rifle that i can use HUNDREDS of Yards Out, & Even Then i don't use ANYMORE X's than NEEDED. Because of HEAT Wave Distortion, esp trying to shoot the Relatively Small Targets, WoodChuck Heads @ 200yrds+. I Sight in, Test Handloads, Using a DIME SIZED Target @ 100yrds, & Only Use the 18X if Temps are Low enough, & Only for Precision Tuning, BECAUSE I HAVE IT, But do Most Shots using Less !.
The Added Co$t, & INABILITY for Daytime Use @ Higher X's due to, as i said Heat Wave/ Mirage Effects that make it Near IMPOSIBLE for shots on Smaller Targets causing Greater RISK of WOUNDING Animals ! NOT ACCEPTABLE when Casual Varmint, Pest, Nevermind Larger Game Hunting, Ayuh

Perhaps you should look into Field Target competition. There's World and Hunter classes. That would go a long way to explaining it.

I have this 5-20 ATN on my Armada for shooting mice. The reason I personally chose a 5-20 over the 3-14 is quite simple really. Image quality. Seeing that the 5-20 is HD quality at 5 power, it stands to reason when recording videos shooting mice (the size of your thumb) out to 94 and even 104 yards you want the ability to (at a minimum) record decent video footage. The 3-14 ATN is HD quality at 3 power magnification. 3 power magnification at 94 yards shooting mice makes for difficult shooting. If you are going to zoom into 10 or even 15 power at 94 yards you’d like to ensure your image quality isnt garbo. 10 power zoom on the 3-14x is going to be more pixilated than 10 power zoom on the 5-20x. So to answer your question, its image quality. Sure, you could still record hd quality video and shoot perfectly fine at 94 yards with a lower magnification scope. But half the reason you buy an ATN is to record your shots. So why buy a video camera with less image quality? You wouldnt. So buying the 5-20 isnt always about the zoom or magnification, but for many, its about the image quality of the recorded video. Even at 20 yards, id rather record myself shooting mice on 5 power HD, than on 3 power HD. Larger image, same image quality. If they came out with a 10-40x magnification scope that was HD quality at 10x magnification, you wouldnt buy the scope for the magnification capabilities. Youd buy the scope for its image quality capabilities.

Also I find mirage/ heat wave affects aren’t really a hindrance when shooting, but they often indicate subtle changes in wind direction and speed. Just like snow flakes and rain drops. So those affects being visible at higher magnifications aren’t a problem for everyone.
