- Today I learn how to write with my non-dominant hand. Whether you're a righty or a lefty, it is a great skill to learn, and will improve the overall quality of your handwriting.
On Tell me World, I learn random skills, while documenting the process to encourage people to do the same. Subscribe to never miss one!

With my non-dominant hand (my left hand), I instinctively write a near-perfect version of my right hand's writing, except mirror-image. I can (somewhat easily) make myself write neatly (and forward normally) with my left hand, but the handwriting of my one hand doesn't look like the same person wrote it. In school, I used to take notes mirror writing with my left hand, and do homework with my right hand, at the same time. It drove the teachers nuts that I could do both at once, but it saved me from having to take a lot of homework home.
Trivia: Leonardo da Vinci did the same kind of mirror writing in his notebooks. He was naturally left-handed, and could write forward with his left hand; it is sometimes thought he wrote mirror writing to disguise his ideas.
That's impressive Anne. I don't quite have the level of coordination to use both at once, mainly because they don't write at the same speed. Also, I encourage people to give a shot at living 24h using mainly their non-dominant hand, it yields very interesting results.
@@TellMeWorld It wasn't often at the exact same time, but the two papers would be on my desk at the same time, doing homework (on the right side of my desk) during lectures, and breaking quickly to take lecture notes (on the left side), as needed. The really impressive part was that I was able to keep a textbook AND both papers on my desk at the same time.😄 But thanks!
This channel is way to underrated
Aw thanks!
@@TellMeWorld I thought u had like atleast 2 mil subs
Saw your comment on Mike's channel, good luck!
Thanks Joshua!
I am here while you have 2590 subs, that will be impressive when you hit a million in a year
That is so nice of you. Hopefully I can continue growing.
bruh cool video. im right-handed and i can hardly hold a pen/pencil with my left hand xD
Thanks!
Incredible hands man !
Thanks!
After watching this video you made me start wondering about the possibilities of writing with my non-dominant hand (I use my right hand for writing), I never actually tried to train a bit to write at least in cursive, also I used to do drawings with my right hand before learning how to write, so when I was learning how to write at school I already had the input, but perhaps I could try practicing on how to angle the pen by mirroring my right hand, and also by getting a lined notebook (your method seems a good way to start)
Happy you felt inspired Cristian. It's why I make these videos. A lined notebook will definitely help and constant practice will make things great. It's a skill that can be picked fairly quickly
Wow
I can wright with left and right but mostley right but lefty i learned when i learned wrighting
Nice!
@@TellMeWorld idk how i learnes it but its special cuz its like mirrord when i write with left
