You could also use starburst candy or something simular, even red licorice for the tomatoes instead of fondant...nice cake!

I am so glad you posted this! My son wants an "It's raining tacos" birthday party and I was trying to figure out how on earth to make a cake LOOK like a taco! I'm no cake artist so this recipe is simple to follow without any "fancy footwork" so to speak. It's adorable and IF mine turns out as cute as yours, then he will be very happy (and hopefully his friends will be impressed) Hahaha!
The music is too loud, it drowns out her voice I fine. I wish it was a little lower.

My 12 year old niece & I are going to attempt this cake this week. I don’t have kids so I “borrow” her and we hang out and bake cakes and do arts and crafts. Then I send her home full of sugar. 🤣I’m looking forward to making this one.

Love this cake! I'm going to attempt it for a friends birthday - Just wondering how long it took you to decorate as I'm short on time and if I could make this 2 days before the event or if it would go yuk :)
you can def make it in advance! the buttercream will lock in all the moisture! Just be sure to refrigerate the cake, and take it out a couple hours before you plan to serve it!

Does chilling the layer help the cake from not falling apart? I usually use box cake but just thinking about simply picking it up the way you did worries me. I'm almost 100% sure my cake would fall apart if I were to do the same as you:(
Yes, it helps SO much! My layers are usually almost fully frozen when I decorate!
