    Good video, most important information is at 4:06. Most people don't get that 100dB can damage the cochlea in less than 2 minutes. What follows is permanent hearing loss and tinnitus from acoustic trauma. I'll rate it as a 4 out of 5. Better than most videos regarding the topic

      check out setlist.fm :) fans post them on there (its not always accurate, but you can get an idea what will be played based on the last shows)

    Generally, it depends on the type of concert you are going to. But still here are my tips.....
    1. Some rock bands use fireworks (especially bands like Queen, Night Ranger, and Judas Priest)--this has been going on in the 1970s onward--but bands like KISS (which will likely retire) will use a lot of them. Not just loud guitars, amps, and overdrive sounds. So earplugs are a must, because a lot of explosive fireworks on stage are used by such bands like KISS and some other similar bands.
    2. Some metal bands will often also use nitrocellulose fireworks which are not terribly explosive, but will be hot, so don't go too close to where the nitrocellulose stuff will be fired--if you cannot stand the heat.
    3. If you are epileptic and if the rock/metal arena or bar show will have lots of moving lights or strobes that flash a lot, consider opting out of going to that show and refund your ticket--because it could either aggravate existing epilepsies or maybe worsen them.
    Keenly, speaking about fireworks at such concerts, we had learned from what happened at low-level rock shows like the White Horse concert at The Station--on what to do if there is a fire happening at such concerts inside, whether caused by stage fireworks or whatever. The best way to survive a fire is to escape as fast as you can to the nearest exit, because if the smoke envelops you for only a minute as you try to escape, the toxic gases in the smoke will knock you out to hypoxemia, and without emergency intervention, you will die of smoke inhalation.
    Hope all of these tips help.

      1:10 mark - this lady is right - the danger of upskirting is real - so if you want to wear a skirt at such concerts - do it at your own risk! You do not want to be at a concert enjoying yourself and then have your concert enjoyment tarnished forever by a surprise violation......

      I hadnt thought about the fireworks and strobe lighting, but they are also great points to consider! In relation to tip 2, I almost passed out from the heat from the pyros used at a Mötley Crüe show I was at in my teens (after already standing near the front for 3+ hours). Also agree about exercising caution about going to shows if you're epileptic. I've seen some venues here put up warning signs if strobes are going to be used, but that's no good if you've already bought tickets and arrived at the show.
      Thanks for commenting and the additional tips!

    what ear plugs do you recommend?

    • @juniperloo
      @juniperloo  Год назад +2

      I don't have a specific recommendation (I lost the manufacturer's name for my last decent pair, unfortunately), but look for ones aimed at musicians for the best protection vs. sound quality. Like Fender do a pair for the same price as the cheapest ones on Amazon, though I haven't tried them
