      Turns out that was wrong, but it still reconnects faster than 8bitdo.

    I really wish 8bitdo is going to make an xbox like controller in the future, combining the 8bitdo quality and the xbox buttons/sticks layout would result in the best controller ever!!!

    I hope they make an 8bitDo pro 3, I would like HD rumble and impulse triggers, It would be so cool to have more feedback during games especially like monster hunter which I think this controller is perfect for as the back buttons let you move the camera while attacking and the d-pad being up means you can claw grip to move the item menu/radial menu in rise. I would also like more accurate motion control, they are great and I often use them to help me aim in games that have it but I notice a sensation that I could only describe as if the center of movement in the game slides around. I would also like some form of trigger stops, while I don't play shooters on my switch that often, It would help a lot when using it on PC or really any shooter game.

      And on top of these features, i would also like to see a swappable ABXY buttons since 8bitdo sells these controllers as a multi platform controller and it would be awesome to always have the correct button layout for switch, pc etc just like the gamesir g4 pro

      Haven't Nintendo put a patent on HD Rumble? That said I wish it could wake the switch. :(

      @@Niborino9409 I was not aware. I guess there is the option of buying both controllers and moving the HD Rumble motor to the 8BitDo. Granted that is not something I plan to do or of expect others. If someone did do this I wonder if Nintendo would go after them for just modifying there own controller.

    Getting my Pro 2 Friday. Will be my first 8-Bit Duo. Going to pair it with a Linux laptop via Blue Tooth. Right now I am using a wired GameSir controller with a USB extension cable and it works fine..but on the go a Bluetooth controller like this is really needed.

    I disagree with the offset stick variant being necessary. The symetrical sticks are commonly loved by the emulation community.
    This controller should be more hyped than even the Dualsense. User-replaceable batteries (with the ability to use AA), the ability to store and switch between multiple profiles on the device, amazing hardware compatibility (most console controllers either work or don't when used outside of their own ecosystem, the ability to choose between 4 modes is awesome) and just the general build quality of this put it head and shoulders above any other controller on the market. It may not be the fanciest controller ever made, but it does everything it needs to do, perfectly, and no amount of adaptive triggers of NFC compatibility can make up for that.

    The 8bitdo Pro 2 is the best replacement controller for my Switch, becuase my Switch Pro Controller had suffered from a technical issue which is analog stick drift, so I was lucky to get an 8bitdo Pro 2 this Christmas in 2024. And also another thing I love to ask you: Is the 8bito Pro 2 very responsive for ePSXe? Because I was wondering if it could be a perfect Dualshock substitute controller for playing PS1 games.

  • @brightsuperstition

    How durable are the buttons, sticks, triggers and d-pad on this thing? You reviewed it in April 2021, now it's September 2021. Have they remained durable or have you experienced issues like analog drift?

    • @bobdotexe
      @bobdotexe  3 года назад +2

      I use both this and the pro 2 often, both work fine, all buttons work, and I did not notice any drift.

    I can't get how to set douple buttons to the macro paddles in Tekken 7, it doesn't work!
    When I set e.g. Y + A to P1/P2 in Tekken 7 only one of these buttons will be used in the game!! So what did I wrong?? ... I've bought it only for Tekken 7 for a better D-pad than a PS4 Dualyshock and the programmable buttons but at the time I'm just disappointed 😥

    One thing I’ve never seen a video mention on these controllers: the 8bitdo pc software is shite. It fucked with my sn30 pro which isn’t even compatible, and when I uninstalled it, it blue screened my computer.

  • @ia3106

    I got the 8bitdo pro 2 but the rumble feels significantly weaker than switch pro controller. It’s so weak that when I’m getting shot on Apex Legends I don’t feel the rumble at all. What’s your experience like?

    • @ia3106
      @ia3106 3 года назад +1

      @Monotech2.0 I have the rumble setting on max (in ultimate software) and sadly the rumble is still very anaemic compared to the switch pro controller.
      I have actually had like 3 replacement 8bitdo pro 2’s but I have had the same issue on each one. I’ll probably keep it and just try to get used to the weak rumble since I can’t find any other controller with back buttons and rumble. It’s too bad really as otherwise this would be a very solid controller - but definitely not perfect either way since it definitely has some build quality issues amongst other things.

    Good review but, btw a big BUT, it's a Nintendo Switch oriented review. There's no test using bluetooth on a pc/notebook, also the 6-axis (based on people comments) seems not to work on pc using x-input, also the delay of control yada...yada.... Still a good switch review.

    • @bobdotexe
      @bobdotexe  3 года назад

      Thats a fair assessment, however this video is more designed to show the improvements made by the pro 2, and is mostly a follow up to my review of the pro+.
      This i mostly focued on the switch to save time,
      I've found reviews over 10 mins have a much lower retention rate, and i wanted to present as much important information in the least amount of time.
      I feel that with this condensed format, i can pick a few important topics to focus on and explain them in detail.
      Rather than trying to expain a much wider range of topics, but only having time to gloss over them.

    • @JamesCSmith-vp1xb

      x-input just can't support 6-axis on pc because of how the drivers work im pretty sure, if u want 6-axis on pc you have to use the switch mode and then pair the controller with your pc in switch mode. then, you can enable nintendo switch controller support on steam and map the 6-axis to whatever you wanna use

    Dude I bought one of this and it’s complete garbage compared to the original. It constantly disconnects from my PC for no obvious reason, a issue I’ve never had with the first 8Bitdo pro controller. It also just feels clunky in my hand compared to the original despite seemingly having the same design? Idk, this thing has just been a nightmare for me. I know I likely just got a defective product but the level of poor quality control is just really a turn off. OH I also liked how the original had concave/convex buttons :/

    • @bobdotexe
      @bobdotexe  2 года назад +1

      Did you buy from a 3rd party seller on amazon/ebay? either way, I'd say send it back.
      The feel of the build quality is almost identical on mine, as for the buttons, you can even mod it with snes color concave/convex button, and it will look even better than the pro+!
