I dont need a chrono really but it would be nice, so with that said im not going to spend a ton of money on one and im not going to buy a cheap bulky one or something that requires set up. But this fits my needs perfectly. I can just toss it up on the bench and record data for each rifle and know my applied ballistics is going to need less adjustments to get it dialed in.

Already have a LR and MagnetoSpeed. MagnetoSpeed has been 100% dependable. LR, even with an external trigger and aiming scope, has been quite finicky. It's also easy to forget to arm the LR and the downrange velocities are often spotty. All my shooting buddies with LR have stories about its reliability; yeah it works, mostly. With its size, tripod and extra batteries, I needed a hard case for transport & storage vs the pocket-sized Garmin. My first trip to the range with my Garmin was amazing. No missed shots, just turn on, point and shoot. Fired 100 rounds testing 22 LR ammo; not a missed shot. Until further notice, my LR will be dust gathering and my MagnetoSpeed in the trunk for backup if ever needed.

    What a great product!
It has not missed a 22 cal / 9mm / pellet pistol shot yet. It did record a 0fps from a guy next to me but that was the only problem so far.
This ain't cheap but I always wondered if my flyers were me or the ammo. When I get a high fps my shots are high. Low fps does not seem to bother it as much as a high fps shot?
Ran into a problem that the sessions I would shoot do not show on the phone? They use to but now I can't seem to get it on my phone. I just reinstalled the shotview app so hopefully that will fix it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I don’t know that I’d sell off Chrono’s before more reporting comes out now that more user reviews are coming. I believe the Garmin is a great unit and the app integration seems to be there initially. There are some deeper data collection and usability features that I’d like to see implemented though from a user standpoint like these
    - ability to start/create sessions directly from the phone app
    - the ability to have data sync in realtime while shooting on the phone
    - the ability to edit and add shots to a previous session after closing it out without the need to create a new dataset
    - the ability to log down range velocity at set intervals (i.e. MV/25/50/75/100 readings)
    - ability to show data in chart/graph forms
    - ability to calculate true BC based on G1/G7/4DOF models
    - some sort of developmental roadmap to look towards for potential features that are being added
These are some feature available in the FX Ballistics Chrono and presumably they should be able to be implemented via firmware/software updates in the Garmin unit. If so, i think this would really solidify this as the one to get maybe. All that said, i already ordered a Garmin unit that should arrive this week.

The garmin doesn't allow you to accurately calculate your bullet BC like the Labradar does by giving you speeds at multiple distances. The garmin also "appears" to work like the labradar when it is set in doppler mode instead of trigger mode. This mode on the labradar has been less accurate in my experience. Another drawback on the garmin is the internal integrated battery. It will degrade over time giving you less and less charge. The fact you can use any USB external power pack with the labradar is a plus. So there are definitely still some advantages for the labradar. As long as my labradar is working I see no need to buy one of these but if it ever dies or if I was picking between the two for a new purchase the form factor of the garmin is a big plus. I think they needed a lower price if they really wanted to take a larger market share.

      Man flip a coin. 🤷🏻‍♂️
LR is great when it works and doesn’t drop shots.

I appreciate the response. I understand the harmonic issues with the magneto but there are many many v3’s WITH mounts, wiser & mk machine, for $250ish. I’m also watching several for sale ads on sites like snipershide, long range hunters, etc for Labradars with tripod, aiming device, battery pack for $325-$350. Most of these ads are OBO as well so could probably get them a little cheaper.

This will hit the lab radar hard but I just can't see how it will compete with the mach 4 and now 4+.

@PrecisionRifleNetwork ghost shots??? Weird. Mine has been perfect. Only thing I do is go from the parabolic adapter to being off. That's it. But the power of this radar puts it first. If money is a concern I agree this garmin is probably the answer. If not I just find the BS mach 4 is just better. I hate stands like LR and now this garmin but atleast it's smaller. But it would probably been better at a more affordable price to take that lr market. Probably not worth the 600 but if it was 400 it would of been better.
