    My mother passed away at 50.. she did not live long enough to have wrinkles or grandchildren. I am now 64 and have both and feel extremely blessed. I love getting the chance to get older.

    I'm only 17 and I love your channel. Despite being so young, I want to instill the narrative of aging having a sense of beauty to it instead of what the media currently portrays at such an extreme. You are so beautiful, and I hope to be just like you one day. We often forget as the younger generation that all humans are one in the same. Probably because we are scared ourselves of growing old. But without acceptance, peace isn't possible. 💜💜💜✨️✨️✨️

    I had a stroke at 59 and was told that because I was in good physical shape my recovery was great. It makes you grateful to experience something so life challenging. Then I turned 60 and became very depressed. I've since snapped out of it and now at 62, I'm ready to take on life again and I don't forget that keeping fit can come in handy for many things, I enjoy the little things even more than I used to. Thank you Margaret😅

Still, it’s a challenge to find purpose. Thanks so much for you’re show

    Accept, own, face, adapt, quiet, find, decide and appreciate. Completely agree. Thanks, Margaret. I think about these things a lot and practice them. What I would add is MOVE your body. Whether dance, yoga, walking, whatever. That is what has improved for me in my sixties. Starting at almost 60 doing daily exercise. At 67 I’ve come to appreciate the benefits that I seldom sought in earlier years because of raising kids and working and school and putting everything else first. Now, I give myself a couple of hours a day to stretch, dance, bike and quiet my mind. I also teach face yoga which empowers others to love themselves as they are and put their best face forward through exercise and kindness, aging with compassion and strength.

      @@alicemitchell5101 Thanks, Alice! You’re very kind. I agree acceptance can be hard, but it doesn’t mean giving in and giving up. It’s just taking a clear, honest look at your life and yourself and accepting what is and moving forward. I find at this decade a lot of friends and family are struggling with debilitating disease or anatomical issues. I appreciate daily the things I can do, even if it’s just picking up something off the floor with ease or washing my hair or twisting a lid open. It can be gone in a moment. I try never to take the small things for granted.

    I lost my only child when I was 40, my partner committed suicide the following year; I never got to have grandchildren, and yes I've learned to just love, myself and just how lucky I am. and grateful for the life I have; I keep myself busy and never think for one moment about aging, as every day, truly is a blessing... My love is clothes, designing jewelry, digital art, and abstract oil painting... and taking care of my health now that I'm ill. Now 66, Still love shopping, fashion, makeup, and generally feeling damn good about the way I look;
    When life hands you lemons, best make the sweetest lemonade...
    Your red sparkly beret; inspired me;
    Also, what's the highlighter that your using, I really love the tawny sheen;

    Hi Margaret: Yes, aging is tough, indeed, on many different levels. I do feel invisible on the outside, though I feel young on the inside. Accepting my age makes me think about mortality, so I don't think too much about a particular number. I'm trying hard, but, society makes it more difficult than it already is. I can't "deny" it anymore. It's a big challenge, much greater than any age bracket before. I'm grateful to be here, but, no one said it was easy. Thank you for a wonderful topic, and your suggestions on how to go forward. Stay safe and well! 🙏, Rosemarie 💖

    I needed to hear this so much right now. I'm 65 and although I don't have as much difficulty admitting my real age as some, as you were talking about having fallen I realized that I had been expecting myself to be 50 physically (below the neck activity). I'm not getting over infections near as fast as I did then and I fell the other day just climbing onto a chair (I'm ok - just achy). Other med problems have been around for a while (except achy days are newer), but I feel guilty enjoying sitting in my easy chair. Don't worry, I know the old maxim "use it or lose it" and won't be stopping all activity at all, Only not feeling guilty when I have to.
    As far as how I've improved with age - I don't go off "half cocked" at small things anymore. I'm learning more and more that when I get a worried thought that "it's not all about me" (may be a harder lesson for the "Me Generation"). Plus, I'm not quite as hung up on vanity as I was (even as an adult). Like you say "It is what it is".

    I don't mind my age but I do try to realize I need to take care of myself differently. I enjoy having enough experience that I know what I like and don't like and can speak up for myself as I couldn't do that when I was younger. Too worried about someone not liking it. haha now it is myself who gets to do what "I" like! Also started a relationship that was unexpected but a blessing having a companion. Looking forward to retirement.

    Margaret, I turned 40 last week and recently started noticing signs of aging; it depressed yet fascinated me. There's something rather bizarre about watching my face and body change yet it's sad in the sense that it feels as though a whole person has died inside me and a brand new person, who I'm not familiar with, is emerging. It's bittersweet. Watching your video gave me hope, strength and confidence. Your wisdom, humour and vibrance are commendable. Thank you for being my new mentor. Make every day count and take time each day to do something just for you and treat people with kindness.
    Learn to forgive and do not hold grudges. Keep healthy and happy. X

    For me, the isolation from family and the deprivation of accomplishment from no longer working are the most negatively impacting. I really miss being connected to those I believed would always be "my" people who have now drifted away. And I miss the usefulness and productivity of working. Right now I don't know how to resolve these challenges. I hope I can find a way.

    The ability to set healthy boundaries.
    Ability to kindly say no when I need to.
    Ability to know myself better and how to take care of my emotional, physical, spiritual etc. health in a more positive way.

    I am 35, and it was almost at the start of Covid that my depression began about aging. I am in the last phase of my Ph.D., and I have to finish my thesis as soon as possible. I am doing functional workouts three times a week and trying to run on the weekends, BUT, I am still not happy. I am afraid of losing my parents. Six years ago, I immigrated to Canada, and last year when I visited my whole family, I noticed most of them had gotten older, though it wasn’t clear on Skype. One day, when I talked about this with my friend, she told me, 'You've also gotten older to them; it's not just them!' And I thought, 'Yes,' I am getting older while my feelings are still like those of an 18-year-old girl. I completely understand my granny when she used to say, 'I feel so young,' and as a kid, I couldn't understand what she meant. Now, I completely agree. I need not think about aging because it really stops me from enjoying life. Thanks for this great video and all the great comments. Being an adult human is really a hard task.

I go visit with their family, the grand kids are online, the parents on their phone and me? well I'll wash the floors! what else do you want me to do? I can go home and be on my phone! no communications, no conversations, I am on my own more then when I am alone.

    Thank you for this video ! My personal problem about aging is, apart from having difficulties walking down stairs, is that I feel much younger than my age (76). I have my wrinkles and have decided to let my hair grow without colouring it so I can make chignons etc. (my grandmother had hair right down to her bottom - plaited and made into a bun, she was so beautiful !!!).
    I would say that loneliness is a problem, although I have my son and his wife living with me for 4 years. But I'm a solitary person and joining clubs for seniors is not my thing (just like my father) - that's my problem - lol

I am carrying the torch for them, but I must say that since turning 60 last year I have definitely seen a difference in my body. :-D It's ok though because I am accepting this aging body more and more as time moves on. Thank you for sharing this video! I've been hiding of how old I am for years now. I look young with my age and sometimes people would not believe that I am 40 years old. I really wish that I was younger coz I have so much things that I want to do. I have a very difficult childhood thats probably the reason why I'm very immature. I just dont know how to accept it and deal with the pain. I have been seeking professional help as well, just to help me with depression. It started when I'm trying to fit in with people at work coz some of my co worker wont believe that I was that old coz i dont look like it. I know lying and dodging age related question is bad and I know that I cant hide forever. Hope everyone can relate to my current problems and possibly help me with advise on what to do. Thanks!

    At 75, I have been able to accept many things, and survived many things. But my face and my hair are a real challenge for me. Don't mean to sound petty, but that is the toughest part of aging now. Survived cancer, joint replacement, heart problems, and yet this bothers me so. Why is that?

    so it is time to enroll in benefits at work. I work for insurance company. They justified their pitiful offerings (dental and vision are so NOT worth it; you pay more than you get!) by saying they have a lot of older workers who are more expensive to cover. Last time they said that, they laid off older workers. I almost hope I am on the list! so disgusted. "Do more with less, this isn't a 40 hour job (no kidding! most of us are working 60-80!), we are family", bs.
    so the point? It is REALLY important to value yourself, as the world clearly doesn't value you. But if you have in your heart you are worth what you really are worth? who cares! Be happy, ladies! 😜

    I am currently fed up with older men approaching me as if they have a chance to date me. I believe they are extremely entitled and they should pursue women their age or older.

    No one should ask another person How much money they have \ or their age. I have said that to a person who asked my age, it is personal information.
