- Edwin features two small-body acoustic guitars in this video. This is a comparison between Taylor GS Mini and Cort AF510 OP acoustic guitars. These two guitars are great travel guitars due to their small size.

I like the Cort's warm and unique tone for it's price. Taylor has richer, clearer and brighter tone but really expensive compared to Cort because of the materials used. If you'd compare higher model of cort to this Taylor, it may be a fair fight.
Taylor has better sound compared to cort by few margins but at the same time the price of taylor is high, cort is reallyyyyy good for it's price!
Taylor is at least 5x more expensive. Comparing a BMW vs Hyundai. The Cort did pretty well although the Taylor sounded better to me. Taylor just a little better, not 5x better.
My advice, buy a Cort but practice 5x more. Skill>>>>guitar
Spot on advice there Parrot.
k dad
Cort is a great brand but i don't understand why the people in my country are choosing yamaha f310 over this awesome instrument. It doesn't make any sense
@@bikashth8539 yamaha f310 is a bigger guitar. Cort’s equivalent is ad810. Yamaha has brand name advantage.
you should be comparing Chevrolet Corvette (not BMW) vs Hyundai... as Taylor is an american brand while cort is south korean...🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵 somethin like that!
I think the string on the taylor is expensive and the cort is not ,,,next time try to compare same string and see what's the best😊 Btw. It's good video thumbs up👍
Same hearing here as well. If this review use the same expensive/ good quality strings and made the same test comparison and we will know how does it really goes. I have a new bought Cort guitar today with this model but the crisp elliptical sound vibrations of mine is not the same as what I am hearing in this review video. I guess his gauge size is a super light type of string in my opinion and feels of sound vibration.
Yes i think so, we need a konfirm
definitely right here
The factory fitted strings on that model Cort here are coated OEM D'Addario. Pretty sure they are coated 80/20 Bronze EXP12s .13-56 mediums, but perhaps may have been EXP11s, whose stated tonal characteristics regardless are "deep, bright, projecting". I didn't like them, their *feel* particularly. Swapped over to my known and loved D'Addario uncoated phosphor bronze EJ16s .12-53 lights, and it was like a totally different guitar. Warmer tone, far superior feel. I run with them as regular fitment now. The uncoated phosphor bronze strings stated characteristics are "warm, bright, balanced tone". I agree. Whatever, they suit this instrument.
I love the warmth of the Cort, but you can hear the clarity on the higher frets with the Taylor. A lot better quality sound... but also more expensive.
I agree with you.
I have a Cort Mini and a Taylor Baby, with the same strings (Elixir Photoshor), the result of my comparison is far fight, but when I think in the price comparison, I think Cort is an amazing kind guitar.🎉
Thanks for sharing!
I will choose cort..it’s my sound preference suited for my voice and range
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
As for myself I prefer the sound of the Cort it sounds much more smother and has a full mellow tone. I don't know how the strings feel or play but my Corts fingerboard is as good as any Martin or Taylor. I will keep what I have. :PLAY ON MY FRIEND, PLAY ON"
Firstly the Taylor has a solid top while the Cort does not hence the brightness from Taylor. If I had enough money Id buy a Martin, Gibson or Taylor dreadnought. Though I have six good quality Cort dreadnoughts each tuned differently, that I love.... You can never have enough guitars.
Watched many of your videos, Edwin. Thanks for making these. I'd say this was an interesting video, considering the price range of both guitars.
thanks for a nice comment, and thanks for watching my videos.
No contest unless money is no object. Cort. There's little between them performance wise to my ear, but a great deal between them price wise. Disclaimer: I own a Cort AF510 OP (batch manufactured in 2017), but it's neither my only acoustic nor only brand of guitar and whilst I love mine, my view is pragmatically objective rather than emotionally subjective.
IDK what strings are fitted to the example of the Cort played here or how old/used they are, although the colour suggests them standard fitment and neither old nor worn. The Cort comes fitted OOTB with OEM D'Addario 80/20 coated phosphor bronze. They felt like 13-56 (D'Addario EXP12s) to me. After wearing out my initial set, I changed to one gauge lighter strings. Uncoated phosphor bronze D'Addario EJ16s (12-53) which really bring out the tones of this guitar and sound so much warmer and more balanced to my ear. I also prefer the feel of the uncoated strings. They work really well on the AF510. Sure you have to change them more frequently than coated, but hey, they also about half the price per set.
In summary, the Cort is a fabulous little guitar that punches way above its price point. For the money, it's stunning, and with Yamaha out of the entry level small Folk/Concert body market, its absolutely a no contest prize to Cort in that price point vs performance arena. No frills with a plain rosette and binding, BQ, QC and finish are all superb, beyond expectation at this price point. Love its scooped bridge and impact upon fretting string tension. Neck profile, fret size and string spacing all work for me as well.
The AF510 wouldn't be the weak point in any person's playing nor present any barrier to learning or the average person's progress for several years IMV. Only caveat. I'm not sure I'd recommend it as a *travel guitar* without keeping it in a hard case however. Its weakness if one could criticise it for those who care about such things, is that it's exceptionally lightweight, and the open pore African Mahogany body would dent very easily. For use around the studio or home, that doesn't present the same issue.
thanks for sharing you knowledge and opinion on Cort guitar
@@Edwin-E Thanks for doing the vid Edwin. You did a good job.
My Cort, i took out the saddle, sandpaper the bottom off about 1.5 mm or so, adjusted the truss rod. My friend said it plays better than his Taylor! But it doesn’t sound like a Taylor. The wood seemed more vibrant and responsive in his Taylor but I am happy with my cheap guitar. I play better though😂
Yeah, you can't really say which one is the best. It really depends on your personal preference. Enjoy playing!
Great video! Would love to see a comparison of the Taylor GS Mini and the Cort Little CJ!
I hope I could have one to try.
I enjoyed both but prefer the warm sound of the cort in the strumming section.
The taylor for the finger picking. It sounded clear and crisp.
thanks for sharing your thoughts
No comparison to my way of thinking..
Taylor’s are my favorite guitar..
I have compared to Martin, Gibson... Taylor is my favorite...
I know it’s a Ford vs Chevy vs dodge thing guitar style...
Recently bought an 814ce Taylor.. never been happier...
It’s always nice to see these comparison videos done... thanks for posting. 😊
thanks for a very nice comment.
How is the string spacing in Cort AF510 OP ,I s it good for fingerstyle playing?
siento que falta desajustar un poco el alma de la cort , siento como si trasteara
Sentí lo mismo
Both are so nice and sounds Good!
yeah
A very good, clear comparison.
Glad you liked it! thanks.
Hey edwin thank, i think the cort sounds warmer
thanks for watching
Not a bad comparison, considering the taylor is nearly 4x the price of the cort
Wow that Taylor is something. I am flabbergasted. Thank you for the video.
Hello greetings, excellent video! Between the Cort Earth 50 and the Cort AF 510, which one has a better acoustic sound? Hugs!
I have never played one, but based on specs, I think Cort Earth 50 is better due to solid top sound board and a little bigger body (7/8 Dreadnought).
Comparing within the same brand, usually the price will tell. More importantly, if you can play as well as Edwin, it doesn’t matter which one you buy, you will still sound good
They both sound great but that Taylor must be so much nicer to play
Whiteys Workshop Why? I think both play the same. It depends how you set it up and the strings you put. I have a similar cort. Cheapest of all my guitars but most comfortable to play. It does not sound as good as my bigger Seagull guitars though but Cort is cheap enough to be brought everywhere and you dont mind other people toying with your guitar. I have the electro version. It doesnt sound that great plugged in.
@@parrotbrand2782 I have several acoustic guitars both e-acoustic pre-amp fitted and pure acoustic, one of which is the AF510 OP which as you can see from previous posts, I've owned for a number of years. I now have a Fishman Neo D soundhole pickup in mine. I've tried a few soundhole pickups over the years, but this one sounds best in this guitar. Even more impressive, like the guitar itself it's performance belies its price. Stew Mac thought highly of it too.
The ignorance and snobbery in that presumption. 0.o
Bonjour, le son de laTaylor me parait plus brillant, pour la Cort j'ai l'impression que le son est un peu étouffé...
Plz one more comparison Taylor Gs Mini vs Saga Sf600 gce
thanks for the request, unfortunately I don't have Saga guitar. Maybe in the future if I can get one. Cheers!
Hi Edwin, what brand and model of microphone you using. Thanks
see my video description on the info about the camera/mic that I used in recording. Thanks.
Taylor has more rich sound! Cort sounded dull comparatively. But looking at price, Cort did exceptionally well.
thanks for sharing your opinion
how is the action of cort AF510 OP and Taylor GS Mini?
Both are good
Cort Af510 better or Sfx Mem op better ??
AsslamuAlaikum sir
Which one is better Cort ad810e OR CORT mr 500 e?
mr500e
@@Edwin-E thnx Sir
MR500E solid top and better quality but more expensive
Hi ask ko lang po ilang inch po yung Cort AF510??
wala na sa akin, so cannot measure. Scale length is about 25inches I think, but the body is small.
Taylor Gs mini sounds bright
Coft AF510 sounds warm
thanks for sharing your opinion
The Taylor gs mini is more on metalic sound. The soun of strung was heared. Unlike the Cort Af510 is sound more acoustic. And the sound of wood was there.
thanks for sharing your opinion
Sir.
Saan nyo po nabili sa Pinas yang Taylor GC mini nyo?
hindi ko alam sa Pinas.
taylor gs mini is 3/4 size sir?
nope. it's a bit larger than 3/4. examples of 3/4 guitars would be the baby Taylor or Martin lx1e
You should've used the cort af510 M instead of cort af510 OP. The full mahogany body sounds way better. To me at least
thanks for the feedback
It sounded like the cort has heavier strings. I wonder how would it sound like if they both have atleast the same set of strings.
they have both light gauge strings set.
What about Cort ndx50?
Who wins cort vs epiphone dr100
they are both good entry level guitar
Which is better the MR 500 E or the Earth 100?
MR500E is a bit higher model than Earth 100.
I used Cort same model and the sound is the same. But I don't mind because I'm just a beginner.
Cort is a good guitar
@@Edwin-E Cort is a very GOOD Guitar....
Pienso que taylor tiene más cuerpo despues de todo... Suena mas calido, a cort le siento mucho brillo
habría que ver que cuerdas tiene cada una
Do you have the same strings on each ???
nope. Stock strings.
I would like to know what the presenter thinks about both. A little info goes a long way. Esp for people like me thats just new to the music scene. *future reference.
Taylor GS Mini definitely much better sounding guitar between the tow. However, but for the price, Cort AF510, is a great small guitar alternative.
Taylor is 4x more expensive but sounds about 4% better.
thanks for your comment and opinion
Are you deaf? Please clean your ears ✌️
Same strings Sir?
no. both stock strings
Wla ng iba taylor ako pero depende kung anong model xa kung mmhalin pwd 90k!
thanks for sharing your thoughts
Cort stand no chance against Taylor, but with its price, can be consider
thanks for sharing your thoughts
taylor 0:48 1:50 3:06
cort 1:19 2:26 3:39
Does it have truss rod?
yes, both of them have truss rods
@@Edwin-E Does AF510M-OP also comes with a truss rod? I can't find exact specifications on their offical website.
Yes
Mini vs Full size? 🤔
Cort AF510 is small bodied guitar although it is a little bigger with GS Mini.
Taylor all the way.
why would you compare an expensive Taylor to cheaper Cort. Not fair...
thanks for the feedback
Cort sounds like a toy guitar, Taylor a bit better. To get a good sounding small body you have to put more cash down.
thanks for sharing your opinion
@Bsharporbflat
The representative of guitar snobs everywhere. ROFL.
Iqbal Gumilar also used a Cort before Baton Rouge gave him a guitar.
@@saltyjo7514 iqbal gumilar uses a cort sfx e which is a solid top.. much better than this
Gs mini is far better despite the size
thanks for sharing your opinion
First
Easy taylor the one
thanks for sharing your choice
Omg dat taylor
thanks for watching.
The Cort sounds just bad to me. The Taylor is amazing but then I have never heard a bad Taylor. Even taking account that the Cort is basically a 000 sized guitar, it still sounds worse than your average Jasmine dread S35 which is right now $97 USD on Amazon.
thanks for sharing
Taylor
Thanks for sharing
Suenan igual 😮😮
thanks for sharing your opinion
Taylor sounded GREAT,,, Court sounded like a beginner guitar,,
Thanks for sharing
ROFL ...what a snob.
Cort foi superior ao taylor concerteza
GS Mini is a lot better, but a lot expensive.
Caution! Don't buy guitars like Corts, Seagull, Maton, Godin, Fender, or Gibson's, etc in Malaysia. There are a lot of fakes sold even in their authorize store
Thanks for sharing
Taylor is Better
thanks for your comment
Tesla vs CHRYSLER
nice analogy
That Cort sounds as if its made of a cardboard. But, Taylor is overpriced, if compared to Harley Benton's Traveler E and CLP15 ME, both selling for less than 100 US$ (and both having decent built-in piezo pickups)..
thanks for sharing your opinion
Hahahahah... i agree that the Cort AF510 doesn’t have the best sound. It is OK for non professionals playing for fun. I have this plus a more expensive Cort and some Seagull guitars. People tell me my Seagull guitars sound good and also praised my Cort Grand Regal guitar...
No one ever praised my Cort AF510 for its sound. Not even once. But I still like it. It is nice and comfortable to play. I can bring anywhere and wont feel hurt if it gets a little damaged.
@@saltyjo7514yea, cort works perfectly as an instrument, but there are better sounding laminate guitars.
ребята, первая гитара 18 штук стоит етить его
Да пошли они нахуй тогда
taylor wins
thanks for sharing your opinion
Eeeeee la taylor es bastante más cara...La marca Cort hace modelos de mejor calidad con maderas sólidas
No contest, compare cort to yamaha. Cort not good enough for taylor guitar.
thanks for sharing your opinion
Damn, Cort sounds like shit compared with Taylor. But to be fair, the Taylor is four times more expensive.
thanks for sharing
Cort sounds like a tin can.
thanks for sharing your opinion
you cant compare a $700 guitar with $120 guitar.
Why not? This comparison can also show or justify if it is worth it to buy a more expensive one.
Suenan chido ;v
thanks
