It might be just me but I’ve always found bass drum splits to be the most impressive. You have to coordinate with the others so well, and it amazes me every time.
@@alexwilson2268there is absolutely no point in comparing these two things because I’m telling you right now the tightest snare likes couldn’t to what the tightest bass lines are doing and vice versa. It’s apples and oranges and immensely impressive both ways

Oh Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!! Finally something to tide me over with juicy high quality audio until the files are released for finals! You're the best :)
I highly recommend that you let your snare drummers eat some chow. I'm seeing a lot of rib cages out there. I was worried one might snap during some of those movements. jk
Slurmp kyle is closer to the mic there so you probably hear more of him and it sounds less like 3 people playing than the other sets where you hear them all together
It’s a sad day to day it’s been almost 4 years now since DCT came out with something :( some of the best lots were recorded by these guys, luckily we have gridbook, 6am films and many others filling in
Towards the beginning of the video, some of the front ensemble members have earbuds with receivers in...continue watching and on the lead snares harness, there's a transmitter; does anybody know why???
MrJazzSaxophonist From my knowledge the earbuds are so the front ensemble members can listen to each other easier since they're so spaced so far apart, and the transmitter on the snare is to boost the volume of some of the quiter parts they play
Who is that in the Minnesota t shirt at 11:57? I'm from Minnesota and thinking about auditioning for the blue coats later in my life. It would be cool if that guy turned out to be someone from my home town. I live in Moorhead, Minnesota.
That beginning segment with the marimbas and horns STILL sounded off to me even at finals!!! Was that intentional?! Surely they weren’t messing up the rhythms and timing
do you take notes while watching them rehearse to make sure you don't bump into anyone? it seems like it since you do such a great job of being in the right place at the right time. you might want to invest in a camera stabilizer but other than that no complaints!
Downside up is just one enormous jam session
No.... that's session 88.. lol
Sebastian Morris *session 44

Joseph Stalin still harder to get snare drum rhythms clean amongst nine people on a Kevlar head with offbeat rhythms and fast riddles

Still goes down as one of the HARDEST shows in DCI. Absolute Fire 🔥
Drum Major: "Six words! Let's go bloo!"Guy: "That's three words"
six(1) words(2) lets(3) go(4) Blue(5)....BLUE(6)
They're wrong. That's four words.
@@peashooter_- when(1) Autumn(2) leaves(3) start(4) to(5) Fall(6)
Correction for me: That's six words - six(1) words(2)! Let's(3 and 4) go(5) blue(6)!
the legend of the six words lives on. who knows of the six words and their meaning? the blue coats, and they won't tell you.
I know I'm not the only one whose in love with there fine tuned drums
Me and you both
Bro the basses during their roll feature thing 🥵
i thought i was gonna die when i heard them they are tuned so well, especially the snares
YESSSSS
there snare sound is very satisfying like bro in my school the snare drum is so bad. i joined a competition but sadly we are 2nd place...
The best On Field cameraman I've ever seen
I can hear Roger's drum set in my head through all this
John Adams you've been constantly looking at the other drumcorpstube video too huh?
Johnathan Granados - Idk, depends what you mean by constantly.
One must wonder if Roger owns a Rogers drum set. 🤔
He's endorsed by tama, so all drums he owns are tama.
Bruh same lmao
5:06 jeez top bass sweet marching technique
His heels said ⬇
my exact thoughts
Those bass splits from 11:15 to 11:30 are just amazing!
I thought porn was restricted on RUclips
opienickofficial - It's cool, I enjoyed your comment.
you stole that from the finals lot vid haha
WightWayne I'm the same guy m8
opienickofficial nah fam it definitely me lol but it's cool

Joe Stanton you have the whole show transcribed ?
wakko269
Snare science baby
Joe Stanton I can't find it I only see stuff from 2014 that's it
wakko269 hmm maybe it got taken down or something, that's too bad
go to DCI/WGI and the newer stuff is around 400th page and up
So is nobody gonna talk about the basses at 4:45 orrr
That's incredible
So.... badass...
I NEVER NOTICED THAT WTF
nah man I’m too busy figuring out how many times the snares got the stick toss at 4:48 right like got damn
Lowkey didn't see that
Idk how to explain it but this is just simply my favorite DCI show ever, the Bluecoats are awesome
Oh Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!! Finally something to tide me over with juicy high quality audio until the files are released for finals! You're the best :)
no matter how many times I watch this I still get the chills
I love seeing Willie on the podium!
Alexander Golden
Right in the beginning willie is sitting next to the current DM.
it's a drum major tradition.
I can't count how many times I've watched this video...it's just so...creamy
I've been waiting for this for a longggggg time my friend
I highly recommend that you let your snare drummers eat some chow. I'm seeing a lot of rib cages out there. I was worried one might snap during some of those movements. jk
Well never thought I'd cry over how cool something like this was.
that moment when drumline start running towards you and you don't wanna get hit 😂
The basses sound so good in this just realized
I can’t stop watching this. That closer has so much energy!!
8:08
I didn't know JDfuncorps played snare for the bluecoats! Lol
That looks so much like him lol
Joe Pallita
Is this why he isn't uploading anymore?
Why didn't he tell us?
I literally saw him and was like, WAIT
Everyone part of this show is so lucky
FINALLY! I've been anxiously waiting for this video to be released. Thanks!!!
i love the music to this show. seriously 10/10 show, one of my favs
Unbelievable. The energy just blasts through the screen.
3:35 to 6:29 is breath taking
saucey donuts bro fr its the best part imo
Why will this show always be so good
10:08
You can hear which pair of 3 snares are the most together during the add ins. It's definetly the center 3 players, they're so clean.
Slurmp kyle is closer to the mic there so you probably hear more of him and it sounds less like 3 people playing than the other sets where you hear them all together
Yeah exactly
These guys, the entire group, instructors, percussionists, horns, guard, support team, all - STELLAR!
when tenors are cleaner than the snares
wes p I’m pretty sure Tim aka tenor god is still there, which might explain it.
Justin Wright Tim Jackson?
Honestlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Well yea it’s less tenors than snares
I've been waiting for this long enough
I've been waiting forever for this 😍😍
Clicked on this so fast
Can't. Stop. Watching.
Lol after samuel said 6 words let's go blue some guy said "hey that's 3 words
2 years later and I still get goosebumps at 10:40.
Your sound quality and line coverage is unmatched on youtube... any hope for a DCT return in 2018?
It’s a sad day to day it’s been almost 4 years now since DCT came out with something

Did anyone else see the dude dressed as a pharaoh at the first dance block in the front?
TheBigBouch lol Ye
He's actually dressed as King Dut
Noah Jenkins haha lol
Noah Jenkins that's the greatest thing I've ever heard in my life
When it’s dress up day in class at 5 but you have to practice at 6
This show is splendiferous.
Absolutely stellar performance
This is just phenomenal top to bottom
Wow....just....wow....
I got nothing but goosebumps right now
The drags at 5:49 give me happiness
Drags like that are a recipe for dirt
@@TheHuntProd if you look at the finals lot they are dirty as hell
Love the baseline so much
as a forever front ensemble player it is beyond me how they stay in time
Its so satisfying hearin' those base splits
fantastic job by the drum line! You should all be very proud of your self's!!
9:13 what is that outfit 😭
11:58 the shot
The great gig pit section was so beautiful is there a video of just them in this year?
Actually, I think there is somewhere
so cool that the front ensemble used in-ears
What's with that gap in the ballad? The keyboard intro to The Great Gig in the Sky was cut.
Sheldon Edwards Maybe copyright strike bs?
I think they cut it since it is a drumline cam and they wanted to skip to drunline stuff
The drumstick thrown at 4:47 xD
Kyle can be so badass when he wants to
One question: why were you bare footed?
I appreciate trying to save time and cut to the Drumline stuff but I don't mind watching and listening to the whole show :)
what happened to the coat in bluecoats?
Derp De Games like many corps this season, they probably felt that it was time for a new uniform
yes but now they arent the bluecoats. they would be... idk what they would be with their new uniforms
Derp De Games probably still the blue coats
they dont wear their trenchcoats anymore so there is no coat. so to speak.
They didn't have coats to begin with, they don't have coats now. They had coats for THREE years. Probably will go back to them. Sit the fuck down.
Sweet! Still miss Willie
Those Yamaha drums sound sooo good!
goosebumps...
It's Feb. 1st... & I'm still watching this show...& it still gives da chicken-skin brah! So solid...don't envy the 2017 effort... BIG shoes to fill!!
i’m still watching this show
2:21 Feel the swing
5:19 that's an insane move lol
Dat the drill ;0🔥
The end snare lmao
Aye that’s awesome they played great gig in the sky
The 2017 battery cam is going to be insane
Sheldon Doty if it ever comes
I love this book

Isaac Homuth I believe that's Kyle Tsuchiya I'm not sure if he's aging or not though after this year
he still has one more year left
That beginning segment with the marimbas and horns STILL sounded off to me even at finals!!! Was that intentional?! Surely they weren’t messing up the rhythms and timing
Man...what a great line.
That legendary snare break
HELL YES!
Crazy that the bluecoats discovered fire just 4 short years ago
do you have the bluecoates Massillon encore from this year? those are my favorites and really love the way you do them.
Jesus. The snares sure had some notes this year
those bass splits at 9:30
what's with the quarterpipes btw awesome snareline and awesome music fantastic
Raptor Rigby in the show, the snares apear on them and slide down them (plus I think they play into the whole "Downside Up" sorta thing)
The end snare looks like jdfuncorps. Not an exact match but from like a distance one would probably think "wat."
2:02 chills every time.
do you take notes while watching them rehearse to make sure you don't bump into anyone?
it seems like it since you do such a great job of being in the right place at the right time.
you might want to invest in a camera stabilizer but other than that no complaints!
Erick Veloz It's filmed by their battery tech
TheGlitchyMushroom that makes more sense than what I said lol.
What is that snare vis at 8:28 ????
thumb roll w/ left and pancake w/ right
Im pretty sure its just a right hand spin, not a pancake
Liam Dun pancake
I might be wrong but I don't think the stick ever actually leaves their hands
Liam Dun do you know what a pancake is
Is there any particular reason why the buzz rolls are more crushed than sustained?
What the heck happened at 7:44 😂 did someone come in late or is it ment to be an ehco?
quads echo the snare entrance
Oh what I would give to be that bass 5 😫
11:24 Camera guy has some MAJOR trust of the guard not to get accidently get hit in the head
I wanna know what is that gold marimba?
Diego Casas it is a vibraphone
that was awesome
This is awesome
Great Gig in the Sky!
Why did it skip the piano solo for great gig in the sky?
Is that a wild willie I see?
baterry cam or SNARE cam ????
I thought it was awesome but the person filming if made me dizzy on how he ran with the camera
Well, sometimes you may get in a situation where you need to get the f*** out of the way
...i advise you all to never eat cereal during 5:41 - 5:47.. it was one of the worst decisions in my life
the ninelets?😱😱
THIS IS AMAZING. Where do you start if you want to get into this? (I live in the UK, wannabe snare drummer)
Jonneh gotta be 14-21 and really good
Is there anyway that the quad guy with the head cam on can release that vid
Dean Hughes it is released
Jay where??
So link from GMM is a snare player
So anyone know why blue marches with IP yet Roger has endorsements with VF?
Nicholas Thames late response, but the person who writes the percussion book (can’t remember his name off the top of my head) is endorsed by IP.
