With all of the turmoil in the world, your channel is a place I can come and relax.
Thanks so much!
This was so fascinating. Rebecca is a wonderful ambassador for Cornishware. We had no idea there were so many steps in the process and that the product is hand made. We're ordering some now. Thank you
Isn't Rebecca just delightful! She was incredible and we feel very honoured! Thank you so much for watching!
This was so special. I love when things are handmade, it makes me appreciate them even more. The dipping process was my favorite part, it really looks like magic. And, bravo Jörg, you showed us, again, you are one skillful man. 👌😊
Thank you so much! Yes, the dipping process is so so fascinating!
My mother had a set of blue and white Cornishware, for eight. There were plates, mugs, cereal bowls, and she also had a teapot, cream and sugar, pepper and salt and I believe a few serving bowls. One day I was visiting and there was a whole new china set. I asked what had happened to the Cornishware and she said she gave it to a charity thrift shop and purchased something more modern. I almost wept, saying, "Why didn't you give it to me, if you were getting rid of it?" She thought I would find it too old fashioned. I would have loved to have had the Cornishware and of course, I now realize the monetary value to it.
Oh, how disappointing! 🥺 Sorry that happened to you.
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! Sending you much love.
And it has such a beautiful weight and feel to it.
Oh wow, how upsetting for you😢 I would have been devastated!
Oh dear that's a shame. But you have something more precious than the China. Your memories of your mum which will stay in your heart. Buy yourself something nice in China and remember your mum with love x
Thank you both for this wonderful, fascinating tour. In the last few years I have felt dubious - almost ashamed - to be British, as our identity has been watered down. But I thank you for reminding me how much we have to be proud of and I am rediscovering my love for my own country as I watch your channel🙏🇬🇧
Awww I'm so so glad you enjoyed it! Sending so much love!
Always special to get your little message ♥. TY,
Absolutely charming! Thank you so much for sharing! I share your weakness for ceramics.
Lovely video thank you, Andrea I am British but live overseas and miss all that is wonderful about the British Isles. Britain has a very negative media and a lot of pressure groups demeaning the country but it is a compassionate country and a great place to live.
You can be very proud to be british !!
I love your country and my family and me can't wait to come to England and Scotland next summer again. It is such a beautiful country ! 🇬🇧♥️
T.G Green & Co Ltd in Church Gresley, South Derbyshire were the original manufactures of blue striped Cornish ware 1864-2007 . Production of Cornish ware started in the early 1920s at the time known as E-blue .it employed in its hat day up to 1000 people .
I am from a nearby village in South Derbyshire and remember TG green and it’s closure . I understood production was shipped abroad, it is great to see production of an old English brand coming back to England.
Maybe that explains the piece I bought off Amazon that has the trademark stamp and the box shows 3 copyrights but says 'made in china'.
I used to live not too far away and loved the factory shop, I still have lots of lovely pieces, there were lots of bargains!
I didn't realise there were so many colours. Love love love them.
FASCINATING to see so much hand work! I am a blue and white person myself 😊
❤️❤️❤️
Loved this video. What a pleasure to see how the Cornishware is made. Thank you so much for sharing.🍁
You are so welcome!
I love this episode! Cornishware is beautiful and I had no idea it is still made by hand! It is so classic and I admire it even more having seen the craftspeople creating it. Rebecca is charming and you did such a good job interviewing her.
Thanks so much!
My husband bought me a red and white Cornishware teapot from this company for my birthday just a month ago. It is exquisite. I was entranced watching how these beautiful pieces are made. I cannot wait to add to my collection. From near Atlanta, GA, USA.
Oh how lovely! Their teapots are so gorgeous!
Dear Kirsten - loved the tour at the pottery place - also loved to see how the pottery gets it paint. Great video and thank you!
Thank you so much!
Nice painting Jorge beautiful stripe mugs you bought nice quality 😊
Kirsten and Jeorg, I loved this video. I’m relatively new to your channel. I stumbled across it back in August when your video about your dream cottage, the Georgian gate house at the entrance to Wolterton Hall, was suggested. Intrigued, I decided to watch it and I’m so glad I did. It was delightful. I immediately subscribed to your channel, hit the notification bell (as one does) and I’ve been following your adventures at home, in the kitchen and out and about, ever since. Of course, I had to go back to the very beginning and catch up. I cannot express just how much I enjoy everything you do. Your videos fill me with such pleasure and inspiration and I enjoy the way you interact with each other and with us, your viewers. I had made a solemn promise to myself not to watch any of your Christmas videos until sometime in December. However, I recently succumbed to temptation and I’m so happy I did. A few days ago, I watched an older video in which you were decorating your Christmas tree and you put a wicker skirt at the base. I loved it and searched online and, I’m happy to say, I bought one today! It’s a good thing my resolve was weak and I broke that promise to myself. I want to thank you, with all my heart, for everything you do, and I look forward to your next video. Take care and bye for now🙂💕
Oh Susan, you are so very kind, thank you so much for your lovely words! I hope you enjoy your wicker skirt for your Christmas tree, we think it just looks lovely around a tree. Sending much love!
Oh looking forward….striped pottery..good times! ❤
Interesting and beautiful. Thank you for sharing Ms. Kirsten. Have a blessed day.

You have started me down this rabbit hole and I am loving it. Thank you so much for doing this. Would love to see more content like this. ❤
Thank you for the excursion!!!😍😍😍
Our pleasure!
Thank you for this fascinating video! It’s a joy to see you having such a wonderful time exploring and sharing British arts and crafts. I’d never guess there were so many steps in creating their hand made mugs!
You are so welcome! I know, it makes you appreciate the brand so very much!

Such A Wonderful Fascinating Tour. More Pottery. WOW !! 100 Year Old Cornishware. Beautiful Piece Of Pottery. Thank You For Another Great Video.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
That was such a wonderful tour of the pottery making process. The Cornishware is so gorgeous. Thank you Kirsten and Joerg for another amazing video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
If Joerg ever wants a career change, I think they would hire him
One can realize that Rebecca s so much involved and that she really loves what they are all doing there. I agree with you, dear Kirsten, Cornish Blue and Cornish Red are mst beautiful.❤
What a fascinating insight into Cornishware. I also didn’t realise that the name came from the clay and not the place of origin. I hope you get to keep the plate that Jeorg made such a good job of. You’re interviewing skills are so natural I really enjoyed listening xx
Thanks so so much!
What a delightful woman Rebeccas is, what a gorgeous video Kristen! Its been an awful week for me and you have just brightened up my day and week by giving me this little escape! Thankyou! 💐💐💐Too funny the baubles crashed the site .. very funny haha of all things! haha
Thank you so much Kirsten and Joerg, it was very interesting to see the whole process of making Cornishware and lovely to know that it is totally made in the UK. My favourite is the traditional blue and white!
You are so very welcome! Oh yes, the blue and white is so beyond beautiful!
Oh Kirsten, that was wonderful. I had no idea that Cornishware was handmade and didn’t come from Cornwall 😊 I have a few pieces we picked up in England in the blue color, but I love them all. You take us to the most wonderful places. Joerg looked pretty skilled and relaxed painting the plate. I appreciate Cornishware even more now and would like a few more pieces! Thank you..
Thanks so much Beverlee - such a wonderful brand!
Cornishware ist wunderschön. Eure Videos gehören wirklich zu meinen Lieblingsvideos, ich lerne so viel Neues kennen. Danke euch.
Oh wie sehr uns das freut! Vielen Dank!
This was so uplifting! How something so positive as company growth came from lock down! A ray of sunshine from the clouds, how absolutely wonderful! I think Joerg did a wonderful job! Then again, he does a great job at painting and wall papering ❤
We are so glad you enjoyed it! I agree, really happy for Cornishware that they're doing so well. We are excited for Joerg's plate to arrive and we will definitely share it in one of our videos.
Wow! Beautiful and so fascinating. Joerg is a natural after getting past his "deer caught in the headlight look." Dipping into the paint is so satisfying to my OCD. Thanks.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I love Cornishware and have a small collection. Such fun to see the factory. Thanks again xx
Oh so glad you do! Thank you so much for watching!
Omg, ,love this, handmade, the colors are beautiful and as always amazing video. Thank you very much!!!
Thank you so much!
I loved this video! I'm with you Kirsten. I'm all about plates and dishes. Joreg is one talented gent.
Thanks so much for this wonderful video about Cornishware…I have always liked it…I remember having the mugs as a child in England…it goes well with your polka dot kettle💗🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful facility. The pieces are fired 3 times, which I would have never guessed. Thank you for this visit.
You are so welcome!
Wow that was so fascinating Kirsten and Joerg. I’m a blue and white girl myself with pieces featured throughout my kitchen.
Plus I’d love one of those aprons!
Thanks so much! Yes, love the aprons too.
Love the red ..looks like these will be going on my Christmas list !! This could be an expensive video for me Kirsten and Joerg 😅
The most perfect Christmas gifts indeed!
How wonderful. I’ve yet to purchase any Cornishware, however I do have a passion for country living UK editions. And just got a new magazine today, we are a little behind you in the UK being in Australia. And like you Kirsten, I also find it relaxing. And today at Harry Harthogs I came across a 2024 calendar of Willam Morris designs! Thought of you both straight away. Thankyou for the wonderful tour, it was really interesting. All the best, take care.😃
Loved it! Wonderful video😊
Thank you!! 😊
This was so interesting to see. Thank you💚
Oh so so glad, thank you so much!
GOOD AFTERNOON - so interesting, a nice craft that is useful forever. Thank you for taking us into this wonderful place. Love, and be safe out there.
Thank you so much 😊
Kirsten & Joerg beautiful pottery so glad you shared this with us. We always enjoy hand made items. They always mean so much more. Especially if you know the craftsman. Cheers Ron & Dovie ❤
Thanks so much!
Thank you that was lovely and quite emotional for me to look into my grandad's life and work environment as he worked as head kiln stacker at T.G. Greens all his life from leaving school until his retirement at 65. They asked him to go back, so he went back until 75. He must have fired as it was called back then so much of this. My Memory as a child was of our house being full of Cornishware. I remember a big flour jar and one for loose tea and sugar. I did not see the salt and pepper pots as a mini lighthouse shape similar to the vases? I think they had a little lip overhang at the top and a slightly curved top. I only remember Yellow and blue, are the other colours a later development?
My grandad passed when I was three [1971] so I can hardly remember him. I have two scarfs of his which I wear and cherish, which apparently he always wore and a trilby according to my parents.
If anyone has or sees the little blackbirds with upstretched necks and open mouths in black with yellow beaks from Greens pottery they were for putting in pies to let out the steam through the pie crust, so the crust did not go soggy and collapse. Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie. A big pie. These used to sit on the shelves in our pantry. Having A cuppa, Yorkshire of course.
Oh what an amazing story, I can imagine that this must have been very emotional. Thank you so much for sharing! Yes, new colours were introduced over time. The red and white is a big success in the US.
@@KirstenJoerg The purple caught my eye. I am glad it is still a handmade process. Now I know how the stripes are done. when dipping the mugs none stuck to the handle at all. Are they already fired and glazed before attaching to the mugs?
@@KirstenJoerg I had a visit from my parents today now in their seventies and played them this post. It obviously brought back long forgotten memory`s particularly for my father, I think he was holding back a tear. He said he only went once with my grandad to his place of work to watch him and see what he did. He remembers him going up very tall step ladders carrying sanitary ware up on his shoulders into the top of the kiln as they were tall bottle kilns back then. He also said a lot of the women on the street worked there as the painters as they had smaller and generally a steadier hand. They have now gone home to rummage through old ornament boxes as they believe they still have some of it tucked away and forgotten about. He says he can remember the green colour being there from back then.
Oh, there is a display of the Cornishware at at a small museum in Swadlincote. I just found online, right under my nose so to say.I will go have a look. The salt and pepper pots are as I remember them.
Sweet to have a crockery problem!
Such an enjoyable video and an amazing, interesting tour. Fascinating to see how the Cornishware is produced. I love the stripes and colours. Thank you for sharing your visit. Just love your channel. You are a joy ❤❤
Thank you so much! Beyond happy you enjoyed it!
Oh !! All those stripes just make me smile !! 🕝 👍
Me too - they just make me happy!❤️
I've always loved Cornishware and the color range is so charming. Thank you for sharing the tour!
My favourite time of day! Hello Kirsten and Joerg from Canada! Love the experiences through your lens.
Thank you so much!
Can't wait to watch this !
My wife and I both love Burleigh and spode because of watching your wonderful videos and will probably now be purchasing cornishware ! 🙄😄 Best wishes guys 😊
Loved this, so informative, thank you so much Kirsten.
You are so welcome!
I so enjoyed this video and how lovely was Rebecca 😊 you can tell how much she loves her job!
She does, she is an amazing young woman.
I'm just not sure why I like Cornishware it's not something I'd normally go for - I like my chintz, but it is so appealing. Maybe its the simplicity of an unchanged design for 100 years that appeals. Had a look at the online shop and want everything but will limit myself to a few pieces for my Christmas present to myself - I deserve it. Thanks for the videos keep them coming.
I think it's such a cheery design that makes you happy and smile.
Absolutely loved this video. We used to have cornishware growing up and it was a delight seeing it come back and how she and her dad are running an iconic company. I share your enthusiasm and will be making my own purchase!
Fabulous tour - thank you for taking us with you!
@@KirstenJoerg 🤗
I really enjoyed seeing how cornishware is made..I now want a blue stripy mug..it’s great that it’s made in the UK ❤
❤️❤️❤️
I loved this tour thank you so much! I love the little green Christmas decoration and might have to splurge on one this year. I have been thrifting here in British Columbia, Canada for over 45 years. Very seldom do I come across Cornishware...but about 5 years ago I found a gold and white original Cornishware 1 pint Dreadnought Jug for $6!!! It is a treasure for me indeed. 🤗 God bless...hellooooo Joerg where ever you are. 😁
Thanks so much! Oh I agree, the Christmas baubles are so lovely. Wow, so glad you stumbled upon a dreadnought jug at such a great price.
This is amazing! Thanks for the very interesting tour.
You are so very welcome!
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. It was both informative and relaxing. What a great team of people.
Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
So glad you liked it, thank you so much!
Loved this trip , lots to learn from this interesting visit , thank you so much xx
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hoorah!!! Kirsten and Joerg day!🎉 We visited Cornwall for the first time this summer and I fell in love with that classic striped Cornishware. 💙🤍💙
So so happy you love Cornishware (the pottery is in beautiful Somerset ❤).
@@KirstenJoerg Finally got a chance to watch. My husband and I are on our honeymoon in Seychelles and there is barely any WiFi (I guess that’s a good thing.. 🤷🏻♂️🤣). What a terrific tour of the pottery studio. You’ve inspired me to start a wee Cornishware collection. I, too, love crockery and find it very hard to resist! Thanks for another wonderfully relaxing, educational and entertaining video. Cheers!
What a stunning episode! I think many of us can relate to the love of pottery and you always give us such a lovely glimpse!
I am in New York and we don’t get to enjoy all of those lovely places you go to. That was amazing people don’t realize the care and work it goes into making Cornish ware, very interesting video. Thank you.❤
Fantastic video, thank you. Cornish ware is my
Absolute favourite (blue is my fave) and I love collecting it and you are right it will never date! I am Somerset based and love the fact the company is based here too!
Thank you so so much! Yes, blue and white and red and white are my favourite colours but then again I love them all.
Dear Kirsten and Jörg, this was again an amazing and interesting video! Thank you so much! Love everything china and pottery ❤ again we look so much alike, Kirsten, I love all the pottery too and don’t have much space ( already have three kabinets full of pottery) and I have a magazine which I read every month, called Landleven, it is Dutch of course, but it is about countrylife, as I live in the country in a small castle. I love my cup of coffee in the morning, and in the afternoon a cup of tea.
Love from the Netherlands ❤
Thank you so much, so happy you enjoyed it!
Yay! More pottery. Was online last night looking at new China patterns. Love these videos 😊
Yay! Thank you!
This was so relaxing and informative. Rebecca was so sweet. Thank you for sharing your tour with all of us. I had physical therapy today and needed something calming to watch before bedtime. Your blouse was beautiful, by the way, and looked totally vintage. So happy you got some mugs. 😊
WOW! What a long tedious process. Cudos to the workers who take the time and care of producing such a lovely product. I would have never thought all those pieces were made by hand. Thank you for showing a truly old way of doing things.
Loved that you took us along with you...what beautiful pottery. I also loved your statement that you don't live in a mansion, don't have room for everything, but you still want everything...it made me chuckle. Thanks again, Kirsten and Joerg!!
very beautiful and interesting . I'd love if u do a similar video for Emma Bridgewater pottery too ❤
I really appreciate how the pottery is handmade. It's a magical process.
Oh, I love your new mugs, Kirsten and I loved seeing how Cornishware is made! How interesting and how special to be able to carry on the tradition all these years later. Looked like Joerg did an excellent job! I hope he gets to keep his piece. As always, thank you for another wonderful video.
Kirsten and Joerg day : ). I am sitting down with a nice drink to relax and what the lovely Kirsten and Joerg.
Wonderful! Thank you for ending with unwrapping two new, red Cornish mugs! The stripes are just the right width to have a fairly strong, yet somewhat whimsical presence - no matter what color mug(s) you choose! The design is so smart - it goes with anything, whether old fashioned or modern - well chosen design!
( I would have a hard time choosing which colors, too! The red is a fabulous choice!!! ❤!)
The mugs are simply beautiful!🥰 I loved getting to know the work of this factory. The doubt about which one to buy is cruel...👏👏💖
So glad you like Cornishware too!
Totally fascinating!!! I love education about your countries products. MOre
So so glad! Thank you!
Hi Kirsten and Joerg. Thank you for this terrific video. I loved the whole tour! All of the colors are wonderful, but I LOVE the red and white! Alas, I live in Oregon where I am unable to attend the sales.
We are so happy you enjoyed it, thank you!
Love watching your videos ❤ I've always wanted to visit England as I have heard many stories from my grandmother who was born there in the late 1880's. I like seeing all of the places you visit.
This was a very interesting and informative topic. I have done ceramics for a few years and appreciate the work that goes into making it. Thank you for taking us along on your journey 😊 Kelly from Ontario Canada
Thank you so much Kelly!
This is what I love about UK. There are many businesses which have been passed down for generations. Even if a new family, as in Rebecca's case, bought a business they keep the history alive by doing the work as generations before, but adding a modern take on it to function properly. The red is my favorite as my kitchen is red. Joreg did wonderful with his plate. I want the apron he was wearing but in red 😊. Thank you Rebecca for the in depth tour. Thank you Joreg and Kirsten for showing your subscribers another beautiful and great part of the UK. Kirsten, I am happy to see your Dad there. I know he has enjoyed himself. ❤
It is such beautiful pottery. And a beautiful video too ❤
So so glad you like it!
THANK YOU FOR THIS FASCINATING LOVELY CORNISHWARE TOUR!!!
💖💖💖💖💖
You are very welcome!
Very much enjoyed the tour of the Cornishware pottery shop and learning the process. Nice it is family run. Attention to details and quality. Brilliant colors! Wonder if they have a shop in the States? I think as our world is a bit rocky today, it is so comforting to bring back vintage...whether it be pottery, furnishings, clothing.
Thanks so much! They have the most beautiful online shop, it’s linked in the info box.
Спасибо большое за встречу с английским фарфором. Доброго утра и приятного чаепития с прекрасной чашкой. Открывайте каждое утро новый журнал , и весь мир к вашим ногам.
Send you Love ❤❤and waiting from Buenos Aires ☮️🫶💜
Какая красота! Очень хочу такой чайник и чашку! Уютная посуда, очень милая! Спасибо за видео!
I am a pottery painter, and I have a small kiln at my home here in West Devon. I used to go around to WIs (Women's Institute) and have taken a children's party, where the customers paint the bisc (items that have been in the kiln for firing once) then I hand glaze them, and fire them in my kiln, which takes about 24 hours - 12 hours to fire, and 12 hours to cool down - then they are ready to be taken away. Rebecca was very clear and easy to listen to, and also showed us that she does it herself, with the dipping in paint process. I was married to Nicholas chandler, who now lives in Saville, Spain, and is re married, who is a fantastic furniture designer maker. Things that are hand made are so precious I feel. Thank you for this video Kirsten, so beautifully filmed by Joerg, and so well edited, as always, such a professional job. xxx
Lovely video and tour, Kirsten! The stripes are so cheery!
Thanks so much! 😊 I agree, they make you happy!
I can imagine that you and Jörg must’ve so enjoyed this tour! You were totally in your happy place. It was fun to see how they make the pottery. Such high quality and craftsmanship! Sending lots of hugs and love to you guys! 💕
Oh Sarah, it was so much fun - a huge dream of mine! Sending you so much love.xxo
Loved seeing how Cornish ware is made. Thanks for taking us along!
I was glued to the screen!! I loved your tour and your guide was delightful and certainly passionate about Cornishware. I think I fell in love with the simplicity and playfulness of it too- those stripes can't help but be cheerful!!
Thank you so much, we are so happy you enjoyed it!
Excited for this!!
Really like to learn procedures like this. In this world to see handmade items that have been done like this for years is great.
What a lovely tour of Cornishware™️. Thank you Kirsten.Took a tour without taking a tour💕
Thank you so much!
