these fans have a jet effect, the smaller fan create a jet flow of air that sucks a larger flow thru the center that rivals a larger standard bladed fan.

Listen everyone in the comments every other "bladeless" fan has blades that are just hidden in the base so don't say it isnt bladeless cause even Dyson and other company's have fan in the base

... ok now glue the FAN to the botton.
The hot glue melts on a hot day when you need the fan most & with the moisture in the air slowly seeping into the cardboard will be a breeding ground for bad bacteria & mould. Sure get terminally ill from a temporary school project that looked ok for a while but built by an adult. I might go & stick a fork in a power point.

You don't get it, those fans are also less efficient. Any time you're adding extra friction to the equation you're losing efficiency in terms of the fan's ability to move air.
Also not all bladeless fans use bladed fans in their base. Many work by ionization.

he meant as in its bladeless as in no blades on the opening, that's essentially what other companies do.
Dyson has a high power fan in its base
"The only reason for hiding the blades is for safety" - yeah, no it isn't. The fan in this video works nothing like a dyson bladeless; there's plenty of 3d printable designs that do though... The key with the dyson fans and similar systems is the air moving through the hole is a much *much* higher volume than the air your fan moves; that's how you prove that it works. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrainment_(hydrodynamics)
@Terrible Debacle The Dyson doesn't work exactly like this. This just channels the air through the slits. The Dyson's ring is actually shaped so it uses inducement and entrainment to pull air through the hoop. This doesn't pull any air through the hoop at all, so the hoop in this instance is pointless. The shape of the hoop and the angle of the air outlets has to be aligned.
Fascinating, but how does it work????? How does it generate moving air?????
A fan in the base draws air in which then goes through the ring which then draws extra air in through the inner ring. Sadly this specific fan doesn't use the coanda effect to make it more efficient.

Use 2 fans, 1 big and 1 smaller diameter. You will have stronger air. You can watch how the wind tunnel work. It is very difficult to describe.

It's neat seeing the different materials people use to make these. I'd never bother, but it's still interesting. I can't believe how stupid people are for paying so much for Dyson's version. Dyson didn't break any ground. The Venturi and Coanda effects are well established. Gotta hand it to them though. They get people to pay hundreds for a simple fan that costs almost nothing to make.
