- The first generation of Honda Ridgeline went on sale in March 2005 and ended sales in early 2015. It was not the best-selling pickup truck on the US market but it had a lot of first in the class innovations which were:
Trunk-mount in the trunk bed;
The fully-independent suspension which made Ridgeline the best driving truck on the market;
Ultra-low emissions (an industry first for a truck in North America);
Advanced safety and technology earning the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) Top Safety Pick-Plus award (a segment first);
Dual-action tailgate;
Scratch and dent-resistant half-ton capacity composite bed;
Large interior for a mid-size pickup.
In this video:
Ridgeline's interior features and design;
Undercarriage inspection;
Problems and repair costs;
Reliability.

Brother. This is literally one of the best car reviews I’ve ever seen. You touched some uncommon but equally important and interesting points. Thank you 🙏🏾
Im Impressed! Yes his English is not perfect But? His Evaluation and comments are Honest and spot on the money. You can tell he is not a average "dressed Up" car u tube wanna be mechanic but does not want to get dirty. The undercarriage review and explanation is Rare to see now a days. im glad i came across this guy and now i want a ridgeline !
Great review, I really appreciated how you talked in depth on the mechanical side of things and adding the expected cost was helpful information as well. Well done, still looking at the Ridgeline for future considerations. Thanks
Wait for the 2021 model.
Thank you, I really appreciate your perspective views on this Honda Ridgeline.
Nice review! One correction though, 1:40 - ground clearance is 8.2” or 20.9cm.
Knowledgeable packed review, I just purchased my 2006 RTL model in very good condition for $6,000 although it does have 200,000 miles on it but if it was maintained as the maintenance records show then I should have a truck that will last for at least another 100,000 miles easily.
I bought a 08 RT for $6500 with a little over 168,000 a couple weeks ago. So far it's a solid truck it was wasn't my first pick but I can say I'm glad I got it. Seen so many videos with people putting well over 300,000 miles on it
How is it running now ? Still good ?
@cevinmoore8428 how is your ridgeline running?
Really knowledgeable, a lot of insight, thank you.
Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate the positive comment.
Great Review of the Honda RL! :) Honda did a great job on giving attention to this amazing truck! Sure it needs a few more things but it's not bad at all, a lot of storage, easy to access, I think if they put a few inches on the cab to extend the back seats, a little more horse power to pull a 7000 pound towing capability, maybe climate control in the back seats and usb c connectors for new phones and or a plug in for laptops while traveling to the next destination would be good too. Now the off road i'd suggest putting a few more inches on a lift and maybe bigger wider tires.
Very thorough review. Thanks! Great video.
Thank you! We are very happy that you like it!
Awesome review! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video, Keep it up :)
Ps: I just bought a 2011 ridgeline and WOW I love it, and started to pimp it a bit and the videos will be on my channel soon :)
I want one of these but they are VERY hard to find at a reasonable price.
Agree. Most of them are with very high mileage.
Got a 2012 here in Missouri for 4k under book with 116k one owner....final price after trade in..........just over 12k
Цей кузов як для мене кращий по дизайну. Хонда мала свою ізюменку! Бо зарас як всі траки. І задні двері меньше стало.
👍 Дякую за коментар!
Great review, subscribed.
Love this gen
Thank you for a thorough review. I appreciate the maintenance and service information. Most reviewers only give you driving impressions. I need to pull a 2500 lbs boat and trailer up some very slick boat launches. Between the Pilot and the Ridgeline which one would be better for this. Thanks.
Neither. Go with the Fit.
@@mig50ccwell the fit is good for like racing and stuff idk about trailer hauling
Are pilots 4x4?
Comparable truck and SUV, you would expect the truck to tow a little more.
@@blksheep176You can get them in AWD and FWD
Thanks for doing the video, I enjoyed your MDX video as well. Which car do you prefer, the MDX or the Ridgeline?
I have 2008 MDX in Ukraine, and i love it! Definitely much more comfortable and advanced vehicle.
We have a small garden in Ukraine and time by times need to bring something to it. In this case Ridgeline would be much more convenient vehicle.
If I would not be crazy about powerful cars, I would have big SUV and Ridgeline in my family. But because I am crazy about power, we have Jaguar Super V8 and Dodge Magnum in US. :)
In Ukraine I am thinking to switch MDX to Ridgeline, but pretty often we need 3-rd row...
@@AtomicCarReview So you live both in the US and Ukraine, how interesting! I have a 2011 MDX and it's a great car (though I find the 6-speed has a hesitation upon acceleration that really bothers me) but my previous car was a Honda Element and I miss how utilitarian and simple it was. Seems like the Ridgeline is almost a large version of the Element and it can tow what I need to tow. Only problem is, my wife hates Ridgelines and my maxed-out MDX is worth less than a similarly equipped Ridgeline for some reason!
The Mighty Cass, I live in US but originally I am from Ukraine. That’s the reason to have MDX in Ukraine:) Usually we visit a lot of our relatives with my family and we need 3 row seats to fit everyone and AWD because the quality of the roads in Ukraine is horrible.
I like Element and even wanted to buy it for my parents. I think Element would be a nice car for us in Ukraine with our garden house:)
@@AtomicCarReview The Element is a FANTASTIC car. My wife and I miss it every day even 2.5 years after selling it. Reliable, practical, HUGE inside, and very easy drive with a great turning radius. Only downsides are split rear seats only seat 2 people and back doors are awkward in parking lots.
Do you transport your vehicles from US to Ukraine?
(add wind rain deflectors) makes a difference wind noise he's right re: ridgeline being full independent wishbone suspension re ride but to be fair avalanche & cadillac ext are full size trucks w beds & use coil springs (the suburban suspension) & have eaton locker rear differential the swoop design @ bed of ridgeline assist's in it's body's integrity in addition to it's aerodynamics avalancha & cadillac for air flow purpose also keeping in mind those two vehicles can be fully open area with mid-gate down & rear window (which has a defroster) removed
Great review! Thanks! Was the tonneau cover stock or third party?
3rd party
Thank you! It was stock
My tonneau cover is made by Bakflip which looks similar to the Honda stock tonneau cover.
They come in handy for keeping the snow out of the back of the truck among other things.
Great video 👌😎
Wow dude thanks you’re awesome
Thank you for your comment and feedback!
Fun to listen to him talk! Good job on trying to speak English.
I am trying my best :-) 50 more videos - and I will be a Pro :-) Thank you for the comment!
@@AtomicCarReviewRU Your English is good, way better than my Ukrainian LOL.... Keep up the good work, thanks
Erated78, Thank you for your support and very fun comment! :)
What tires are those? They look really good on that truck. Are they offset?
hey..whats up with the bat in the trunk? good review ....
Thank you!
Can you tell me the new Honda Ridgeline is it as good as the 2006 to 2014 is the new one just as good thank you and can you make a comparison thank you
Spark plugs are already easy to replace. What do you mean its easier now
2011 Mdx vs ridgeline which you most recommend
I own both, can’t live without either. I like the structure security and the luxury that my Mdx provides, but I love the practicality and the capabilities of the ridge line. They are both daily cars. I drive the truck and I have the mdx for the wife and kids. The mdx is definitely luxurious in all aspects, cost especially. Premium gas, parts, and services. I’m sure I’ve been of Zero help
@@JonathanGarcia-cy7hd 0 help for sure.
@@JonathanGarcia-cy7hd if you mean I’ll be spending a lot more on the luxury of the mdx, that’s very helpful because i am a penny pincher
your estimation on cost of labor for a timing belt change is way off. otherwise good review
The price which I provided includes pulleys, seals, tensioners, all drive belts, water pump, etc. Just the timing belt you can replace between $300 - $400. Thank you!
What's your opinion on a 2013 Ridgeline with 101k miles for $16k ? What do i need to immediately get fixed ? Timing belt , water pump ... What else ?
If it's a one owner for that price you're stealing it
Love the bat in truck. Lol
They poot secret compartment for wodka.
20.8 inch ground clearance....no way....8 inches or so.,
Yes, I agree, I think he meant 20.8 centimeters = 9.5 inches!
que hace CIRO PROCUNA haciendo reviews de autos ?? JAJAJA
Can this vehicle Connect to a Bluetooth and play music?
Can’t understand what you’re saying 😂
Very nice 👍( borat voice)
A) it’s not a real tuck. B) the ridgy has almost no ground clearance. C) I don’t know what country you are from, but here in ‘ Maerica, we speak English- you should try it! D) I owned a 2007 RTL for 5 years. It wasn’t bad for sending the little woman out to get the rugrats after a “soccer game”( not a real sport) but it is not made to work, period.
Sound like a hater to me...
Everyone that lives in America came here from somewhere else and experienced a degree of prejudice, perhaps a better view of people is one that recognizes we are all humans and live on a very small planet in a unimaginable vast universe. I own a Ridgeline and I agree it’s not a real work truck but for most people it’s a great all round vehicle that can be a car and a truck when you need it to be. I love the trunk beneath the bed and the clever tailgate.
Every Party needs one.
