If the devs really leaned into the satire interpretation, like TheMeatly did with his most recent game, I think this game can genuinely be good. But as of now and how the devs are acting at the idea of their game being satire, yeah, it should be an example of what NOT to do.

I look back at Slender and FNAF with a moment of happiness, but when this game came out, it was not it. It sucked so much, the gameplay is just awful. I liked Slender, FNAF, Bendy, Poppy Playtime, and I don't like the roblox indie horror games, and hello neighbor. I miss when indie horror was a passion project.
They always have been. There always are indie games with passion that honestly lots just throw aside to fit the argument. Happys humble burger farm? Shipwrecked 64? Amanda the adventurer?? Honestly, some roblox games are pretty decent, as someone who’s worked on a roblox game, I know what gets put into them, there are some good horror games made by people that aren’t popular, he’ll look at unknown memories. Yeah it’s based off fnaf, but it’s voice acted, has custom models and animations, and overall doesn’t look like it’s made in roblox.
Speaking of Mascot Horror, Tattletail is extremely underrated and overlooked today. I get that it did have a rather significant impact on the internet when it came out, but Tattletail really was one of the first really good responses to the Fnaf series and proved that the mascot horror genre wasn’t a one time thing. It’s simple, spooky, and plain fun, and that’s all it really needed to be.
I remember a while back, maybe a year or two? I saw in almost every store at a shopping centre in Scotland, bootleg huggy wuggy plushies, and cheep plastic pop-it toys. I was shocked that they were at the window of Clarks, a well known shoe store. I hope this does not happen again with banban.
Piggy started off as a joke game based on Granny/Peppa Pig. It wasn’t intended to be popular, but it gathered an audience. It actually has a lot of passion put into it, it’s not incredibly scary, but in Book 2, which no critic usually gives a chance, it picks itself up and becomes a story driven game. It later got merch because, well, why not? It also moved itself away from peppa pig to become it’s own thing (and not wanting copyright potential). Say what you please about the game, but it doesn’t deserve to be compared to Rainbow Friends.
Of all the "modern" indie horror game, this one feels the most cynically made, they know its gonna make money, they know its gonna sell a shit ton of merch, and yet people fell for it, and even people have gaslit themeselves into thinking its a parody when it clearly isn't, this is just a a low effort cynical mess that is unpleasent to play and look it, stop defending it
At first, I was with the parody crowd too. ...But then I realized that the merch store is real. Had it just linked to a parody page with clearly farcical items, then yeah, it would have been obvious what the intent was. But because they had merch ready to go from day 1, it's even more obvious that this is a quick cash grab to capitalize on Poppy. Then they acted all butthurt on twitter, and after that I have no idea how ANYONE could still think this is satire.
Firstly, many of your points are hard to argue with. But that is because they are just generalizations and don't talk about any of the specific problems of the games. You can't expect me to respect your argument if you don't put evidence into it. Secondly, I'd tell you to stop attacking Garten of Banban but I can't, because nobody can take away anybody's freedom freedom of speech, which means that you have no right to silence my opinions. Thirdly, the Euphoric Brothers didn't expect their game to go popular when they first created it. They expected it to stay pretty small like many other games and only get a few players.

1:10 Piggy was actually originally meant as a joke game of 'haha what if we made peppa pig horror ooOoOoo', but eventually they got a bigger playerbase, so they tried to distinguish themself from the original show and add lore to gain some respect for themselves (the results are kinda iffy based on who you ask lol)

Some game jams allow you to use pre-made assets but I think most don’t. Game jams also challenge devs into trying out new things, and maybe this game was them trying that out. So maybe this wouldn’t get hate if it was in a game jam? Probably not, as it does lack design and quality.

Garten of Banban’s lack of effort hurts me in more ways than one. I used to be a janitor at an Elementary school after hours and I can tell you: An actual horror game that takes place in a school has a lot of potential (Baldi doesn’t count). The place was actually terrifying when all the lights were shut off, especially the bathrooms; gave me Slender vibes. If someone wants to make an actually scary game in a school, by all means it still has potential, and I do wanna see one with ACTUAL EFFORT.
Dust: An Elysian Tail is one of the smoothest and most fun experiences I’ve had playing a video game, and besides voice acting and some help on the writing, that game was made by 1 person!

Garten of banban is truly one of the horror games of all time, the characters were characterized, the models were modeled, the plot was written, and the game was made. The best part was when the opila bird said "it's birdin time" and birded all over the kindergarten. Truly one of the horror experiences ever

This is an amazing opportunity to promote Amanda The Adventurer. A game, which is a dark found footage horror game that is a dark spin on Dora The Explorer. It is well done, made with passion, and is actually terrifying.

Piggy was not really meant be a game, it was just the creator (minitoon) testing his skill in player tracking and scripting. He mixed Peppa Pig and horror, it accidently got popular and so in chapter 4, he really ramped it up. So no, Minitoon didn't want a cash grab, we wanted to test his skill for scripting.

Actually since you brought up games made by small dev teams there are some really good indie horrors made by just a person or two but they tend to not be mascot horror. I feel it may be an age thing as a lot of indie horror I see is PS1 inspired so I assume most people making them are in their 30s (and thus a little too old to have grown up on FNAF). Hopefully as the years go by there will be a shift towards mascot horror being less soulless cash grabs and more passionate devs that actually grew up on those titles.
There is a game I’ve watched that unfortunately, makes Garten of Banban look as if it was a good game (and I’m not saying this to offend the devs or anyone). Hide Time. A game that is heavily inspired by Poppy Playtime that does not look fun to play. But yeah, this is an awesome video. And I do hope mascot horror devs can start to make great games again.

Dark deception is another great horror game that is ignored by many people. It combines pacman with a very unique horror experience including monsters inspired from classics. The game is pretty big with solid gameplay and AMAZING graphics. And the game was made by only 3 people. Its a shame that its being overshadow by poppy playtime and even garten of banban. Both garten of banban 2 and 3 trailers blew up on millions of views while dark deception chapter 4 views barely reached above 600k. Its infuriating.

It honestly makes me sad to see mascot indie horror become like this. Say what you will about FNAF, Bendy, Choo Choo Charles, or any others, but you can tell they had a lot of effort and heart put into them, especially FNAF. Banban is just a soulless husk that barely gets a reaction out of me - let alone a scared one - when I look at it. All they seem to care about these days with mascot horror is money and trying to pander to kids. This is why, to me, FNAF will always be the best.
I've said it a lot on other videos that cover this game. There's other better Indie Horror games that have come out but they never get recognition in favor of crap like this. Look at at games like Alisa on steam it's a resident evil like that does eldritch horror and killer dolls or Lost in Vivo by KIRA. They're one of the best indie horror devs like ever. The ocean is vast but people keep casting thin nets and catching garbage like Poppy Playtime and this seriously it's not hard to find better games

Compare garten of banban with lethal company Lethal company was made by 1 dev, it has an original artstyle, none of the monsters are shown in the front page, so no one gets spoiled, the game’s monsters’ mechanics are more original and actually well scripted, and each assets, props, ragdolls and models fits to the environement of the game. Banban has so many colors that don’t fit into the area they are placed, like bro, cyan and red don’t fit to the same environement. Lethal company also does makes it logical that you’re in a facility, sure the mansion part wouldn’t make sense, but the mansion at least has fitting colors and fiting lightning, And don’t get me wrong, since zeekerss is a furry, many peoples just refunded lethal company, all because zeekerss was a furry, what did zeekerss do? NOTHING, he didn’t get mad, he didn’t cry, he didn’t insult peoples, well, who would want cringey kids in their game anyways (sorry CoD devs for your suffering), he just continued updating the game ignoring those kids and thats all, banban’s dev got mad because peoples refunded their game made in 5 minutes, thats like getting mad because someone refunded your tech demo, thats illogical, oh and to clear all out, VALVE doesn’t like peoples who neglect refunding, Yeah the game is ‘’fun’’. The second i got in, i was already bored. Not only is the game bad but the merch is ridiculously overpriced. For a little context I am an artist and I’m starting a sticker shop in one to two months to earn some extra money. I’ve already got everything worked out behind the scenes and just have to finish my a few designs. Since I got all my prices worked out I was curious about how much the banban stickers were being sold for versus what I would pay for the same sticker. Just a disclaimer but this is only a rough estimation since we probably don’t use the same company to print stickers so price will vary. Math time! Unless if you don’t like math in which case you can just scroll to the bottom. Okay for starters you get to pick the sticker size but from what I can tell the price doesn’t change if you get a bigger or smaller sticker so for the purpose of this I am going to use the biggest size you can get the 5x5 inches one. So the way the website I’m planning on using is Vograce and one you order the stickers in groups of ten so we will divide our answer by ten for the price of one sticker, and two they don’t let you make stickers bigger than 4x4 so I just subtracted the price of the 3x3 sticker to find how much the price changes between one inch and added that to the price of the 4x4 so I could get an estimation of about how much a 5x5 would cost. 4x4 inches (for ten stickers) = 7.88 3x3 inches (also for ten stickers) = 5.25 7.88 - 5.25 = 2.63 7.88 + 2.63 = 10.51 10.51 / 10 = 1.051 *FINAL ANSWER* One 5x5 inch sticker would cost $1.05 (rounding down) That is a little under 1000% profit. How is this legal? I’m not just angry I’m also disappointed. Even if they pay more for stickers it can’t be more then $1.20 per sticker. Also remember that this is best case scenario where you buy the biggest sticker. Oh my god this is literally insane. Rip my faith in humanity capitalism has taken over. this may or may not be a cash grab but the quickest of google searches shows that the creators are teenagers so if it looks like a clone of another game, that’s probably because it is, because that’s what you do the first few times you make stuff, regardless of medium.

I look back at Slender and FNAF with a moment of happiness, but when this game came out, it was not it. It sucked so much, the gameplay is just awful. I liked Slender, FNAF, Bendy, Poppy Playtime, and I don't like the roblox indie horror games, and hello neighbor. I miss when indie horror was a passion project.

Honestly, some roblox games are pretty decent, as someone who’s worked on a roblox game, I know what gets put into them, there are some good horror games made by people that aren’t popular, he’ll look at unknown memories. Speaking of Mascot Horror, Tattletail is extremely underrated and overlooked today. I get that it did have a rather significant impact on the internet when it came out, but Tattletail really was one of the first really good responses to the Fnaf series and proved that the mascot horror genre wasn’t a one time thing. It’s simple, spooky, and plain fun, and that’s all it really needed to be.

Piggy started off as a joke game based on Granny/Peppa Pig. It wasn’t intended to be popular, but it gathered an audience. It actually has a lot of passion put into it, it’s not incredibly scary, but in Book 2, which no critic usually gives a chance, it picks itself up and becomes a story driven game. It later got merch because, well, why not? It also moved itself away from peppa pig to become it’s own thing (and not wanting copyright potential). Say what you please about the game, but it doesn’t deserve to be compared to Rainbow Friends.

Of all the "modern" indie horror game, this one feels the most cynically made, they know its gonna make money, they know its gonna sell a shit ton of merch, and yet people fell for it, and even people have gaslit themeselves into thinking its a parody when it clearly isn't, this is just a a low effort cynical mess that is unpleasent to play and look it, stop defending it
At first, I was with the parody crowd too.
...But then I realized that the merch store is real. Had it just linked to a parody page with clearly farcical items, then yeah, it would have been obvious what the intent was. But because they had merch ready to go from day 1, it's even more obvious that this is a quick cash grab to capitalize on Poppy.

I used to be a janitor at an Elementary school after hours and I can tell you: An actual horror game that takes place in a school has a lot of potential (Baldi doesn’t count). The place was actually terrifying when all the lights were shut off, especially the bathrooms; gave me Slender vibes.
If someone wants to make an actually scary game in a school, by all means it still has potential, and I do wanna see one with ACTUAL EFFORT.

Piggy was not really meant be a game, it was just the creator (minitoon) testing his skill in player tracking and scripting. He mixed Peppa Pig and horror, it accidently got popular and so in chapter 4, he really ramped it up. So no, Minitoon didn't want a cash grab, we wanted to test his skill for scripting.

Actually since you brought up games made by small dev teams there are some really good indie horrors made by just a person or two but they tend to not be mascot horror. I feel it may be an age thing as a lot of indie horror I see is PS1 inspired so I assume most people making them are in their 30s (and thus a little too old to have grown up on FNAF). Hopefully as the years go by there will be a shift towards mascot horror being less soulless cash grabs and more passionate devs that actually grew up on those titles.

Dark deception is another great horror game that is ignored by many people. It combines pacman with a very unique horror experience including monsters inspired from classics. The game is pretty big with solid gameplay and AMAZING graphics. And the game was made by only 3 people. Its a shame that its being overshadow by poppy playtime and even garten of banban. Both garten of banban 2 and 3 trailers blew up on millions of views while dark deception chapter 4 views barely reached above 600k. Its infuriating.

Lethal company was made by 1 dev, it has an original artstyle, none of the monsters are shown in the front page, so no one gets spoiled, the game’s monsters’ mechanics are more original and actually well scripted, and each assets, props, ragdolls and models fits to the environement of the game. Banban has so many colors that don’t fit into the area they are placed, like bro, cyan and red don’t fit to the same environement. Lethal company also does makes it logical that you’re in a facility, sure the mansion part wouldn’t make sense, but the mansion at least has fitting colors and fiting lightning,

Like man there’s not one part of the game that doesn’t have the feeling of ‘’where the f### do i go’’ i finished the first chapter in 20 minutes because the puzzles were so badly made. I don’t think i would even replay or buy the other games.

And it’s not a bad game, especially when you consider it more as a puzzle game with horror elements, I don’t even know if the merch is from Minitoon or is just other companies profiting off of it, it’s not anywhere near a cash grab

Not only is the game bad but the merch is ridiculously overpriced. For a little context I am an artist and I’m starting a sticker shop in one to two months to earn some extra money. I’ve already got everything worked out behind the scenes and just have to finish my a few designs. Since I got all my prices worked out I was curious about how much the banban stickers were being sold for versus what I would pay for the same sticker. Just a disclaimer but this is only a rough estimation since we probably don’t use the same company to print stickers so price will vary.

Okay for starters you get to pick the sticker size but from what I can tell the price doesn’t change if you get a bigger or smaller sticker so for the purpose of this I am going to use the biggest size you can get the 5x5 inches one. So the way the website I’m planning on using is Vograce and one you order the stickers in groups of ten so we will divide our answer by ten for the price of one sticker, and two they don’t let you make stickers bigger than 4x4 so I just subtracted the price of the 3x3 sticker to find how much the price changes between one inch and added that to the price of the 4x4 so I could get an estimation of about how much a 5x5 would cost.
4x4 inches (for ten stickers) = 7.88
3x3 inches (also for ten stickers) = 5.25
7.88 - 5.25 = 2.63
7.88 + 2.63 = 10.51
10.51 / 10 = 1.051
*FINAL ANSWER*
One 5x5 inch sticker would cost $1.05 (rounding down)
That is a little under 1000% profit. How is this legal? I’m not just angry I’m also disappointed. Even if they pay more for stickers it can’t be more then $1.20 per sticker. this may or may not be a cash grab but the quickest of google searches shows that the creators are teenagers so if it looks like a clone of another game, that’s probably because it is, because that’s what you do the first few times you make stuff, regardless of medium.

Piggy was made originally as a joke game for the developer and his friends to play when they were bored. The developer started to add more to it and eventually wanted to make a full story. Finally he started making products because of how successful it was and he saw it as an easy way to make money.
When your game blows up, you kinda just go with it sometimes but he definitely wasn't a cash grab guy
