The majority of Mexicans don't celebrate 5 de mayo and also the tacos your making are based off of Americanized Tacos that are nothing like the ones we eat in Mexico if your going to make this about a Mexican celebration you could have at least made it about our Mexican Independence which is September 16th
It's just a fun little treat for those that do celebrate Cinco de Mayo here in the US. It's not meant to be directed at any one person or nationality, it's just a fun treat. I do realize these are nothing like the tacos made in Mexico.
I think these are very sweet and in no way meaning to disrespect our Mexican neighbors. It's clearly just an Americanized treat based on our version of a Tex-Mex taco. We Americans love to celebrate and embrace all cultures! It's good to know that Mexican Independence is Sept. 16th, though, I think I'll do a little something for that, then. Any suggestions, Monet?
