Lmao yess
So relatable! Lmfao 😂
Too right. And you pretend you picked the same answer as they haha.
I felt that hard😂😂
lol
I was wrong. I thought if I bought a bunch of charcoal grey shirts I’d get Matt’s biceps. Meh still worth it 🤷🏻♂️
omg😂😂
Try wearing them harder.

He got my subscription with that lmao, loved it.
Mistakes are always learning opportunities. But I can't lie, it hurts everytime.
It really does - often I find myself berating myself over what I get wrong. It can be hard to move on
Ugh yesssssss
So true!!!!! Mistakes and failures both are the best teachers but can't deny that it hurts everytime.
It doesn't hurt at all
I believe the hurt and pain are all worth it when it was the very reason why you changed and never do it again. Also, surround yourself with good people and honest ones who will correct you. Mind you, just because we know it already doesn't mean that we can't learn from it anymore.
Matt's such a minimalist, he doesn't even add Ads in his videos
Well ads are showing up in india!!!
@@muthulakshmisengottuvel9151 no
He actually has ads now in his videos, he also mentioned that he'll be adding ads, but he always outs them at the end --and this includes his branded videos.
As a viewer who loves Matt, and wants to support him but don't gave the extra money to help out, this us great.
I really hate intrusive ads in the middle or at the beginning before I even realize if I like the video or not. This way, I think Matt still lets us choose whether or not we want to watch the ad (supporting him in the process) or not.
it took 6 minutes for him to simply say "so yeah, I've bought some dumbbells"

Yeah no that's brilliant.
"In fact, I've actually met both of them"
That was very clever
I KNOW!!! A+ material
The fact that he just glasses over that without any snicker is an obvious sign of several takes or Matt's complete lack of actual humor. Pure gold.

I’ve been going through a hard time with the quarantine and it’s really been making me think about what I’ve been doing for a living - and your videos _always_ come on and remind me that I still have a lot to work on. I’ve been making so many mistakes lately and I’ve been so hard on myself. It’s nice to be reminded that everyone makes mistakes and that I have to learn from each of them to lead a better life. Thank you for the video, Matt!

Dude. Your videos are so amazing. Every time I watch I always learn something so relevant to my experience of self improvement. It's challenging when you go through a lull in your motivation. These videos always help me to regroup and get my shit together. Thank you!
The part where you talk about the job stuff hit home man! Great video. Thanks for the constant encouragement.

Can Netflix give this guy a series?! His videos are brilliant and so well thought out, and he always does a ton of research. They are actually informative and motivational too like what. Most channels like this could never. I always recommend this channel to people who are feeling stuck during quarentine.
Also the Bob Ross feature I love it
Love this. Keep adjusting and trying things to find what works best for you.

I’m actually enjoying following your workout routine. Been doing it since you have released your video and everywhere I go. Easy to carry and exercise
Thank you for making this video just when I needed it the most. Perfect timing!
Great points about making mistakes and how they’re a crucial part of learning and growing. Also some really great points about motivation, and being critical of the reason as to why we do different things. Why do I stay at this job? Is it because of safety, and the fact that I’m generously, economically rewarded, or is it because I truly enjoy it?
Thanks for the amazing content, Matt!
Side note: If anyone is more interested, I have a video going live on my channel thursday, where I talk about instrinsic vs extrinsic motivation (Finding something truly meaningful vs being motivated by external reward), in relation to dealing with failure.
Hope everyone who reads this has a great day!
I was so pleased to hear you reference the 5 D’s. 😂 great video Matt!
Man. Big props to you for giving us all these beautiful lessons. You're one of my biggest inspirations. I've been wanting to start RUclips again for a long time now. Aside from the self improvement stuff, you also inspire me to create. And as I said, same goes for the self improvement stuff.
I had a manic episode these past few days and was about to fall on a depressive episode. Glad you posted this on the right time. I was literally giving up doing anything today. My morning started bad and I'm just glad I decided to check on RUclips. You just inspired me to continue on with my personal projects. As always, thank you, Matt! I really appreciate your content :)
“Living a life of purpose, of adventure” damn that sounds nice :’)
It’s honestly such a powerful feeling when you’re secure enough to admit your wrongs and ambitious enough to know you have the ability to improve

This is literally the most solidly crafted RUclips video I’ve ever seen from the thumbnail and title to the continuity of the whole vid. Amazing filmwork!

This video was spot on Matt. My husband and I wait for your videos and take each word you say very seriously. We make notes and have long discussions on what you mention and then have profound epiphanies after. We are also minimalists now after incorporating a lot of changes in our lives and we still have a long way to go. We have deep gratitude to you for how you have transformed our lives in the past two years.
Matt I just want to thank you for creating art that brings value to my life. This video hits so close to home for me. Being an overworked banker myself every day feels like I'm watching from inside my head a really boring and really long movie just playing in a loop. Continue doing what you do!
Mistakes are a fact of life. It is the response to error that counts.

Great words of wisdom, Matt - thanks for the encouragement! It's not easy admitting when you're wrong, and it's not easy letting others see your mistakes/flaws. But honestly, those are often the things I find most valuable when I'm learning/ watching youtube videos: seeing the mistakes others have made. Oftentimes that's the most encouraging to me - to see that others also make mistakes. Thanks!

I love this video 😭 you touched on two things that I really struggle with; the gym and career / job. I really believed that you just had to find one thing and stick to it and if I don't then I'm the problem and I force myself through it. I didn't realise that I should rather take a step back, realise I was wrong about what I thought would make me happy and help towards my goals and then rethink and plan everything. We always have a choice.

I really enjoyed this video, so often I feel like some guy whose interested in improving himself but never puts in the work to do so, but this just felt like such a simple and easy way to improve life by being able to admit when you're wrong, not letting it affecting you so personally and shifting your mindset to a more positive approach to failure. Thank you Matt!
2:12 "And if you haven't found it yet, keep looking".
I feel you got some inspiration from Steve Jobs Philosophy, is this right? Btw this is not a criticism, just curious to know because it sounds like that famous speech from Steve.
I hate treadmills and I hate running because it makes my knees hurt but as a teen I loved bike riding. So now I wake up every morning and I ride the exercise bike for half an hour to knockout my cardio. To make things fun, I dance with my upper body while cycling with my lower and I enjoy myself so much more while I do it.
I’m not a dancer & I barely have rhythm but I’ve fallen in love with the feelings of escapism associated with doing the exercise. This is what keeps me wanting to come back everyday and exercise more. There’s something really special about putting in a pair of earphones, turning on some great music, and blocking out the rest of the world for a short while. It’s almost like meditation. I’ve learned that sometimes you just have to do what makes you happiest and not worry about what anyone thinks. Stronger legs, a toned midsection, and feeling a sense of happiness when I look in the mirror each morning is mere icing on the cake! Thanks Matt

Your videos are so inspirational. Thank you!!
Well low self confidence has helped me admit even the mistakes I've not even committed
3:50 I feel and fear what this guy was talking about. As someone who is young and just entering the work force, I'm often scapegoated and guilt tripped, mostly by older people who are confident in their "wisdom", and I'm pressured and pushed to give into this "wisdom".
So I'm constantly torn between thinking I'm foolish and believing in myself and being capable of anything other than following instructions from others.
mikah ong Hang in there. I’m still reaping the hazards of being scapegoated, guilt tripped, and taking bad “wisdom” when I was probably your age 15 years ago. Trust yourself and do what you need to do to get through it. I know you can!
This is incredibly relevant to my personal experience right now, thanks for putting into words what I needed to hear at the moment.

When it’s an 8 minute video posted 3 minutes ago, so you know that everyone is watching at the same time and no one has finished it 😏
"Yes, there are some people who are happy with their jobs. In fact, I've actually met both of them. But the overwhelming amount of people that I talk to work for a paycheck and that's it." You might be seeing selection bias, here. You live in the worlds of creative arts and self-help. Those who find you and talk to you may often be, by definition, the kind of people who are discontent with traditional and looking for the creative, new, better, and life-giving. But those who are already happy with their mainstream work would likely not intersect with you. Thoughts on this?
I think it was a subtle comment on how many people never try to get out of the jobs they don't like because of fear to admit the mistake they had made.
I think the word "happy" is the wrong word in this case because happiness comes and goes. It's whether the person is comfortable/satisfied with the job or not. If the person feels uncomfortable for a long time with the job then the person will eventually quit or be fired (lack of motivation or focus will be noticed by your employer, manager, or whoever).
I was kind of thinking about this the other day! The people who are happy with mainstream work doesn’t see the creative work as their career but they see it as a hobby.
