We first saw Nickel Creek in September of 2002 at the Pagosa Springs Folk fest. My son was 6 months old and I vividly remember her standing in the isle with him in a sling while they played When You Come Back Down. Flash forward 22 years to Bend, OR on Saturday night with my wife, now 22 yr old son and our 17 year old son. We laughed, we cried, we sang. It was magical. Thank you for being the theme music for our family's journey. It's truly been a gift.

This song first came out after my husband was killed in a plane crash. I bought the CD and must have sobbed to it 10,000 times. Watching this new video, and hearing it again after more than 10 years, takes me right back to that time. And as much as it hurts, I now feel that I float more on top of those beautiful lyrics and harmonies, instead of underneath them.

I can’t listen to this song without shedding a tear anyway, but the 20 years of experience, both from the artists and myself have just added another dimension of emotion. The first time I heard this, I had just graduated college and didn’t know ... anything. I decided to risk relationships and career plans and stability to join the AmeriCorps*National Civilian Community Corps to serve for a year. I’d never stationed hundreds of miles from anyone I knew, but these were the exact words my boyfriend spoke to me. He knew I needed the time and space to grow and take chances and I woke up next to him this morning, married almost 16 years, listening to our 5 kids downstairs. What a blessing.

I stumbled across NC by random chance flipping through TV channels. I stopped for a moment out of curiosity to listen, and it wasn't long before my jaw was hitting the floor watching these kids (at the time) playing their instruments like aged pros. I went out the next day and bought their CD (NC/NC) not knowing anything other than the song I heard them play on TV. I was blown away, and have been one of my favorite bands ever since. And have played them to anyone who would listen, and turned on dozens to these guys. Talent, heart and soul. Don't know how they didn't take over Nashville, but I'm thankful to have their musical gifts in my life 😎.

I just have to say this is either kismet or coincidental (although I'd like to believe it's the first option). Nickel Creek was my first concert at 12. I cried when I heard this song and remember meeting them and watching Sarah play with someone's mandolin in the crowd as she talked about music and life. After years of putting my own mandolin down I chose to listen to this song over the weekend just because I wanted something nostalgic to listen to and I haven't stopped listening to it since. And at work I decided to play this and come to find this literally was just mind blowing to me how serendipitous (or not) this was. Anyway, thanks for all the memories Nickel Creek.

My fingers stumbled across this song while I was practicing a shipload of sea shanties for an upcoming gig. This tune was so ingrained in my subconscious that I just started playing it (for the first time) halfway through "Leave Her Johnny, Leave Her." It was such a pleasant surprise to see this very recent performance and a humbling reminder of how the three of you are truly masters of both instrumental and vocal nuance. The way you interchange with one another is astonishing! Thank you all for your dedication and timeless contribution to the world's soundtrack.

It’s sad that Live From Here was cancelled. I loved that show. Great artists and funny. We need this music and that show to come back. A way to get talented people noticed. I realize Nickel Creek has been around for 30 years. I saw them in the late 90s when you could sit mere feet away.

And they would step away from the microphone to stand on the edge of the stage and sing a couple songs with no electronics at all. The audience had to hold our breath in order to hear them. An interesting exercise in "this is the way it used to be".

Bought your Nickel Creek CD release in abt 2000 only for the track 'When I Come Back Down' - which is a masterpiece of harmony, melody, syncopation and synergy. Recently, on Amazon Music I head something called Vang me Voor ik Val and while the language was foreign, I knew I'd heard that melody. Kudos on creating such a unique memorable song. Not many can, or will, do that anymore. Anyway, I'm glad to see you're still out there. If you ever make it out West there's a non-profit venue called Kuumbwa - in Santa Cruz CA.(Non-Profit) In any case, congratulations on your unique accomplishment.

First time I saw you guys was at the Durango Meltdown and I stood in the back talking to your moms, who had to accompany you because none of you were old enough to rent a car yet. A large chunk of the festival-goers were just following you from one venue to the next and ignoring the rest of the groups. Last time was in Pagosa Springs, right before you broke up. It's great to see you playing together again.

On the various playlists on the various devices that I have in my life, there is only one musical group that surpasses Nickel Creek in the number of songs on those playlists, and that is the Beatles.
