I never played the original CD-i games, but quite enjoyed the remasters. I've been excited for Arzette ever since it was anounced. Absoluetely loved playing this game.

The only problem for me is that if you like exploring and collecting everything... you'll become OP and break the game QUICKLY. As soon as you get the reflector ring, many boss fights become broken. I kid you not, I beat the SECOND TO LAST BOSS by standing in the center and holding LB. All of his attacks just reflected back at him and he died. Side quests also result in the Chainsaw Sword, which makes your sword attacks DOUBLE in damage, often resulting in insta-killing everything. Then you get the glide boots, which basically results in flying across massive parts of the areas and skipping tons of enemies outright. Then the armor HALVES the damage that you do take, further trivializing any damage. The enemies simply just don't scale alongside all of this.

Impressively, the original Zelda CDI games still have better "cutscene" animations than a recent game.

I feel like the OP at end boss problem could be easily fixed by patching in some damage caps on the boss' health bar, so that you don't go past the trigger for the next cutscene in a single blow.

Great concept, cool music, but the gameplay needed more effort. If they made a good platformer / metroidvania, this would have been a classic, not a niche meme thats forgotten in a week after release. You can just watch all the cutscenes on RUclips and save yourself the time and money.
I think game developers should focus more on game design and less on sprinkling in their politics.

Game looks so bad like the games it was copied from. Had they improved on the combat and pushed the threshold gameplay wise like an evolved Zelda II it would have been better. Cool what they did here but it's so niche.
