This song first came out after my husband was killed in a plane crash. I bought the CD and must have sobbed to it 10,000 times. Watching this new video, and hearing it again after more than 10 years, takes me right back to that time. And as much as it hurts, I now feel that I float more on top of those beautiful lyrics and harmonies, instead of underneath them.

We first saw Nickel Creek in September of 2002 at the Pagosa Springs Folk fest. My son was 6 months old and I vividly remember her standing in the isle with him in a sling while they played When You Come Back Down. Flash forward 22 years to Bend, OR on Saturday night with my wife, now 22 yr old son and our 17 year old son. We laughed, we cried, we sang. It was magical. Thank you for being the theme music for our family's journey. It's truly been a gift.

This song was a lullaby I sang to my newborn in the middle of the night, those early sleepless years. I knew my purpose was to give him wings and that I needed to cherish those brief years of holding him in my arms.
He turns 20 this year. And he just drove out of my driveway on his way to work ❤ These days too are few and will soon be over but I'm proud of who he's become. Your music helped a young mother learn how to love with open arms ❤

I can’t listen to this song without shedding a tear anyway, but the 20 years of experience, both from the artists and myself have just added another dimension of emotion. The first time I heard this, I had just graduated college and didn’t know ... anything. I decided to risk relationships and career plans and stability to join the AmeriCorps*National Civilian Community Corps to serve for a year. I’d never stationed hundreds of miles from anyone I knew, but these were the exact words my boyfriend spoke to me. He knew I needed the time and space to grow and take chances and I woke up next to him this morning, married almost 16 years, listening to our 5 kids downstairs. What a blessing.

I stopped for a moment out of curiosity to listen, and it wasn't long before my jaw was hitting the floor watching these kids (at the time) playing their instruments like aged pros. I went out the next day and bought their CD (NC/NC) not knowing anything other than the song I heard them play on TV. I was blown away, and have been one of my favorite bands ever since. And have played them to anyone who would listen, and turned on dozens to these guys. Talent, heart and soul. This song was how my girls traveled with me in my heart, as I crammed through work between flights in airports and in interchangeable hotel rooms, this song was my unspoken prayer to them as I drove alone down countless highways, dirt roads and back streets, hundreds of miles away.
    This, they never knew.

I took my wife to see them at the Pabst theater in Milwaukee Wi. In 2005,her 40th B-day, when I first met her she had lost most of her self esteem due to a abusive relationship, while in that relationship she had a son and hoped things would change, but after giving it a couple years she realized she had to get out of it for not only her son but her very life, when she explained every thing she went through I knew I would have to be there for her and give her some space to heal emotionally and get her to trust in me and to Love herself again, it was a hard road for us both, after about 6 years of living together we decided it was time to think about getting married, she still had trust issues from her Hellish relationship so many years back, this song came out about the same time she turned me onto this song and after holding on to each other every time it came on,I knew she finally opened her self up to be able to trust in the ability to Love herself and those around her, we've been together now for 30 years, and married for 23 years, so this song is a very special song for my wife and I, as well as her 36 year old son, but he probably wouldn't admit it, he's not much into folk music, thank you, Nickle Creak, for helping me bring out her beautiful soul, and to trust in love again ✌❤🙏

This is life... have followed and seen these folks separate of each other but nothing can compare to the magic they create together. Gosh, I hope there is more of this wonder and stardust in the future. Some things just shouldn't been denied... lots of love to you all

They were together for this stream as they were writing new music for an album without a release date yet, but hopefully in the nearish future. I imagine there will be some shows to support it.

They have never failed to give a stellar performance. Sean’s guitar work is always so damn good too. These three are truly underrated and very so!! I live in Texas and anytime I mention them very few ever know them and it blows my mind.

First time I saw you guys was at the Durango Meltdown and I stood in the back talking to your moms, who had to accompany you because none of you were old enough to rent a car yet. A large chunk of the festival-goers were just following you from one venue to the next and ignoring the rest of the groups. Last time was in Pagosa Springs, right before you broke up. It's great to see you playing together again.

My fingers stumbled across this song while I was practicing a shipload of sea shanties for an upcoming gig. This tune was so ingrained in my subconscious that I just started playing it (for the first time) halfway through "Leave Her Johnny, Leave Her." It was such a pleasant surprise to see this very recent performance and a humbling reminder of how the three of you are truly masters of both instrumental and vocal nuance. The way you interchange with one another is astonishing! Thank you all for your dedication and timeless contribution to the world's soundtrack.

On the various playlists on the various devices that I have in my life, there is only one musical group that surpasses Nickel Creek in the number of songs on those playlists, and that is the Beatles. I'd say that puts you in pretty hallowed company! Your music has been and continues to be significant in my life. And THIS is one of my favorites. Music is such a gift. Thank you for sharing your gift with me.
