I was hoping that would be demonstrated in the settings.
Thanks for the compliment! 1. No, but they tell you if you sign into your google account, it’s a better overall experience. 2. Connecting to home WiFi: try looking under Settings, and then Connections. There should be a WiFi button then that you can click on, locate you’re homes WiFi name, enter the password and connect. 3. Not that I have seen yet, typically there is, but there was nothing under Settings that allowed me to do that. Thanks for watching!
Do any of you guys know if I don't have the Chevy hotspot subscription activated can I still use android auto via Bluetooth or do I need to hook up my phone via USB ? Thanks in advance.
Excellent video with a ton of information. But I wish you had spent some time trying to use the USB media in the audio options. Either I am totally clueless about how it works or the option is virtually useless. And I think it is useless. Can't search for specific song/artist/album. Can only scroll when vehicle is not in motion. My 2017 Colorado handled USB media much better and it is now 5 year old technology.
We didn't cover it because of exactly what you have already figured out. Its not user friendly and its very old tech that most folks aren't even using anymore. Thanks for watching
@@TwoGuysandaRide Thank you for taking the time to reply. I like to listen to old radio programs on long road trips. I have thousands of these programs. They are not available on Spotify, Apple Music. etc., etc,., etc. Also allows me to access my music without paying a subscription to some third party service and use my data in the process. I personally don't feel this is "old tech". It fills a void for me. :)
Thanks for the question. The warning indicates one of two things, either the AEB has falfunctioned, or it has been turned off. Try turning on AEB and see if it goes away. If it does not, it could also be the the front pedestrian braking has been turned off or is malfunctioning. Try turning on the front pedestrian braking and see if it goes away. Now if neither of these options works, then more than likely there is a malfunction in one of those two systems and I would suggest taking it to the dealership for them to fix. Thanks for watching!
Ok i have a question hopefully you see this if i want to see the entire screen, meaning that i dont see the analog watch on the right side of the screen? Is that possible? The only time that the screen is full is when you open google maps!

Thanks for the question. I don’t think your doing anything wrong. I would suggest taking it back to the dealership and let them fix it under warranty. Short of that you could try resetting the infotainment system back to its default settings to see if that works. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. According to chevys website, looks like in order to get google maps you would need to purchase their “unlimited Access Plan” for $39.99 per month. This includes unlimited data use as well. You might be able to use google maps in the infotainment system, if you hook your vehicles WiFi to your phones hotspot. Of course then you’re using your phones data. Another great option is just use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay (depending on what type of phone you have), you use google maps (on your phone but shows up on your infotainment screen) for free (except data charges). The only thing I dislike is why in the world Chevy put MPH on left and RPM's on right. Literally every Chevy truck I've ever been in the MPH was on the right and RPM's were on left. Other than that I can't really find anything to complain about. I could if I was really nitpicky (like not having a tune knob for the radio) but overall solid beside that one mistake.
@@TwoGuysandaRide I'm just big on ease like I'd much rather turn a knob to tune then have to punch out all the digits of the radio station every time I wanted to change radio stations or have to fidget with the screen a lot. But the new Tundra is the same way, they don't have a tune button. So it appears a few manufactures are overlooking that. Not sure if you guys have reviewed the new Colorado yet, but I think it was an ok remodel. I think they could of used the space better honestly, for example the trailer brake control. It's positioned way too low and is in a awkward position. The refreshed Silverado had a standalone home button next to the digital home button on the screen but they left it out on here when clearly there's enough room to add one. The biggest thing is the fact that all the headlight controls got moved to the screen is a huge mistake in my opinion, they've taken out the ease of a knob or button. I just can't see where they added stuff to justify the removal of the headlight controls to the screen Plus a few of the components are put in weird positions like I said above. They've just added a few extra steps which otherwise could of been done instantly with a turn of a knob or push of the button. Just disappointed with the redesign on the interior parts. Hello, Just got a 2022 RST. I believe I’m supposed to be able to control the volume on the left hand side of the steering wheel with the toggle. But I got nothing. I wonder if I’m missing a setting?
Good question. The volume control is actually mounted on the rear of the steering wheel, much like a Chrysler or Jeep configuration. Can’t remember which side is the volume (I think it’s the left side) but then the other side also has buttons mounted on the rear of the steering wheel to change stations Hope that helps and thanks for watching. Ps. The rotary button on the left is for cruise control. To set, increase or decrease the speed.
Back again! So the RST model I have doesn’t have the adaptive cruise control, I was under the impression it did. I was told they do come equipped with the buttons and setup and I just need a chip. Do you know anything about this? Or have you heard something similar?
@@mikecarmo5551 yes, we’ve heard this from several brands due to the continuing chip shortage. Many popular vehicles are being built and sold with less content but supposedly can be updated/added at a later time by the dealer once the chips are available.
In certain screens there is, say in navigation. Look for a small white tip of an arrow to the right side of the smaller window. If you click it your main screen becomes full screen. I believe the only two windows that it will work for are navigation and media. With a newer update of Apple CarPlay you should be able to do it for that item as well thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. Try looking on the infotainment screen under Settings, then scroll down and click on System then look if there is a button called units. Click on it. In there would be where you would be able to change tire pressure units. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. As far as I know, although I have not tried it, you can watch any streaming app such as RUclips, Netflix etc on your chevys infotainment screen. However, every method requires additional items for it to work. Try looking up mirror boxes for iPhone or android devices (you will also need a couple of cables that allow your phone to hook into hdmi. Using an Apple TV is also a possibility although again it’s going to require some extra cables and adaptors. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. You start by setting it up via Bluetooth, when you’re all done pairing, it will pop up a message asking you if you want to use Apple CarPlay, at that point click yes, and your done. Thanks for watching!
How do I turn off my text message content from being shown on the screen? I'm ok with the notification, but don't want everyone in the car to see what the message says.
Oops sorry about that my mistake. What are you using for the text messages, just the Bluetooth connection to your phone, apple CarPlay, or android auto?
@@kevine1037 ok if you go into your phones settings, go to your messaging app and click on it. You should find a place where it says “show previews” , might need to scroll down the page a bit, (at least on an iPhone that’s what it’s labeled). Turn off previews or set to “Never “ display then it should not show a part of the message, just a notification and who it’s from. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Once the free trial expires there is always a "pop up" type buy more on the navigation screen... real annoying and if that "ad" is up you can't change the radio station with the buttons on the steering wheel.
Thanks for sharing that info for our viewers. You’d have to think there would be a way to turn that off, but I’ll have to do some research on that to figure out if you can. Thanks for watching!
@@Boobtube. not positive, but I would try going through your GM account or your OnStar account. Once logged in look for a place you can manage Notifications. Once there see if you can turn off Notifications for whatever pops up on your infotainment screen. That’s all I could find.
Question! I purchased the $14.99/month access plan but when I click on the maps icon, it is just a blank screen without the streets. I try to login to the Google account and it says cannot connect to Google services.
Thanks for the question. First things first, in order to use the google maps you have to be signed in to google otherwise you see the blank screen that you saw. So one thought is that perhaps the vehicle does not have good internet reception so that it can sign in and access the internet? If it doesn’t try moving the vehicle to another location and try again to sign into google. The plan you purchased allows extra features within google like live traffic, weather, updates to google itself etc. The map should work without that plan as long as you signed into google. Another thought, when you first got the vehicle and clicked on anything google run (like maps) it should have given you a screen with a button on the top right that says “accept” meaning you accept google terms of use. If you did not click accept on that screen could be why it’s not letting you sign in. So if that’s the case try just clicking on the map icon and see if a login screen with “accept” on the top right appears, if it does click on the accept button. If none of those work, I would use the onstar button in the vehicle to contact them and ask them to give you step by step directions for signing in which you can do while their on the call with you. Hope one of those ideas proves helpful. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide thanks for the reply!! I got ahold of onstar and was told that I needed to purchase the data plan. So I did that and now I was able to sign in and the maps works finally. Thanks for the help!
I have one. It is OK. It is probably as bad as texting trying to run it though. When I figure out storage, I am gonna by a pre-80s car with analogue that I can work on. When this breaks it is going to be a nightmare. Also, the car has an electric shifter that cannot be shifted out of park when it is dead. Unhandy. We'll see (yeah, I am old and suspicious of all this stuff). Also, I have some problems with GM giving me critiques on my driving style. Sure, they say they don't share the info. I am waiting to start getting messages from random people talking about the info.
Thanks for the question. Yes. If you plug in a route, then click on settings while viewing the map you can toggle that option on or off. Thanks for watching!
I have had my 22 LT for about 3 months and have to tell ya the connectivity feature at least for me kind of sucks. Can't use GOOGLE to make phone calls or change songs on Pandora when my JV-7 phone is connected cause I need a data plan. Never had that problem with previous Silverado's. Matter of fact google pretty much tells me I need a data plan for everything even when my android auto is active. Pretty frustrated with the truck to say the least. Also my dash will go black for extended periods of time but the radio will keep working although you can't see it. The dimmer switch for the dash doesn't work half the time when I need it to. My radio volume will go full max. on occasion and I have to physically pull over to the side of the road, shut the truck off, and open a door and go through the procedure 2x for the radio to return to normal volume. Also on a cold start when putting it in drive after backing up the truck down shifts to super low gear and throws you forward. That was a big beef of mine with my last truck but was assured that problem was fixed. Some other stuff wonky too like constantly loosing air pressure in my left rear tire which happened consistently on my 19 also. Just some food for thought on this vehicle. For almost 54k you would think I'd at least wouldn't need a data plan. With my first oil change I'll have a list for the good folks as the dealer ship.
Hi, I'm trying to help my father-in-law fix an issue he has with his Chevy Silverado Screen. But I am stumped at this point. He used to press android auto on the screen and use the map for navigation, and watch the analog clock on the side, but now for some reason, some other app is showing. I have been trying whatever I could to come up with a solution. I can't even see an app in android auto that is remotely close to the analog clock. I'd appreciate any help Thanks Lena
Thanks for the question. The screen on the right side has 4 different widgets that can be viewed when say android auto or Apple CarPlay is being used and the analog clock is one of them. Simply swipe up or down on that small screen on the right until the analog clock appears. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide Thanks for your response. That's the case for every other app (screen). But for Android auto, I don't have 4 widgets that I can wipe up and down. Just two that I can swipe right and left. Two random ones of the ones in Android Auto.
@@lenium01 I’m guessing that it has to do with either an update he did on his phone or the infotainment system. You might see if this is true and then try and roll back to the previous update and see if that fixes the issue.

I believe the only two windows that it will work for are navigation and media. With a newer update of Apple CarPlay you should be able to do it for that item as well thanks for watching!
Great information, and my google home mini responded to all of your "hey google" prompts
Awesome! Thanks for watching
good to know all the gadgets, thanks
Happy to help
How do you set the native Google Maps (not android auto from your phone) to dark mode all the time?
Thanks for the question. You should be able to go into settings in navigation on your infotainment screen and make that change. Thanks for watching!
How do I change the tire pressure from kPa to psi?
Thanks for the question. Try looking on the infotainment screen under Settings, then scroll down and click on System then look if there is a button called units. Click on it. In there would be where you would be able to change tire pressure units. Thanks for watching!
What can I do to be able to watch RUclips in my truck screen I have the 2022 Chevy Silverado Texas edition
How do you clear search history from navigation?
Thanks for the question. I would recommend a factory reset to defaults. Thanks for watching!
Thank you, very helpful.
Your welcome, and thanks for watching!
Excellent video sir 💪🏾
Why thank you very much, glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching!
How do you connect apple carplay wirelessly? Mine just stays shaded out
Thanks for the question. You start by setting it up via Bluetooth, when you’re all done pairing, it will pop up a message asking you if you want to use Apple CarPlay, at that point click yes, and your done. Thanks for watching!
Hold down on the home button and it switches to CarPlay. Nice shortcut
Thanks for sharing that and thanks for watching!
How do I turn off my text message content from being shown on the screen? I'm ok with the notification, but don't want everyone in the car to see what the message says.
thanks
@@TwoGuysandaRide Thanks? You didn't answer my question
Oops sorry about that my mistake. What are you using for the text messages, just the Bluetooth connection to your phone, apple CarPlay, or android auto?
@@TwoGuysandaRide Haha, no worries.. I use both.. bluetooth when Android Auto is turned off
@@kevine1037 ok if you go into your phones settings, go to your messaging app and click on it.
@@TwoGuysandaRide have you figured out a way to remove this ad?
@@Boobtube. not positive, but I would try going through your GM account or your OnStar account.
You’re very welcome! Glad you got it working and thanks again, for watching!
@@DukeFan11 Good news!
so what good is the access plan if you don't have the data plan?
I have one.
Old school still rocks! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching
Forward Collision system on. Off and the Dashboard shows all the time wanna take it off
That’s just the way Chevy has it set up. Nothing you can do to change it I’m afraid. Thanks for watching!
Does google Maps let you see satellite view?
Wow, sounds like quite a long list for service to address.
Hi,
I'm trying to help my father-in-law fix an issue he has with his Chevy Silverado Screen. But I am stumped at this point. He used to press android auto on the screen and use the map for navigation, and watch the analog clock on the side, but now for some reason, some other app is showing. I have been trying whatever I could to come up with a solution. I can't even see an app in android auto that is remotely close to the analog clock.
I'd appreciate any help
Thanks
Lena
If it goes blank or stuck in bowtie, any handy ways to reset it?
Thanks for the question. You can locate the fuse that it is connected to, pull it, wait 1 min then put the fuse back in. However, since it’s still under warranty I would suggest letting the dealership fix it. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide For the record, I turned it off and went down to try an odd reset of turn off dome light and open door for 5-15 mins, but just being off did the trick....needed a bit of time as a quick stop and start did nothing. Seems to be happening to a lot of people with the Silverado 22 Refresh.
@@in4mix Well great, hopefully other viewers will be able to use your experience. Thanks for letting us know!
When will they fix the sound distortion?? 😔.
Thanks for the question. You shouldn’t be experiencing sound distortion. I would think about bring it back to the dealership and have them repair it under warranty. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide ive been doing it for the past 3 months . Just got it in april. First time i was able to buy my own truck my self. Its almost paid for. It's the only prob i have. Put bed liner. Ceramic paint. Leather seats. I wanna put more sound but gotta get my truck fix
DO you know how to remove the radio ?
No. Id seek help from an aftermarket stereo shop or the dealer if you want to do that. Thanks for the question
