SSDs might not be the most exciting component in the world, but it's important to get your SSD choice right and doing so can free up some cash for your other components! What SSDs are you guys rocking in your builds?
I think this is a great video we don't know much about SSDs and this is a good way to inform us about them, now the operating system can influence them
Well, a bad operating system can affect many things. I installed a free Windows and that affected my memory, so it's better to look in safe places like BNH Software, which at least served me well there.
avoid the kingston nv2 at all costs. that SSD has serious problems. once you fill it halfway, it randomly slows down HEAVILY sometimes making the PC unbearable to use.
I will buy 3 ssd´s nvme. one to boot drive and the others to games, but should i install the boot drive in chipset or the pcie nearby the cpu, They all use gen 4 speed, but i thinking games will slow down the fps on the boot drive when they are installed on same drive
Don’t install games on the boot drive. It will be a pain in the butt trying to find your games in a boot drive and move them over to a different ssd or hdd for long term storage. I always seperate my games and my OS
Honestly bro, your videos are amazing and so informative. I can’t count how many hours of your videos I watched while preparing to buy and build my PC. (I finished about a week or so ago). thanks for the amazing and extremely informative build guides and videos. (Also I have a question. I’m preparing to potentially build a pc for my mother. She doesn’t play games, but she does a lot of productivity work. (Editing, photos, printing, website stuff etc). I Was planning on getting AMD’s 7 7600x or 7 9700x and just using integrated graphics. Would it worth it to get Corsair’s gen 5 ssd or just getting the 990 pro (4TB) drive.
The 9000 series is better at productivity from the multiple tests I have seen. The 990 pro 4 tb should be fast enough unless if you want her to have the extra speed of the corsair gen 5.
I don’t see NO Western Digital drives on here. Most specifically the SN850x and/or the the budget friendly SN770 Not to mention zero mention of Dram cache This graph is pretty much meaningless now
I do want to point out that the mp 44 regular (non-L) seems to have speeds similar to the lexar nm790, you might want to check that one out! (and its less than $70 for 1 tb).
literally just bought one last night i went with a MSI M482 2tb hopefully i see a manger difference cause the one have is a msi one but the speeds are slow when i download stuff also thanks for info great vid
you recommending the P3 plus...? it's only slightly cheaper, but QLC and sub par performance is just not worth it I think you have the older rev of P3 when it's TLC, there's no way the QLC P3 out performs 990 evo
Do you have a gen 3 or gen 4 ssd? Will you buy a 5000 series gpu? Do you need the extra speed? What size ssd will you buy? You can get a gen 5 2 tb for a little more or may cheaper then some gen 4 2 tb ssd's. I upgraded from a gen 4 2 tb 990 pro and a gen 3 2 tb 980 to a 4 tb gen 5 crucial t705 and a gen 4 4 tb 990 pro. I wanted the extra speed and much more space so I won't have to upgrade for years. I never fill up the ssd's and keep as much space free as I can. I can definitely notice a bump in speed and I only use my pc to play games.
can you rate this gaming pc im going to get? the case is a Phanteks xt pro ultra, and the mb is the MSI Gaming plus wifi ATX AM5. the cpu is the ryson 5 7600x, the ram is the corsair vengeance 32 gb 5200mhz EXPO ddr5. and the storage is seagate firecuda NVMe 530 gen 4 1TB. the psu is the ASUS 850w gold+. and the gpu is the RTX 4060 8 gb is there any super bad bottleneck on this pc? im gonna play minecraft, fortnite and rocket leugue.
I’m new to the PC building thing, I want to build a PC with an AMD 7 7800X3D but I don’t know nothing about specs and all that for MB, RAMS ETC…. Any advices? I don’t want to spend more than 2000k
ryzen 7 7800x3d is the best for gaming however the ryzen 5 7600x will handle any game the difference is like 4-8 fps and its half the price of the 7800x3d. look thrue alot of videos about compatability and the best and worst. example for ram u dont want something that has a hight latency they are called cl40s. for mb maybe stick to a b650 but also look at videos like the worst b650 and the best. the b650 aourus elite ax v2 is great. gpu u should go for something like a 4070 super, 7900 gre but for more premium u can go for 7900xtx or a 4080 super. ssd look at best for gaming or whatever floats ur boat. there are a few like 990 pro, sn850x, crucial ones aswell. case u need to be careful so u get enough fans and cooling aswell as storage for components. psu try go for a gold rated or above that can deliver minmun of like 750 watt up to 1000 based on how much ur cpu needs. modular psu is a plus cuz it kind of speaks to the pc if that makes sense and know what is wrong and what to do. passive psus makes it so the fans are less active if they dont need to be also a plus. im going for the MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 850W cuz it has 850, has alot of good reviews and is both passive and modular. for cooling u can go aio but a pearless assasin 120 SE will cool it for waYYYY cheaper. BIG TIP do ALOOOOT of reseach before u buy so all the components are of similar grade and compatability
for the mobo get a b650 or x670 if you want something a bit more premium, a good b650 is asrock pro rs. for ram, 32gb is the best and any more is really only for video editing, rendering etc. look for at least 6000mhz, and a cas latency (CL) of preferably 36 or less, closer to 30 is best. for power supply, 80+ gold and depending on gpu, search [gpu] minimum psu to get recommended wattage.
@megadeth8592 thanks heaps for your reply mate. Brand new 3080 for $350 Aus and the 7600 for $200 thought the prices where to hard to give up thanks ahain
I prefer fury renegadate special for TBW. In the rest, try KC3000 special for the price and his performance. SN850X is good too, but I do not see in his chart. He push in front that ssds for what he receive money.
Who cares about speed? These tests are pointless. SSD is more about how long system will survive on it. If you plan to keep games there and nothing important, you buy the cheapest disk on the market with the size you want and that's it, because it's enough anyway. And after some time it will collapse anyway. What is this video

I imagined but I'm going to investigate a little more about this to be better informed.

NV2 only, right? Are the other models like Fury Renegade, KC3000, and NV3 also affected?
@@pangeranrio0112Short answer: KC3000 doesn’t get affected, same with FireCuda
i have an nv2 about two months old now and used up almost all the storage space... maybe itll start to show its aging after quite some time
@@pangeranrio0112 Everything else is fine but the NV2 and NV3 are dogshit
Not me watching when I’ve already bought an SSD
Haha thanks dude :)
I ordered a Crucial P3 Plus 2 TB for a future build earlier this week myself.

Maybe because difference to Lexar NM790 is small, MP700 Pro SE is monster compared to it XD
no meantion of dram? from what i've researched, dram can be largely beneficial for gaming
Not “largely”
Glad i pounced on a pair of Lexar NM790s with the heat sink for $235 the other day. I've seen where they have been cheaper in the past but oh well.
you never fail to give me the best info
Thanks!
I'm surprised there's no mention of SK Hynix SSD they are priced similar to the P3 Plus but also have a dram cashe
Keep an eye out for one of our upcoming build videos :)
I bought a adata xpg sx 8200 pro for 60€ , in my country with that money you can buy just a Kingston NV 2 (1tb both)

You'll only have problem if you play AAA games at 1444k resolution with max setting, otherwise it's pretty flawless build.

No
