The Blue Coats just keep getting better and better. They are so talented and have so much potential. I hope to see them rank and win the world title =)
I'm so proud to be a part of the marching scene. It feels fantastic to know that even your superiors in drum corps international are your family, as they love what you love...
Trent that pale guy is my high school band director😂 his name is Matthew Gaal. He marched contra at Bluecoats 2011, baritone at Glassmen 2009 and 2010 and was a 4 year member of The Ohio State University Marching Band on baritone
@@suhdude9704 Sounds like my band director. Then I get to college and he says that we can't march if we do drum corps which marching band was a requirement as a music major.... smh I missed out on so many opportunities!
Pure ambition is all I see. This is truely one of my favorite shows in dci history great job guys. And I'm a baritone so for that being said... GO BARITONES!!!
The reason they never went far is because they were never very strong visually. From 2013 to 2016, they started recruiting individuals who were strong in the visual and musical departments.
airborne592 1. I wouldn't say they got individuals who were strong, is say they got individuals who were strongER. These guys are insane 2. In my opinion the over integrity of the program/design was better and communicated better to the audience from 13-16
For the best experience, watch this at the same time as this video taken from a first person point of view of the exact same runthrough: Bluecoats 2011 Euph Cam
@VexedGenie9113 lol yeah i was just messing with you. no matter what the traditionalists will say, the subwoofer is a pretty vital part of the front ensemble. my point is that it's never used to give us bass underneath our chords. that stuff is all horns.
+Gabriel Idk thanks I don't have much experience but I've never heard that high on our tuba, but bluecoats have probably one of the best contra lines. Anyways thank you for telling me.
+Gabriel Idk, I would suggest working on your high ranges, at least to the D above the staff while in high school. Drum corps will usually not ask you to play that high, but it makes sight reading some of the audition pieces a whole lot easier when the ability is already there and you don't have to work for any of the technical stuff, you feel?
2:52 When the cloud covers the sun at the big hit. Timing was perfect!
oh damn... cool
I feel like the Bluecoats are the best at finding a way to integrate tech and other cool things into shows eloquently.
Seven years later, after their 2022 show, this holds up. Crown's might be jussstttt slightly more meta though
Holy crap. That section-wide contra flip at 5:00 is still amazing to me
i know this is a year late but look up 2010 Madison scouts contra flip
Bluecoats, masters of the ballad. So amazing, they begin their show with one.
BEST CONTRA LINE IN DCI OMG. WHY ARE BLUECOATS SO UNDERRATED.
Dude
There top two lol
So underrated dude
The Blue Coats just keep getting better and better. They are so talented and have so much potential. I hope to see them rank and win the world title =)
They did this year.
Maxwell Rissmiller I made that comment 2 years ago, I never excepted them to do something as good as downside up... but when I saw it I was blown away
Bluecoats contra line is bae.
True, my dream to be apart of it 2020 c: year after my senior year. They are just so incredible
+Zach Schmitz hey start auditioning for stuff now while you can!
@@zachschmitz3036 that is quite unfortunate
"Drum major; is your Corp ready" "Yeeeuuupp!!"
MeanerzFilms haha!!
I'm so proud to be a part of the marching scene. It feels fantastic to know that even your superiors in drum corps international are your family, as they love what you love...
Listening to this with headphones is amazing. Bass 5 is LOUD!
I've now seen this same runthrough from 4 different angles. I feel like I've marched the show myself.
It’s 2019 and I still believe that these guys had the tastiest snare book this season.
Brings me to tears everytime.
Since the show was "A Brave New World" the closer should have been "This is War" by 30 Seconds to Mars
Watching the guard makes me feel so happy and tingly! They are all on point! Gives me shivers!
Anyone else notice that almost all the contras are wearing matching shorts? XD
This is great! I love how out of the whole Contra line there's that one guy with the shirt on haha.
Just wow. I can`t even express how much they amaze and inspire me.
Everyone's tan in some way then there's the the pale guy in the contra line X'D
Trent that pale guy is my high school band director😂 his name is Matthew Gaal. He marched contra at Bluecoats 2011, baritone at Glassmen 2009 and 2010 and was a 4 year member of The Ohio State University Marching Band on baritone
Nice man! Does he cake on sun screen? lol
Drew Thiesing Everyone has some lit band director who marched DCI, meanwhile my band director literally doesn't want to be a band director.
@@suhdude9704 Sounds like my band director. Then I get to college and he says that we can't march if we do drum corps which marching band was a requirement as a music major.... smh I missed out on so many opportunities!
i got to see this in person because they came to practice at our school for like two days during the summer..it was soooo cool!!:)
Pure ambition is all I see. This is truely one of my favorite shows in dci history great job guys. And I'm a baritone so for that being said... GO BARITONES!!!
I think I'm going to cry this is too beautiful.
Hard to believe this got only 7th. This is incredible.
Love Bluecoats Bluuuuuueeee
I get goose bumps every time i watch the beginning
Goosebumps EVERY TIME
It's like a little orgasm for my pores right around 2:15
If the bluecoats are going to be known for anything besides being the most innovative corps it's gotta be their contraline
The opener is so good. I don't know why they didn't win.
The reason they never went far is because they were never very strong visually. From 2013 to 2016, they started recruiting individuals who were strong in the visual and musical departments.

Excellent camera work, kudos to the photographer.
I'm just gonna leave myself a reminder that the contra feature is around 9:02
I had chills the entire first movement!
The contra on the far right at 8:16 is playing a Pedal Bb during the last 8 counts of the chord, and I can finally hear it in this video! :D
For the best experience, watch this at the same time as this video taken from a first person point of view of the exact same runthrough: Bluecoats 2011 Euph Cam
"Is your corp ready?"
"YEP!"
Hilarious.

That closer CHILLS
Impossibru!!!!! This is more amazing than I remember
My high school did a show with some of the same music in the opener,
What excerpt did your HS use?
Dylan2007sha 1:31 - 2:40, 3:15 - 3:42, 4:26 - 4:47, 5:03 - 5:27
PropertyofGerard haha awesome. This is the ballad for my HS's marching show, and I have the mello solo @ the end on Baritone :)
PropertyofGerard (1:30-2:40 is)
I saw that too! He must have felt like such a badass
I just finished my last year marching band I am gonna miss it! I won 2 state titles in marching band!
“why is there like 10 of them- OH THEYRE STANDING IN THE BACK”
@VexedGenie9113 We also have 16 silver plated subwoofers out on the field.
I have to ask at 9:40 is it even possible for a tuba to hit that high?! Or is it an auditory illusion created by the baritones and tubas?
nope, you can actually reach such a high note. it's not that hard.
+Gabriel Idk thanks I don't have much experience but I've never heard that high on our tuba, but bluecoats have probably one of the best contra lines. Anyways thank you for telling me.
Your welcome I myself am a tuba and I can barely reach such a high note lol I'm more of a low range person.
It's not too hard to hit it on tuba, just hard to have consistency. I sometimes overshoot it when I play it.
Such a good drum feature
Ugh
Such a great show!!
I hate it when people clap in the MIDDLE of the performance. ugh, seriously some of us want to listen to the music.
members appreciate it though
They should've brought out that super long snare roll at 11:16 more instead of hiding it, considering it was super clean
That bass is killin it
I LOVE this show!! I wish I could have seen it live.
The people living behind the stadium sure were having a good day lol.
yeuuupp!!!
I'm coming coats....2013...more specific, i'm coming for the coats bass line...I would love a spot
Mackey's Harvest in the 3rd mvt was amazing!!!
Check all of the Cavaliers cams. There's at least 10...
Anyone know what kind of mic was used for this? It seems to be one of the better ones I've ever heard. Excellent bass and treble.
at 6:46 was the first time i cried because music was so beautiful
Bluecoats: 50% Marching 50% Dancing. :D
Very much dabbing.

6:00 to 8:30 I just can't even..... This is why I want to march Bluecoats
Does anyone know why the drum majors switched at the beginning of the ballad?
what's up with that guy at 11:26 walking in front of the camera like he's in charge of the corps or something... sheesh.
YEUP.

Where is the guy who does the back flip?
