She is so right to say that. I think that is why l love Graham Norton's show so much. People can say what they want or not respond if they choose to. Graham is so good at interviewing people. We don't get talk shows like this in Canada. This clip was great. I have never seen, "The Devil Wears Sprada" now I plan to go and buy the dvd. Also I am being introduced to actors I didn't know but after seeing them on the show I start to look up their TV shows or movies, and get them on dvd.

Dear Meryl, we Italians do put carrots in homemade tomato sauce: minced carrots, along with minced onions and minced celery, are the base for "soffritto", which we use for start making Bolognese and Ragù. So, don't worry this much :)
She could speak a bit of Italian and she did used to live with John Cazale! I'm almost sure Mamma Cazale showed her how to make ragu

@jadedone6900it's the whole carrot that's the problem and if you do put it in, at least take it out at the end once it's cooked. Meryl is American and Americans have no idea, even Italian Americans have no idea. They do weird things in the kitchen over there that proper Italians wouldn't do. Like saying a "pepperoni sauce" ! Who even cooks a pepperoni sauce, as if it's a pizza?
