They could've given the drone a personality and tied it into being more personal or more mechanically robust and sophisticated for the game. Just like what Deltarune and Undertale both did for their actions and what almost every single Lego game did for each of their characters.
I get that but it's also really funny watching someone like UhYeah bitching about the game and just hearing the drone make it's little happy drone sounds in the background
9:26 "How are you beaten by somebody whose model was made in a car?" Obadiah Stane was beaten by somebody whose arc reactor was made in a cave...with a box of scraps.
I know there's probably a lore reason for why the mascots don't have facial expressions or move their mouths, but they feel so lifeless and devoid of personality just standing around and doing nothing. At the very least, each mascot could have their own unique idle animation or personalized quirk, like wringing hands, tapping a foot, etc Also side thing: it bothers me they call Nabnab a spider, but there's nothing spider-like about him. He doesn't even have venom or silk
I don't think it's a lore reason tbh, have you seen how poorly optimized the models are? Having too many moving elements would probably break the models and/or game beyond repair :/
@@tessfabled4115 I think the lore reason tehy are referring is the mascots from Garten of Banban are made fully of clay, so they don't have so much expression but tbh their models still sucks.
i definitely agree that the modeling is not helping the character designs, they all look vaguely slimy which just makes them very unappealing on top of being kind of lumpy and misshapen.
Counterpoint on the character design thing. I work in childcare. I kid you not, every kid there not only knows every character in this series, but draws them on a frequent basis, cuts them out to play with as paper dolls, etc. These designs are exactly the level of characterful they need to be for their target audience AND have the added benefit over franchises like FNAF, Bendy, Poppy, and the like in that the level of drawing required to draw them is exactly the level of fine motor control and body proportion that children naturally draw with. If anything, I would argue these designs are superior to some of the other mascot horror franchises because of their simplicity. Literally the only franchise these kids are drawing/playing more of is the color monster roblox game and those characters are basically glorified stick figures.
I think that means it's a gripping enough children's game... just not a good game in any other sense of the word. Goes to show horror isn't really the best genre for kids the way they wanna "make it for them", at least not when you try to pass it on as something for adults too. I mean, I have seen kids watch horror stuff that's quite a bit beyond their demographic, so it's not like they can't handle a bunch of it, but that's just not what these games are going for, they're not really going for a bridge between both demographics, it's either one or the other. The only exceptions I've seen were Welcome Home, with the designs going for the uncanny feeling with little to no changes to the designs, and that one is, as far as I know, not even a game, at least not yet; Duck Season, mixing the fun and thrilling part of the gameplay with the creep factor of being stalked by a (digital?) serial killer in a dog costume in your own house; and maybe My Friendly Neighbors, which has consistently silly puppet designs as your main threats, with the main fear coming from lack of ammo, and then the game pulls the rug beneath your feet in the Unfriendly Neighborhood, with genuinely creepier twists on these same designs. And I think the one appealing thing about the Garten of Banban designs is, well, exactly what you said: that they're so basic and simplistic, anyone can draw them, including kids. After all, they look exactly like something a kid would draw, no wonder every kid likes to draw them. I dunno if that's a positive tho. To me, it just means that they literally are nothing more than low hanging kiddy material, either made by folks that have the skills of a child, or made by actual children and then taken by the devs for their games.
that is interesting to say the least it makes me wonder what would happen if someone genuinely tried to make a "horror game for kids" instead of just a crappy mascot horror game that just ends up being marketed towards kids anyway cuz of designs, regardless if it's spooky or not
Yeah. I definitely believe that the designs themselves work in the fact that it hits the target audience. The only problem is that it's supposed to be a horror game, and they do nothing that actually makes them unnerving. Then again, if the target audience is children, that might be considered a plus...?
Probably would take a lot of work, but I really wanna see these characters move like claymation I feel like that would give this game at least some identity
The guy who voiced Banban is Ghepo (one of the Euphoric Brothers) and what's funny to think why his voice sound like this way, it looks like if the devs were making the chapter 2 and they didn't who should voice Banban. Faris: "Okay bro, the chapter 2 from our game is almost done-done but we need a voice actor for Banban as well!" Ghepo: "So who would be his voice actor?" Faris: "Well, I dunno." Ghepo: "Me neither." Faris: (Slowly turning his eyes on Ghepo) *The scene skipped to the voice acting room.* Ghepo: "Sigh... Fine, I would be Banban..." Whether it's true or not, but it seems like if Ghepo was forced to be the voice actor for Banban since the 2nd chapter.
I heard you talking about how the drone can "carry you & items around" and I was like "COUGH COUGH PEARL DRONE FROM SPLATOON 3 SIDE ORDER COUGH COUGH" Shes a great example of a drone gimmick tbh
Honestly, I don't like GOB (How shocking). It pisses me off how Banban gave the trend of creating cheap "horror" games that has a character that feels you just grabbed a paper, threw some paint on it ,added eyes (maybe changed a bit to make it more animalistick, but nothing big), and called it a day - How can these games even gain a horror tag on Steam? Even games that aren't categorized as horror games (like TBOI, Kindergarten and Kindergarten 2, What remains of Edith Finch, etc) are scarier than this crap. I remember seeing on another video's comment section of people reimagining the game based on the fact the title "The Garten of Banban" sounds like "The Garten of Éden". I don't remember the video they said about that, I like the idea - it gives a more original idea and it be nice. Religious stuff in gaming as horror can be nice and considering how confusing and bare bones GOB's story feels, maybe it would have been better If GOB was a game about that, while still being a mascot horror. In my view, in their kindergarten, Banban could have been a little devil who is trying to redempt, representing how can you find redemption. Banbalena could have been an angel that represents the virtues to get to heaven. Things like that, things that give more care and makes things more interesting to these characters. I just hope "Finding Frankie" and "Don't! Fret" save mascot horror from what GOB did. We don't need another sea of games like Muzy, Playtown, Bokkie, Circus of TimTim and more.
How funny, I actually had a similar idea with BanBan being a devil and BomBom (the new name I gave to Banbalena since this one sucks, it's like calling Minnie "Mickelina", sue me) being an angel. I've seen folks redesign them as goats, so I imagined BanBan would be a red goat, an animal typically associated with satanic imagery, that would transform into a demon; while BomBom would be a fluffy white sheep or lamb, a common animal in Christianity, and would transform into an angel, maybe even become one a them "biblically accurate angels" like Thrones, Cherubim or Seraphim.
@@Mike14264 Not gonna lie, add holy bible references through games is awesome and I'm even a christian myself, Garten of Banban could've been better if it was a twisted christian horror game and its new title "Garden of Eden" would sound better than its original one, ngl. Also I loved how you gave a new name for Banbanleena- seriously her name is just a copy half of Banban's name with "leena" to sound feminine. P.S. Same goes with Nabnableena. P.S.S. I thought it could've been better if all the mascots' name are reference to bible figures like Adam, Eve and so on but that's alright.
@@CannoliSlugYT aye, for NabNabelena, I think I'd call her NibNib, since I imagine that unlike NabNab, she's not trying to be a reverse counterpart to BomBom. And yeah, making this game one that's more focused on Christianity themes would've been really interesting... Heck, having any sort of central theme would already be better than the actual games.
@@Mike14264 Yeah, a kindergarten made specially for christian kids with christianity themes and their mascots resembling bible figures- but uh oh the perfect place (such as the Eden Garden) is corrupting and falling apart, all because of a mistake committed by Adam Uthman and his wife (perhaps Weverly Mason). A mistake that costed a lot of things, some mascots went mad by sin and others could save themselves but a few of them became slaves by the sinners, and Banban became the dictator of this kindergarten... Bioshock had this kinda religious plot before, so I think it would work very well for Banban if done right.
One thing I'd like to say about GOB and mascot horror in general is that the characters in these types of games have a cute normal form and a scary monster form. Poppy playtime, Garten of banban, and Bendy do this type of thing. There nothing that wrong with having that type of thing in a horror game, but I think a nice and different way to do this would be to have the mascot's cute design be used for just the wall art or illustration art you'd see in the facility while the ACTUAL mascot looks like a horrifying abomination. For example, lets say theres a mascot thats an anthropomorphic cat with the body of a spider. It can have a nice cartoony design for what the people in the story were trying to create while the horrific monster design is what ended up being created instead. It can be like a story where scientists tried making real anthropomorphic mascot characters, only to find out how terrifying they look when brought to the real world. It's like those creepy pictures you'd see online where people take iconic cartoon characters and draw them in a realistic way that makes them scary.
Actually, I think Shipwrecked 64 does a great job with that! The illustrated designs are cuter in comparison to even just the normal mascot design. So if you're interested in a series with that kind of thing, I recommend Shipwrecked 64!
on thing about the inconsistent writing I find is this: they cna't seem to decide who the antgaonist is, or which of the mascots is antagonistic or even WHY they're antagonistic. Sure it might play into the story like a sign of 'madness' for the characters but it jut feels like they can't decide who wants to kill you. Like Banban is set up to be a shady figure and implied to be helping you to get your pacnreas but he doesn't really do anything and in fact only attacks you because Stinger Flynn....didd....SOMETHING. Stinger Flynn himself is a better example. He seemingly takes stage as the big bad in chapter 3 only to to be defeated and then do nothing. it's just...hard to be invested if its clear the devs have no plan for these characters. Especially since its a HORROR GAME and they cna't decide what role these characters PLAY in the horror.
Just discovered your channel via this one. Already a massive fan! Especially as you illustrate a lot of issues I have with Banban (and my viewers want me to keep going! Pray for my soul.) though I do find it funny you put "Lighting Round" and then didn't mention how the entire "horror" experience is lit up like a dentist's office. Keep up the good work! I love what you're doing and you deserve all the success in the world.
I already said in a comment from UniqueGeese's Garten of Banban 7 reaction video that I'm "tired seeing more Banban". But the RUclips algorithm said "no". Help.
Honestly, I was not very excited about Garten of Banban 7 trailer, even its trailer is better than the last ones and it seems they improved the drone mechanic, but it's still the same thing from the last chapters such as the models still look unchanged as the animation as well, the environment look (a bit) the same, it's not creepy at all and what was great about this trailer that Banban is finally dead-dead... YES! >:D
Amazing job! As someone who has no clue what garten of banban is, this was incredibly interesting and I learned a bit more on how game development works. Also I didn’t know Scott Cawthon modeled Foxy in a car lol. Also was great to listen to while doing Homework :)
4:23 every time I see or hear anything about welcome home I instantly think of the meme open the noor welcome home version I have seen that meme and I can't u see it
pokeball fit goes crazy 🔥 in all seriousness this is a good like look at banban without just being. person screams at a microphone game bad for 20 minutes
i personally think the biggest sin of banban was the non-menacing enemy design, in games like poppy playtime (ch 3 espicially) had very unique yet creepy and menacing design, in garten of banban, its just some colored blob with horrible textures and default white spheres for eyes. And thats not even mentioning the Laughable bought pre-made animations they use for characters like banban and bittergiggle, I MEAN IT LOOKS LIKE BITTERIGGLE'S UPPER TORSO IS LITERALLY LUNGING FORWARD WHEN HES WALKING. (yes ik im 5 days late to this)
I can't imagine the sheer amount of mental torment and anguish you've went through to see this video to it's end Take the sub miss!!!! You totally earned it
I think I know what made those models so high-poly (I'm not a 3D modeler either so take what I say with a grain of salt as well). In blender there are a few modes you can select for your projects, such as modelling, textures, animation, etc. However I think what the Euphoric brothers did was use 'sculpting' mode to make their models. Selecting sculpting mode at the beginning of a project leads to an already high poly sphere for, well, sculpting purposes. This would explain the lumpy, slimy and veiny looks they all have as well as their high poly count, or at least I personally think so anyways from my little experience in blender.
Okay i completely agree with this video and stuff, this is totally unrelated and not a point for banban or anything but just hear me out... Scott Cawthon - creator of the Foxy model that was yes, made in a car, has been modeling for years. And at that, very complicated and grand models. Good examples is his game "The Desolate Hope", "Iffermoon" and "Pilgrims Progress (The Video Game)". His experience in modeling SERVERLY out weighs alot of other developers, he's had years of experience and I believe was modeling since one of his first games "The Legend of Flan." Ahem, rant aside, I'll conclude this with a funfact Ban-Ban related. On topic of models, Ban-bans models are horridly optimized! Have fun sleeping with the thought Banban has a bigger poly count then like half of the Super Mario 64 game.
I honestly thought Garten of Ban Ban was a parody of mascot horror when I'd first heard of it and saw the characters. That said, I can't help but be a bit fond of Kittysaurus just because he looks like something I would've come up with as a little kid.
Even as someone who has zero game dev experience, its so easy for me to think of theoretical ways to improve the stupid drone mechanic. Im thinking about puzzle-solving games like Portal 1 & 2 and how they seamlessly introduce new puzzle elements, making sure the player understands them before upping the challenge and combining them with previous puzzle elements. I can see the drone starting off as a very basic tool used for interaction, but evolving to be far more useful with puzzles surrounding it. Imagine once you get to the areas that have those large gaps, you get a claw grabber attachment that would allow you to move platforms or interact with buttons by dropping crates on them. Or if you got a camera installed and were able to backtrack to areas the player was too big to go into before, such as a ventilation system that leads to a hidden room? I have no idea how id properly implement these ideas, but it'll at least keep the mechanic from going stale seeing as the drone remote is glued to you for the majority of the games.
@2X-Smiles Thanks for providing tips on how to make a successful mascot! I'm writing a book franchise for a mascot character, a cat creature that was once human before splicing his DNA with that of a housecat. I won't spoil it for everyone, but that's what I'm planning on doing. So, thanks a bunch! ;)
The brothers... uhm... they made a introvert school simulator (its problematic...) It has gen z humor like "my ass itches". They also lied about that Portuguese language in their discord server. Saying that it never existed. And also they should stop using glossy textures as their main material for making awful games.
@@2X-Smiles and in the garten of crap crap 6 game when you got in that 3rd sector (purple room) the 50% of the game is covered in grass (there is secret stairs at the left) I get what Faris and Ghepo are trying to do. Trying to test out things but is there that little play testing THE PUZZLES ARE SO FUCKING LONG...
Great video! I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved the music you put in, especially the Sonic Unleashed songs since that game was part of my childhood ^-^
This is the first that I've actually seen of the game. Sure, I've heard of it, that it somehow lowered the bar of crappy mascot horror games churned out in bite-size chunks so they can get something out the door as quickly as possible for RUclipsrs to hopefully cover for content and kids will want merchandise of the latest "what if kid's thing was edgy" thing that popular internet person they like played. Like, first there was FNAF that was low budget but became a breakout success not unlike The Blair Witch Project or Paranormal Activity, although those films didn't spawn nearly as many sequels as the horror mascots I grew up in what with lacking a proper mascot, but they achieved big success with a less is more approach and were novel at the time of their releases, not unlike the original FNAF. Mix the warped kid's mascot approach with the run-hide-clench and occasionally solve a puzzle gameplay of the OG of people overreacting to a horror game with a face cam, Amnesia, and get a demo out the door as quickly as possible, quality and length be damned, maybe sell the demo as a first chapter, but the real goal is to sell merch, and all these years later you get Poppy Playtime merch spotted in the wild when all that was out gameplay-wise was basically a short walking sim followed by a quick chase sequence and its like printing money. I heard that this game was somehow even more egregious, that concept taken to its inevitable conclusion. And the name, it hurt my brain. It sounded like something that would appeal to very young children while being such word salad that "Garten" and "Ban" didn't even seem like actual words anymore. Ah well, at least the audience for this is probably so young that they haven't had Portal spoiled for them yet, if they've even heard of it. I'd bet it would immediately raise the standards of the entire generation of kids that play these games if they got hold of it.
Heh, yeah, imagine showing older games to these kids that also happen to be a lot better. I did that once actually, using Flashback I showed Fancy Pants Adventures: World 1 to a fifth grader once, the kid was mind blown!
You will change your mind once you see the 7th game trailer, IT WAS AWESOME!!!! I think Banban has a lot of potential if it can focus more on the fever dream type horror. Idk how to explain it.
The worst part of Banban having those unnecessarily long walking sections is how infinitely boring they are. Long walking sections can be done right. They can even add value. There are are various games that have shortcuts or teleporters where I spend a significant amount of time still taking the longer route, simply because the environment and details are worth focussing on, or because the way you can jump, climb and occasionally fly around is satisfying. If Garten of Banban just put a little effort into adding, I don’t know, more posters or random anomalies to those long hallways, that would be a significant improvement. But we all know that neither character nor entertainment is a priority here.
Off topic, but the Sonic Unleashed music kept me invested in this video~ On topic, I love how this taught me so many new things about character modeling~
Heyy! i just wanted to say that your video was shown to me in my reccomended, to thats pretty great. As of the critique, the points you made are on spot for what most people say about the game and thats just the truth, as a fan of GOBB honestly i find all those flaws part of the games own way of entertainment, its broken, wonky but with characters that you yourself can translate into a miriad of things, and all that has made me appreciate its sillyness, i do hope that in future installments they keep improving the core aspects of the game for it to be a bit more enjoyable for everyone. ♥
Hey just wanna say im making a garten of banban au where all the problems are fixed Its medivel themed where all the places, charcters and lore are now medivel and i took some of the things in this video that told to improve more into this au Like on desighs and story but not game and mecanics since im not a game dev
Just gotta say this is the first video I’ve seen from you and wow your voice is soothing, and every character’s expressions and pose! Chef’s kiss wonderful
Jumbo Josh is peak, nothing will ever be as good once you have seen Jumbo Josh fight an entire army. To be fair to the Brothers this was their first 3D game.
I like your vids so much I dont know why you still dont have like 100000 subs😅 edit: you could do a vid about poppy playtime😊 edit: wally stare made my heart pop out of my chest
I have played the first four games. I do understand some of your points. There were some moments that took much longer for me to complete than they should have, especially in the third game, but in the end, I enjoy the game for what it is.
It's better than Hello Neighbor will ever be, I'll give it that. At least this series kinda improved as it went on and manage to actually get somewhere other than just mindlessly leading people on for over a decade.
44 minute long video essay on how and why a silly dumb objectively bad game series that don't even take itself seriously is indeed an objectively bad series of games
I respect your opinion about this series but i think garten of banban is evolving and is getting better because of its upcoming 7th game its shows lots of improvement on the polygons on characters and the character designs might get much better.the devs are gonna take a long time to get things just right and hopefully it will be s redemption of the series. It still might be more appealing to kids but they improved a lot
Maybe garten of banban would be greater with different design, different story, different gameplay mechanics, different personalities of the characters, different artists, different game developers, different merch, and a different map.
20:31 KURURU?! KURURU SOUCHOU?!?! I gave this video a like because it's a very well worded breakdown on why Banban is a dumpster fire of a game series. But I gotta subscribe now, for the inclusion of my favorite Sgt. Frog character-
This is my first time hearing about this game, and Bitter Giggle kinda looks like an extremely simplified version of Karzahni from Bionicle to me…which considering this is meant to be a horror game, that weirdly fits.
9:18 I feel like Fnaf models and Garten Of BanBan models are barely comparable. Because you can tell that most of Scott’s Fnaf models have a lot of time and effort put into the designs (especially Springtrap) While Garten of BanBan models are clearly cheaply made and don’t have the kind of soul the Fnaf models do.
No actually???? Banban is peak gaming and clears RE, Silent Hill, FNaF, and Baldi’s like Martin Scorcese said Banban was peak and said David Lynch should direct the Banban movie alongside writing by Quentin Tarantino and starring Tom Holland as Banban, in fact Banban is so peak it basically is the reason why it saved the gaming industry in 1985, people say its Nintendo but it was actually the Euphoric Bros time traveled and made Super Banban Bros but Nintendo stole it…. Like put respect on peak fiction or I will get Captain Fiddles to eat all your cheese smh
Interesting we compare Garten and MFN. Another quirk on the pace of the games? MFN is actually a pretty solid speed game. There's a ranking system based on the speed you play through it, so if speed and light horror are your thing? MFN has a lot of value to squeeze out of it and rewards for speedy completion. Then you have Garten, which... Has explicitly been drawing itself out to make sure getting refunds is incredibly hard while trying to complete the game. The Philosophies are quite telling.
12:25 heck, even one of the very first revolutionary 3D video games does this! when you zoom the camera out in Super Mario 64, Mario's model will be replaced with a lower poly version, and his normal higher poly model will appear again when you zoom back in. modern Nintendo games still do this. i get that the Ban Ban devs aren't the greatest devs in the world (i mean they literally are just two guys) but this is a very common and needed optimisation feature that is in, like, almost every 3D game. the lack of basic model optimisation in this game baffles me.
Honestly, with the character designs, I don't think much needs to be changed for them to do what they're meant to achieve. Obviously, fix those ridiculously high polygons and the textures, but also fix the alternate designs of the characters to make them more unsettling and give the normal characters things that give them some personality/separate them from eachother (Ex: Different idle animations), and finally, lighting. Most of the lighting in the game is either very bright, or too dark to see anything, including the characters. Lighting is highly important, and some of the most creepy character designs just look goofy or mildly uncomfortable to look at in normal lighting- That doesn't fix all the other problems, but seriously there could've been more done to make the characters more interesting
Do you think you could review the game Eversion if given the chance please? Not many people know about that game, and I'd love to see it get more attention because it's one of the oldest and best indie horror games I've seen.
There is 1 engine that has the capability to properly cull exta triangles in real time, but 1ts: its the unreal engine, and 2nd: they need to be built for it, using minimal standard tricks, cus its a fancy way to precull and change lod on the fly, and its great at polygon trimming and merging, before it gets to the gpu
I have played a game that renders cutscenes in real time.. and that would be stray. Stray is NOT a horror game. But it is fucking beautiful. It’s a very demanding game. My poor laptop can run it at like 30fps on medium graphics as long as the computer is on a stand so it doesn’t overheat. But the MOMENT a cutscene starts… god it’s like a bomb goes off. ALL of Stray’s cutscence visuals render in real time. But all the audio is pre recorded? So it creates this issue where it desyncs with the scene and eventually the game just goes quiet. I love stray but man i wish they didn’t do this 😕 I think cutscenes could help this Banban a ton. Typically an cutscene in a game serves as exposition, even if minor. An example of that could be Rain World! Its base campaign opens with nothing more than some cute drawings explaining who you are, and how you got here. But other games like to go all out with this kind of stuff. Regardless. The game is lacking in a story and literally anything could help.
Not only should the drone have been more helpful and useful, it could’ve been an amazing liability and even obstacle in later levels. Imagine if they got galvantium on the fuckin drone! I cannot believe the drone’s greatest flaw is its inability to TAKE CORNERS and not for example: - battery loss issues - sarcastic little bitch voicelines - sending coordinates and other information about the player to enemies - growing weird, play-doughy organic masses for the drip - deliberately missing targets to allow enemies to gain ground in a chase - attacking the player directly This thing could have been not just a mechanic but also an ally, an illustration of the plot device magic monster serum, a spy and even a traitor. I don’t even care how long I’m walking and listening to dialogue, the drone means more to the player than watching a kangaroo court martial for a character whose motives I am four degrees separated from, even if Bittergiggles had a great design, well written and well delivered lines.
They could've given the drone a personality and tied it into being more personal or more mechanically robust and sophisticated for the game. Just like what Deltarune and Undertale both did for their actions and what almost every single Lego game did for each of their characters.
Genius
I get that but it's also really funny watching someone like UhYeah bitching about the game and just hearing the drone make it's little happy drone sounds in the background
what do you mean by "tied it into being more personal or more mechanically robust and sophisticated for the game"?
Yeah.
The characters from this game were destined to be made into cheap toys in those sketchy vendors at fairs and malls
Tbf, I did see a vendor section in Japan with Garten of Banban merch (saw it in a video)
@@2X-Smiles I've already seen bootleg banban merch in NYC before so yeah that tracks lmao

To me, it just means that they literally are nothing more than low hanging kiddy material, either made by folks that have the skills of a child, or made by actual children and then taken by the devs for their games.
that is interesting to say the least
it makes me wonder what would happen if someone genuinely tried to make a "horror game for kids" instead of just a crappy mascot horror game that just ends up being marketed towards kids anyway cuz of designs, regardless if it's spooky or not
Yeah. I definitely believe that the designs themselves work in the fact that it hits the target audience. The only problem is that it's supposed to be a horror game, and they do nothing that actually makes them unnerving. Then again, if the target audience is children, that might be considered a plus...?
@@mintykiwi don't even bother playing it , it's literal dog dookie
Probably would take a lot of work, but I really wanna see these characters move like claymation
I feel like that would give this game at least some identity
Oh actually, that would be a sick gimmick tho, ngl
The guy who voiced Banban is Ghepo (one of the Euphoric Brothers) and what's funny to think why his voice sound like this way, it looks like if the devs were making the chapter 2 and they didn't who should voice Banban.
Faris: "Okay bro, the chapter 2 from our game is almost done-done but we need a voice actor for Banban as well!"
Ghepo: "So who would be his voice actor?"
Faris: "Well, I dunno."
Ghepo: "Me neither."
Faris: (Slowly turning his eyes on Ghepo)
*The scene skipped to the voice acting room.*
Ghepo: "Sigh... Fine, I would be Banban..."
Whether it's true or not, but it seems like if Ghepo was forced to be the voice actor for Banban since the 2nd chapter.
Should also note that I'm pretty sure the other brother did stinger flynn.
@@mom0367 ok
I heard you talking about how the drone can "carry you & items around" and I was like
"COUGH COUGH PEARL DRONE FROM SPLATOON 3 SIDE ORDER COUGH COUGH"
Shes a great example of a drone gimmick tbh
Totally agree. It really feels like Garten started a trend of just making cheap video games and calling it a day.
The creators perfected the method to waste the players time so they couldnt refund the game
Not perfected, its still possible to beat the games in less than 2 hours

@@2X-Smiles Yeah, it's a great game. I haven't finished it yet though.

catnap:
on thing about the inconsistent writing I find is this:
they cna't seem to decide who the antgaonist is, or which of the mascots is antagonistic or even WHY they're antagonistic.
The amount of time and effort put into researching this is very impressive. I’m so happy that you’re back after your absence :3

YES! >:D
Jesters voice actor deserves more then just Banban💀
Sheriff and the queen voice actor deserves too :(
Bro put his heart into it
Not gonna lie, I thought BanBan’s voice sounded like Simon Henriksson from Cry of Fear when his VA was just starting voice acting.
I'm 99% sure Banban is a ripoff of Red Guy from dhmis.
I have no idea what is going on in this game. The devs claim its satire but, it feels like an excuse for how terrible everything is.
the glamrock freddy polygons was a legitimate jumpscare
Amazing job! As someone who has no clue what garten of banban is, this was incredibly interesting and I learned a bit more on how game development works. Also I didn’t know Scott Cawthon modeled Foxy in a car lol.

I haven’t seen any of your videos before. I was not prepared to see my beloved little froggy Kululu!
I laughed pretty hard when I saw the devs were using a cassette tape as a VHS.
i personally think the biggest sin of banban was the non-menacing enemy design, in games like poppy playtime (ch 3 espicially) had very unique yet creepy and menacing design, in garten of banban, its just some colored blob with horrible textures and default white spheres for eyes.
(yes ik im 5 days late to this)
I can't imagine the sheer amount of mental torment and anguish you've went through to see this video to it's end
Take the sub miss!!!! You totally earned it
Yea, there was a lot of pain that went into making this video lol
^^,
I think I know what made those models so high-poly (I'm not a 3D modeler either so take what I say with a grain of salt as well).
His experience in modeling SERVERLY out weighs alot of other developers, he's had years of experience and I believe was modeling since one of his first games "The Legend of Flan."
Ahem, rant aside, I'll conclude this with a funfact Ban-Ban related. On topic of models, Ban-bans models are horridly optimized! Have fun sleeping with the thought Banban has a bigger poly count then like half of the Super Mario 64 game.
It's straight up the equivalent of if the Morbius sweep was unironic and Sony chose to make a gd franchise out of it

Not finished with the video just yet, but this is really interesting so far!! Great job ^^

So, thanks a bunch! ;)
The brothers... uhm... they made a introvert school simulator (its problematic...)
It has gen z humor like "my ass itches". They also lied about that Portuguese language in their discord server. Saying that it never existed. And also they should stop using glossy textures as their main material for making awful games.
Oh, I'm very much aware of School Simulator and that's part of the reason why I'm harsh on them for their money-making practices

In all seriousness this video is really good and I enjoyed watching it a lot
I am making a horror game that took insprition from indigo park, poppy playtime, rainbow friends and garten of banban but pls don't attack me.
I love the art in your videos so much oh my god ❤❤
Off topic, but the Sonic Unleashed music kept me invested in this video~ On topic, I love how this taught me so many new things about character modeling~

15:10 You drew the cigarette backwards.
If ya'll think kids model like the devs that ain't true, at least for me. In my opinion I made a way more optimized though basic model for banban.
Hello fellow Deltarune fan!
Lighting is highly important, and some of the most creepy character designs just look goofy or mildly uncomfortable to look at in normal lighting-
That doesn't fix all the other problems, but seriously there could've been more done to make the characters more interesting
Do you think you could review the game Eversion if given the chance please? Not many people know about that game, and I'd love to see it get more attention because it's one of the oldest and best indie horror games I've seen.
The new trailer for garten of banban that was just released is surprisingly good! I'm...kinda intrigued! Hopefully it's...not going to be bad.
I love stray but man i wish they didn’t do this 😕
I think cutscenes could help this Banban a ton.
I cannot believe the drone’s greatest flaw is its inability to TAKE CORNERS and not for example:
- battery loss issues
- sarcastic little bitch voicelines
- sending coordinates and other information about the player to enemies
- growing weird, play-doughy organic masses for the drip
- deliberately missing targets to allow enemies to gain ground in a chase
- attacking the player directly
This thing could have been not just a mechanic but also an ally, an illustration of the plot device magic monster serum, a spy and even a traitor. I don’t even care how long I’m walking and listening to dialogue, the drone means more to the player than watching a kangaroo court martial for a character whose motives I am four degrees separated from, even if Bittergiggles had a great design, well written and well delivered lines.
