I remember when I fell in love with Meryl. Way WAY back in 1978 she did a mini series called Holocaust. I was fascinated. Remember, back then, there was no internet, no way besides local newspapers and (if you were lucky) the TV Guide and other magazines that were delivered to your home to find out about your favorite actor/actress. I tried to keep up with her career and freely admit that I haven't seen everything she's done, but what she HAS done (while raising 4 kids and having a lasting marriage!!) has been spectacular! Love you Meryl!
I remember that mini series back then and seriously could not see another one after that one. It really hit me too hard after watching the part where naked kids running and those German Shepard Dogs chasing them - it broke my heart to see this made me realize what horror children faced besides the adults.
I love people like Meryl Streep who care so passionately about what they do and excel at it.... and yet, at the same time, are humble enough to be able to have fun and laugh at themselves a bit. Great interview!!! ....★★★★★ …..Hᴜɢʜ….TU…..ツ
Meryl is divine 💙 She's definitely one of my heroes when it comes to acting. Her passion to this field is just amazing 💙 A woman of substance, an icon 💙
Streep is nothing less than the baby boomers Garbo, period. And we're luckier than the first group, because ours didn't declare "I have made enough faces," and duck into seclusion at 36. When a script is mediocre, Streep's presence alone makes the resulting movie still essential; when the script is first-rate, adding Streep makes for a work of art, worth revisiting for generations to come.
I agree!! Oh, Meryl, that just makes me love you even more. I also think that acting is better than before!!! Sure, there's more bad actors out there today but that's just because there's more movies. I'm 100 % sure that the actors, the good actors today work way harder than before, in the 1920's and 30's and 40's and even 50's... Because there's more competition also. Or I dunno what it is, I just agree :)
It broke my heart bc my family(ex-family,they’ve disowned me)spoke out against DJT! They called her “ughly as Mrs doubtfire” amongst other names! Bc of Trump,I lost my “family!”😢
Always dreamt of Meryl playing Maria Callas in a true mega Hollywood production that will re-create the Immense Operas Callas played in the 50s.. it will be the most difficult of all.. but it is worth the try and Meryl worships Callas
Why do Highschool students from back then generally LOOK like older adults? When I look at my yearbook all the students look like kids. Yet we were all the same age during the time. Meryl Streep looks like she could be a teacher in her yearbook photo! lol
I just don't like the part about superhero movies...They are simply adapted from comics which have been around for decades, so it's a part of culture as well. Just the other day I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy. Not only was it original in its own way, but it was also hilarious. So, a good movie in my books...I think maybe the older generations simply can't appreciate these kinds of movies.
As much as I love/admire her; like us all we can contradict ourselves; she seems to look down upon Hollywood for making movies geared towards younger people but isn't she still part of that process?
The original Superman movies, the Tim Burton Batman movies and the first Spider-Man are some of my favourite films of all time and I have them on DVD. And yet I totally agree with Meryl. I don't think she is saying these films should not exist at all, just that there is an imbalance because these films generate tons of money through merchandise and also teenagers tend to be a little less discerning perhaps because they are more into thrills that start to feel cheap as we get older and gain more experience... again not all children and teenagers but many. Personally I would love to see a few less massive blockbuster films and a bit more independent original work done. And brilliant comedies like When Harry Met Sally or the Big Sick!
@ coolida..I just watched it again... it is something scary...there must be this kind of "maddness" to her..I mean she doe's all of these intense roll's..I would hate to get on her bad side...sheesh.
Streep is an amazing actress, indeed. Thatcher was a misanthrope that sold out the British people for cash and power. Sad that Streep speaks so highly of her.
If I hear one more f*cking person praise an actor who plays a real life figure with "They didn't just portray the character, they *became* the character"...
I can't believe she would say "the acting is better, even from the classic movie days"- she is so superficial, and what a clout monster. She wasn't even Margaret Thatcher. She was Meryl doing a British accent.
How does this woman NOT have more than two Oscars?!?! Meryl Streep deserves a reward just for existing!
She got 3 by now
@@khsl1134 yeah for sleeping with Harvey W
Because its Hollyweed
For sure the best female actress of all time.
True her name is used as a metaphor for great acting. I don't know anyone else's who is. 'She's not Meryll Streep" (for a lousy acting job).
This lady puts herself fully into every role and becomes the character. I love her acting!
What a lovely, open, honest, and revealing interview with lovely Meryl Streep.

She won her third Oscar last year for the Iron Lady!
I love people like Meryl Streep who care so passionately about what they do and excel at it.... and yet, at the same time, are humble enough to be able to have fun and laugh at themselves a bit. Great interview!!! ....★★★★★ …..Hᴜɢʜ….TU…..ツ

tall32guy She supported Roman Polanzky
She just goes from strength to strength.
Well sometimes the strength of stupidity intensifies over time, especially with this woman.
Meryl is divine 💙 She's definitely one of my heroes when it comes to acting. Her passion to this field is just amazing 💙 A woman of substance, an icon 💙

Meryl Streep is a badass.
Great!
i love meryl :)
And she was 55. Wtf she looks like she’s 38!!
Her latest is called "Two" and it is her most deceptively brilliant of her long career.
Why do Highschool students from back then generally LOOK like older adults? When I look at my yearbook all the students look like kids. Yet we were all the same age during the time. Meryl Streep looks like she could be a teacher in her yearbook photo! lol
11:14 *Streep.exe* has stopped working
Maravilhosa atriz
As Thatcher she is So British! I am waiting already for Jennifer Saunders' parody.
kadeczka Margaret Thatcher was an idiot. Thousands of men lead millions.
Refreshing
muito louca pela meryl!!!!!!!!
A Lady!
60 minutes: the 15 minute version
I don't like Meryl politically but love her as an actress she is one of the great ones.
They do not ennoble stars with 'royal' titles. They are ennobled with knighthoods which are 'aristocratic' titles.
I just don't like the part about superhero movies...They are simply adapted from comics which have been around for decades, so it's a part of culture as well. 9:35 SMH....Who do you think built 90% of the products you use daily? Men
+Chris Rembert no it's ok because she's a woman. She's allowed to be sexist because she's "oppressed"
hi hi Jim
She slapped Christopher Hitchens ass.
godess.
And what have you done with your life?
She isn’t that mysterious ! LOL 😂
Streep is an amazing actress, indeed. Thatcher was a misanthrope that sold out the British people for cash and power. Sad that Streep speaks so highly of her.
Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, etc why don't people learn from her?
Мерил Стрит, напоминает квадрат Малевича, - все чего-то пытаются там увидеть...
но она пустая, даже больше, - она просто попсовая
lol I noticed that.
He sounds like he needs some water
Impressively bigoted? You've got my interest, please elaborate.
This guy sounds like he has marbles in his mouth. 😂🤣
Intro made me cringe. As if somehow our actors are an oppressed class that only get a measly Oscar.
Jesse N It’s just a fact that in Britain they give legendary actors titles, it’s not that deep.
Gioconda is it a snake? no that's anaconda :)
No! What'you mean? hahahah bitchy streep???? love u woman u!!!!
Tf u mean bro
If I hear one more f*cking person praise an actor who plays a real life figure with "They didn't just portray the character, they *became* the character"...
"Is that a snake?" - honest mistake? not likely..
As an actress? Love her.
As a person? Impressively bigoted.
Ahaha, like in Devil Wears Prada and Doubt.
called Weinstein a god.
Love Meryl but Thatcher is hated by the Uk's working class
I can't believe she would say "the acting is better, even from the classic movie days"- she is so superficial, and what a clout monster. She wasn't even Margaret Thatcher. She was Meryl doing a British accent.
Iron Lady was awful.
Her danish and italian accent sound exactly the same. So overrated.
you're mixing... danish and polish yeah... sound the same... now her italian accent is quite different from those two.
Nope
Ricardo Costa ?ababAabab
