Josh has become a staple for me for college football coverage for the simple fact that he not only brings his opinion with an unvaryingly even-keeled delivery, but also always follows it up with "and here's why I feel this way", which seems to be missing so much these days from sports coverage. Such a refreshing change from the scream-fests and being told what to think! I don't always agree with Josh, but his arguments are consistently well-reasoned and well thought out, and I almost always leave with more knowledge than I came with. Kudos, Josh!
Finally! Finally a sports media personality that understands being an Ambassador of the game. Your Playoff Coverage topic was spot on. I hear over and over about teams being "irrelevant" from sports casters. They don't qualify that with "irrelevant for the National Championship". I think they actually think those teams are in fact irrelevant. Growing up in Nebraska brings more meaning to the game than winning a Natty. It's a shame that those "sports professionals" know nothing about the culture they are commenting on as being irrelevant. I'm sure other teams have their own role in their communities as well. Thank you.
The ASU situation reminds of Butch Davis and UNC ten-ish years ago, they looked like they were about to climb up when the academic scandal went public.
What's the difference between ASU breaking the rules and College Basketball Coaches buying players on FBI wire taps? If nothing happens to College Basketball Coaches, why should anything happen to ASU?
I am a diehard Alabama fan but I have allot of respect for Herm Edwards. He turned ASU around. It saddens me that he took the wrong route in recruiting. Sad.
Earth shattering scandal for an up and coming Arizona State Football program. Swept under the rug for SEC bluebloods like LSU. Oh how the system just makes sure it maintains the status quo.
Lol, didn’t see Josh’s coverage of the LSU scandal last fall? He definitely didn’t sweep it under the rug, there just haven’t been any updates recently.
@@NickOnFire1490 not blaming Josh at all I'm just saying that the LSU scandal is fully out there and no punishment has been given to them whereas I'm almost certain that sanctions are imminent for Arizona State. This has nothing to do with Josh's coverage.
I agree. Alabama and Georgia do the same. I've heard several times Bama and Georgia have given recruits up to 5 and 6 figures but nothing happens. One day it will though you can only get away with it for so long 🤷
Michigan is getting ready to cancel Bo Schembechler and Fielding Yost.. that is Michigan’s football History so what stories will be told during Michigan games. Maybe they can talk about how mediocre they’ve been since Loyld Carr retired. Michigan football is about two seasons away from becoming Nebraska 😩
College football is, to me, watching Wednesday Night MACtion, or 2-6 Syracuse vs 3-5 Duke, as engaged as I would watching Georgia vs Alabama or Notre Dame vs Clemson. It's about 9am beers on Saturday morning, it's about 5 screens showing 5 different games, it's about tailgates and crowd chants, it's about watching historic colleges battle each other in the biggest way possible. If a National Title is the end-all, be-all for you, then you're sorely missing out on what CFB is all about.

The days u remember about college football are over. The fans now believe that if you aren’t first then u are last. There is no going back. Playoff expansion is the only way to stop opt outs and keep fan bases engaged
Hey Josh, what is the most heartbreaking way you have seen a team lose a game in college football? For me, it’s the auburn vs ole miss game when laquon treadwell had the fumble at the goal line while at the same time receiving a season ending leg injury. Also, thanks for producing such an awesome show. Much love from here in NC
Personally: 2015 OSU loss to MSU with a field goal as time expired Cold, rainy, travelled 900 miles to go. It ended the season my guys should've easily repeated in the saddest fashion.
Bigger question for this season; an hypothetical one. If Clemson loses to Georgia, and loses a conference game, and the American winner runs the table, will the playoff committee rank the American team 4?
I will answer that for you. If Georgia beats Clemson and then loses to Bama you already know the loser of the Bama vs Georgia game will get the 4th spot. That is how it is set up soon as they allowed 2 teams from the same conference and espin will start planting that seed 2 weeks before the game is even played
It’s because Arizona St got players they had absolutely no business getting Jayden Daniels for one he otherwise would’ve went to either of the California schools same goes for Merlin Robertson none of those people should be their without something going on the poly kids of course because their DC used to coach that high school
I do question your assessment of Demetrius Robinson. Basically everyone involved in Georgia football that I watch or listen to has a verrrry different opinion, and for good reason. The guy appears the textbook definition of a Diva; he turned both of his recruitments into a reality TV show, even made a video about him "coming home" when he transferred to Georgia like he was Lebron returning to Cleveland. And then when he gets there, he can't get on the field because of the word is, and was, that allegedly he either couldn't or wouldn't block, and that Kirby falling from the Saban tree wasn't about to let someone who couldn't block be a starting receiver at Georgia.
Too many bowl games is what made bowl games irrelevant not the playoff. Who cares about the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl or the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl?
I agree with what Josh said about the playoff and how it is and has been covered by ESPN my only thing is how do you fix it. It has been promoted so much as the most important thing that its almost like trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube especially now that they are expanding the playoff and making more fans bases who may not have cared much about it in the past care about it more because now they feel their team has a chance.
I think the only reason ESPN is changing their tune has to do with the fact that the playoffs are being expanded. They lost a lot of revenue west of the Mississippi as those schools weren’t really a factor in the playoffs. ESPN wants to maximize their profits because ignoring half the country wasn’t working out.
Screw the bowls. Anyone remember how they started? Pasadena chamber of commerce wanted a way to draw tourists to Pasadena. Voila! You get the Rose Bowl. Other chambers followed suit until TV jumped in and now you have 30 meaningless bowl games. Scrap the legacy system and start anew.
Money is ruining College Football. At this rate I can't see any reason not to just go ahead and pay players and just make it the minor league system for the NFL. They're halfway there now.

If they make all transfer portal kids sit out anywhere from two months up to half the year.
