Harrenhall is a mess, but with it comes a lot of money through taxes from people that work the land, so whoever holds it also has quite a bit of power. That "baby" of the Red Women was a shadow. Melissandre talks casting shadows, but it requires King's blood, well now you've seen it.😊

Surely he could hire someone to clean up the messy parts and claim the money/power of it. The whole shadow baby situation you explained makes sense now. It takes a king. Which makes him the king.
@@ImmersiveReactions I think it's confusing on the show cause we only see the outside of the castle but in the book there's a whole chapter explaining how Harrenhall is a very important huge castle and it's very well organized and they have MANY servants and so forth. It's really a well oiled machine. I think it's because it is well placed strategically and everybody wants it, esp. during a war. Like the Lannisters go there to rest after a fight and so there has to be food prepared all the time. And that is where they plan their strategy.

The castle itself is so vast and deteriorated that it is almost impossible to maintain without injecting a ton of money and manpower in it. Also, all owners met quick deaths and/or tragic fates so it is said to be cursed. But it is strategically placed and the lands around it generate a lot of wealth.
You may have noticed that Gregor Clegane aka The Mountain is played by different actors in season 1 and season 2. In Season 1 the Mountain was played by Conan Stevens. They had to recast him because he got a role in "The Hobbit"-movies. In Season 2 the Mountain is played by Ian Whyte. Whyte played several characters in GOT for example a White Walker in the pilot episode.

@@ImmersiveReactions tbf, everyone is "words away" from whatever their choices, the choices of others, the choice of their partners, the position they were in/or led to be and so on, plus the variance of life... well, that's just life, given the world is different, with a bit of a different set of rules/laws, but still, not too different from what we had back in the so-called High Middle Ages) However, I would say, there is hope, happiness, moments of levity and so on in the world that is presented, they are just not made as perfection that couldn't be touched, an ideal which could be achieved and would make the one who achieved it immune to the horrors of the world.
