Well said, man!
When I started out, it was overwhelming trying to figure out which was the "right" way to work in Blender. I started out with mostly boolean n-gon, it made the most sense to me at the time and it helped me understand what was capable and how to achieve it.
As you get deeper into it, you learn that, like you said, it depends on what you're doing.
Glad you're posting more, I resonate with your teaching methods and love the long-form discussion/walkthroughs.
This is good. Sometimes it feels tired when people try to tell me that a certain workflow is a waste of time.
Thanks for the balanced perspective. I've seen quite a few people develop a "Nintendo vs Sega" mentality and it just doesn't make sense. Its actually fun to try out all these different methods. The only downside to the diversity is that it can initially feel really dense. There's so many methods that can feel overwhelming.
love this video.
Damn your voice is so good, you could do audiobook readings lol fr
rant turned tutorial, great stuff totally agree...
Amen.
There isn't a "right way" to 3d model. I even model with splines, or SubD "curves" and also poly by poly modeling. Some people N-gons are evil lolz.
People fear ngons because they don’t understand them, unironically lmao
