Josh is great player. Comparing him to John is like comparing an apple and orange. They are both and great but different. Who else could fill johns shoes and do the vocals. Big fan of both.
Long time fan here, since the 90's. But the outro from "Goodbye Angels" live is one of the most powerful moments in their entire catalogue. Massive energy. Great concert! Thanks to Josh Klinghoffer for being himself and helped to keep the band alive for ten more years. John is back now and they seems happy together again. The world will need RHCP happiness and chemistry after all this pandemic. Peace and love!

Great to see Josh finally finding his place in the band. He sounds so good in this concert. No point of comparison with John now. Each one has their own style. Josh is a worthy replacement just like John was to Hillel.

I must give props to josh. He improved a lot and now you can actually hear his guitar. I love the solos he played here. Did not think i would ever say that because i was always really critical of him. I would LOVE to see a live performance of them now. The band seems to really enjoy playing together now. John is on another level for me but they have completely different styles and sounds, and you just gotta respect josh.
He totally upped his game..I had never seen these recent performances but he really was on fire with the getaway tour. Glad to see he started to give with the band and was able to put on some great shows.

One of the greatest live bands ever in my opinion - they put on excellent shows! Josh seems to have great chemistry with the rest of the band! I am very impressed!

Great crowd! Great band. Met Chad last year at a drum clinic, I took a painting over I'd done of him, he was such a nice bloke. Always scared about meeting idols, but he's so down to earth, got a photo and he autographed a Slane DVD for my son. Bravo Chad
I'm kind of still young for this, I know John Frusciante was a beast on the guitars. He is. But with watching Josh playing his (John) parts, he is doing a hell of a job for that. Long live RHCP!!

i left the u.s in 2008 and haven't followed rhcp as serioulsy since then. i'm watching this and am so glad they're still rockin with the same energy as the stadium arcadium era. and man, josh is a worthy inheritor of the position he's filled. i can't believe these guys still rock this hard. i'm 28 years old and already tired just from rockin out to the intro in the comfort of my crib
I remember watching this when I was 9 years old on the TV with my parents and my 2 sisters who were 6 and 8 ( they weren't Interested in them) but I was obsessed with them and I remember talking about this gig for weeks beforehand and I remember this was the first time I'd seen them do around the world with Josh and when Flea did played the opening baseline I remember getting very excited great night.❤
I would never thought that there could be a man capable of playing like this a Frusciante's song but I have to admit that Josh Klinghoffer plays like a funk monster. Being a friend and play-mate of Frusciante, as well as being, obviously a great guitarist is the reason that is possible :) Just great!
What a fucking year that line up was, Chillis, Foals, Two door, Biffy Clyro, The 1975, Macabees, Best line up of the 2010's you ask me. Still in awe of that year, blessed to see it.
That is something i have not could achieve. The Getaway has some great songs but i don't find it really fantastic. I had that feeling with I'm with you. Despite everybody say some bad things about it i really enjoy a lot of songs of that album. Something that does not happen with The Getaway... i' m gonna try to listen it more to see if i find that feeling....
All the songs of The Getaway are amazing, it blew me away when it came out. First in 2011 I'm With You and now this. I hope they'll keep delivering like this.

I was there at the time and the atmosphere was amazing, it was packed, no one moshed as everyone just stood shoulder to shoulder and admired the music especially after the incredible flea solo
Now THAT'S crowd interaction! Brings me way way WAY back to when I saw RHCP at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans in 1992 on their Lollapalooza tour just inches from realeasing their Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik album. What a time that was. Great to see their longevity spanning generations. Good to see a FUN band playing great music and not taking themselves too seriously!
I was born in Mother's Milk era but really became a huge fan around By the Way. Chili Peppers are one of the greatest bands ever. I'm almost 29 years old and they are my favorite

They still have so much energy and chemistry after all these years... Saw them back in ‘06 with Queens of the Stone Age, and to this day, seeing probably over a hundred different shows later, they remain one of my favorite acts. So much fun man.🤘🏻
Zach Hacham Flea's face is priceless, one of their best fuck ups was during this years jazz fest where Anthony comes in early to the chorus on zephyr song (I think) and josh and flea give him the filthiest glare you've ever seen while shaking their heads 😂
You can complain all you want about Klinghoffer but let's be real, Any musician tasked with filling Frusciante's shoes is taking on a monumental amount of pressure. If you think Josh sucks then please tell me who RHCP should have taken on instead? I've personally thought about it my self and the only person who vaguely scratches that question is J Mascis. Josh has been great, c'mon he's not John, yes. However we have RHCP still touring the world, be happy for that fact.
4:37 The way Josh did the backing vocals using the melodies of the Can't Stop chord progression (Em, D, Bm, C) is so genious of him. I'd do the same thing on his place. I'm a guitar player myself, and as each day passes, I feel like I'm his brother of soul. The energy he likes to bring in the shows and records, the way he approaches with fidelity each song he is playing, cover or original, that's something I agree on the dude, and I can't find on any of the gigs that Frusciante did in the last 5 years.

Dude, Navarro was shit. He tried turning the Chilis into Jane’s, and it didn’t work. Josh’s sound has been way better. John, Josh, Hillel, Dave.

Great crowd! Great band. Met Chad last year at a drum clinic, I took a painting over I'd done of him, he was such a nice bloke. Always scared about meeting idols, but he's so down to earth, got a photo and he autographed a Slane DVD for my son.

I remember watching this when I was 9 years old on the TV with my parents and my 2 sisters who were 6 and 8 ( they weren't Interested in them) but I was obsessed with them and I remember talking about this gig for weeks beforehand and I remember this was the first time I'd seen them do around the world with Josh and when Flea did played the opening baseline I remember getting very excited great night.❤

That is something i have not could achieve. The Getaway has some great songs but i don't find it really fantastic. I had that feeling with I'm with you. Despite everybody say some bad things about it i really enjoy a lot of songs of that album. Something that does not happen with The Getaway... i' m gonna try to listen it more to see if i find that feeling....

I was there at the time and the atmosphere was amazing, it was packed, no one moshed as everyone just stood shoulder to shoulder and admired the music especially after the incredible flea solo

Now THAT'S crowd interaction! Brings me way way WAY back to when I saw RHCP at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans in 1992 on their Lollapalooza tour just inches from realeasing their Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik album. What a time that was. Great to see their longevity spanning generations. Good to see a FUN band playing great music and not taking themselves too seriously!

They seriously have incredible chemistry you can see it when Flea pumps up Chad during his drum solo. I love RHCP!
They still have so much energy and chemistry after all these years... Saw them back in ‘06 with Queens of the Stone Age, and to this day, seeing probably over a hundred different shows later, they remain one of my favorite acts. So much fun man.🤘🏻

You can complain all you want about Klinghoffer but let's be real, Any musician tasked with filling Frusciante's shoes is taking on a monumental amount of pressure. If you think Josh sucks then please tell me who RHCP should have taken on instead? I've personally thought about it my self and the only person who vaguely scratches that question is J Mascis. Josh has been great, c'mon he's not John, yes. However we have RHCP still touring the world, be happy for that fact.

I'm a guitar player myself, and as each day passes, I feel like I'm his brother of soul. The energy he likes to bring in the shows and records, the way he approaches with fidelity each song he is playing, cover or original, that's something I agree on the dude, and I can't find on any of the gigs that Frusciante did in the last 5 years.

Ok,so you want to argue or convince me in something you believe /think/like or whatever. My english is not that good, but i hope you'll understand.
First, My comment wich you replied was about how much i like GETAWAY and how good JK is, and your comment is not valid, since John never played getaway you can't compare him to Josh.
About can't stop and all the other songs, of course there is a diferrence. They are different. They play it different. Their voices are different. Is Josh suposed to play exactly the same or is he allowed to play songs In his own way?
Second, JF kinda choose JK and introduced him to the band, worked with him and wanted Josh to replace him. So he was good enough for Frusciante.
I am a RHCP fan no matter who plays the guitar. Obviously you are a Frusciante fan, while i am not. He did a great job with rhcp but i don't care about his solo stuff. So please, don't reply to me anymore, go hate Josh somewhere else.

Sometimes replacements improves a band, like Frusciante after the sad lost of Hilel. I've told that Josh is a great performer. But i can explain it like a pizza... John F. was the cheese. Even thoug you replace one ingredient with other good one, it will never taste like pizza. In a good pizza in my opininion... there has to be cheese. Sorry if offended anyone but i still think it was much better the band before. Just look at numbers: sales, views. RHCP wih Frusciante's period is the most liked and successful one... without his horrible addiction episode.
