Compared to the laminators that I grew up with as a school boy (these literally would take up a quarter of the room and the size of a large bedroom drawer that's about 3-5 feet tall and no more than 2 feet wide), these take up only an 8th of the drawer within the drawer that's very easy to stow away for very minor uses. I started having more confidence with AmazonBasics when they mentioned they save money and focus on quality by simply cutting out the marketing factor when they are already well known to the community; which makes a lot of sense...
Thank you for your review! I’m doing tutoring, so I’ve been looking for a budget-friendly laminator, and the reviews like yours for this Amazon Basic laminator really help!
The only issue that I had with this model, was the jams; but you get some practice and are generally able to avoid it most of the times as long as you're only doing a few like 3 or 5 sheets, as it was intended for. It does have a sheet un-jammer, it just widens the mouth to either take some clamps or something to grab it; but you need to shut off the machine before you attempt to unjam. Not a big deal, and the 5 mm are only useful for thinner sheets; otherwise the quality doesn't improve with the thickness, so 3 mm is always going to be your option with anything that you laminate. Amazon makes these incredibly cheap and reliable, and finally easy to store for the occasional use. I've done recipes, important contact lists, fishing licenses (for a Canadian Fishing Trip), and finally study guides for college. You can still take a marker, (or permanent marker if you don't want the writing to rub off easily and then use something like GoofOff to clean the sheet later of the permanent marker) to write on these sheets as you need to for either notes. I'm very glad to see these are well on the market and plentiful...
Sorry for late reply, Great, I'm glad you go it to work for you we have used ours a lot and made many nice lamination's of some very tasty recipes and important documents.
Well, I hope it worked the way you wanted it too. No problems here my wife has laminated over 100+ recipes and other documents and hasn't had one issue with the laminator.
Does anyone know how the release works? I've tried pushing the release and lifting the top but it doesn't come open. How do I take something out that is stuck?
@@IndianaDiy sorry I for got that I posted that. The reason it was jamming was, when a sheet got wrapped around the roller, I cut it off... but residual sticky was left... I took it TOTALLY apart and scraped it off, and now we are good to go. But thank you. :-)
+accountname0 I haven't tried cutting them, me and wife usually print full page recipes and laminate one or two in one pouch. Unless the recipe is printed on front and back. My laser printer does two sided printing, that how we do most of our recipes.
Not happy with it. If you do not align dead on it will corner out and crease. Also, it appears to have a bad roller in it and makes marks on the laminated page every 2 inches....
Where is the info on how to actually use it step by step? How do you arrange the paper? Sandwich it between two piece of laminate paper? I haven’t been able to get it to work
I am laminating 3x2 in cardstock in a laminating pouch 5mil and they are not sealing completely. I have to run them through 2 or 3 times, then they're good. A little time consuming to go back again 2 or 3 times, but the finished product for ID cards is awesome.

Wow! Finished product looks great! Heck of a deal for $21.99 as well! Been thinking about one for a while, and think I will pick one up now!
+purkeypilot thanks for the feedback. We have used it allot and still going, no problems.

+Loren Lloyd Thanks for feedback, glad to hear that..
Good morning how long do you have to wait for the machine to warm up? I'm thinking about buying a laminating machine I think is worth my money . :)
About a 1-3 min
@@IndianaDiy , that it it will be worth my money to buy a machine thank you. "
So good!
Yeah it is, I really like it. My wife has laminated so many recipes with it.
Do you cut your sheets to fit your paper
Nope don't have too but. You could if you want.
Great video, thanks.x
No problem, glad to help.
thanks can we get it online if yes then on what platform it is available
Its a Amazon product you have to figure out how to get it if Amazon is not available in your country.
Strangely, when you use it for the first time, it's coated, but it's not coated, and it doesn't
Well, I hope it worked the way you wanted it too. No problems here my wife has laminated over 100+ recipes and other documents and hasn't had one issue with the laminator.
How can I print both sides? Do I have to do it one side first then the other?
+pavaz21 you need to either put whatever your laminating back to back or it must be printed front and back.
Does anyone know how the release works? I've tried pushing the release and lifting the top but it doesn't come open. How do I take something out that is stuck?
I hope you got the release to work, it is simple, unless the unit is defective.
I bought the box of amazonlaminating pounches (100count) but it doesnt say if they are 3 mm or 5 mm???
I think there 3 but we set the machine to 5mm for best results
Mine KEEPS jamming... and ideas why?
None that come to mind, I don't any problems. Sorry, can't be of more help.
@@IndianaDiy sorry I for got that I posted that. The reason it was jamming was, when a sheet got wrapped around the roller, I cut it off... but residual sticky was left... I took it TOTALLY apart and scraped it off, and now we are good to go.
But thank you. :-)
Oh, glad you figured it out.
Can I laminate any size paper or cards smaller than what the maximum dimensions are that you can laminate?
+Rick Schmidt yes as long as you get them to stay where you want them so you don't make a mistake. Shouldn't be any problems, simple enough to do.
I bought one a couple of months ago, and tried to use it, but it didn’t feed through. Disappointed.
Oh, Wow, sorry to hear that.
Mines not pulling through
Can you use any mil thickness pouches with any setting?
+Willam Batchelor I'm not for sure, I usually use setting two.
ok
How do you laminate a small card?
I use the Amazon Basics lamination pouches. You could do one card.
which way do you put it in?
+Christian Chagaruly it shows a little picture on front for feed. Switches and release or on back of unit.
If you cut the laminates, does it separate from the paper?
+accountname0 I haven't tried cutting them, me and wife usually print full page recipes and laminate one or two in one pouch.
Unless the recipe is printed on front and back. My laser printer does two sided printing, that how we do most of our recipes.
I don't like it because 1- the power supply made fire in my room 2- it's having smoke smell
Wow, sorry to hear that.
I had checked it is not available on amazon
Sorry, I just found it available on Amazon.

Wow, sorry to hear that, did you try to call and get a replacement unit?
sir what is the model and price of this laminator
+Abdul Majaid it's a Amazon Basics Laminator PL9-US. The current price is 21.99 on Amazon.
Where is the info on how to actually use it step by step? How do you arrange the paper? Sandwich it between two piece of laminate paper? I haven’t been able to get it to work
Can you laminate a business card?
Yes, it might be harder to do but you could.
Has anyone tried laminating cardstock using the 5 mil? Will it jam?
We haven't tried any cardstock in the unit yet.
I am laminating 3x2 in cardstock in a laminating pouch 5mil and they are not sealing completely. I have to run them through 2 or 3 times, then they're good.
A little time consuming to go back again 2 or 3 times, but the finished product for ID cards is awesome.
What the...? What's going on with the edges of this video?
+WolfBagel edges of video?
