11:00 Exactly. Being purely defensive is a last resort; attack as defense, includes attacking with strikes, attacking positions, or submissions. Bruce Lee "the best defense, is a defensive offense"
Your videos are literally the best white belt study guides for pre and post rolling. Figure out what didn't work, why, and and attempt fix it for next time. Thank you.
100 percent right on always moving. I looked up this video after having difficulty getting out of this position, despite always getting out of back-mounted chokes with ease. I realized that I always moved and just focused on getting of their hooks and rolling into them. Your video made me realize this applies for basically most chokes, especially looking back at this one that I had trouble with. Thank you!
Great comparison of grabbing the choking arm is like going into the fetal position to block strikes. Your just giving them time to set up the next attack
I was looking up attacking the mounted guillotine and skipped coach Brian's vid for others because it was for defending in the title. I watch a bunch of other vids and when I get round to watching this one, is the best breakdown for both offense and defense on the subject. Note to self, always watch coach Brian's video first.
Brand new white belt ready to do add much as I can. These videos are everything. Thank you for all the time and effort you've put into them. My rolls are better because of them. Cheers bro
I have an idea for you. If possible make videos for how to deal with such wrestling moves in the street, on the ground, using self defense moves and strategies. Do you know how to prevent the completion of such holds etc.?
need to add this to my def. i have people attack them all the time. i somehow get out lol i like the chin to their rib. i already do that for north south choke.
Quick question about 10:36, sir: I've seen lots of pre-emptive ground rear-naked choke counter techniques used to foil an opponent or training partner's attempt to put you in a ground guillotine choke and avoid being put in a ground rear-naked choke before you're even put in one; they're quite effective, and that there is no doubt, but is there, or are there any techniques to actually counter, or escape a ground guillotine choke once you're actually put in one, or no?
Hello brother I am just a person who watches various grappling videos to gain knowledge where I can I read your comment I am not coach from this channel I am just a follower but I am trying to be helpful and answer your question I hope it helps.. .the counter I would do if caught in a fully locked guillotine chock would be a VON FLU CHOKE....I hope my answer helps you in some way stay blessed from the uk .... ruclips.net/video/wZZz8CmxObQ/видео.html
Coach I luv your style of fighting invisible jui jitsu is very effective but you don’t see a lot of people using it sometimes even in the black belt division even though that style is really effective on beating someone better than you
You or one of your students should compete in catch wrestling. Unless, let say, snake pit USA banned you. LOL. Yea that organization is petty. I don't think snake pit Wigan is that petty. At least that what happened to Quentin Rosenzweig.
"you should be moving" love this so much I would print it in a t-shirt, or rash guard, and wear it to class
That one 13:37, my instructor did not want me to use vs blue belts.

Fukn luv this guy! I wish he was in Cali!
13:45 Guillotine counter with a guillotine. Poetic.

5 months later watching this video.
GREAT VIDEO INSTRUCTIONAL!!!
Got caught in the guillotine twice while sparring last class. With my neck now sore, looking forward to defend this attack. Great timing coach!
Love the shoulder lock.

Volk needed this
Plot twist!
Volk watched this video
Came here after Alexander Volkanovski vs Brian Ortega!
Thanks coach!! Much appreciated!!
Always great work, thanks coach.
Love the videos as usual.
9:51 it's very similar to getting out of scarflock hold down (kesa gatame)
6:07 i would love that guillotine defense video, I get guillotined a lot
This is great stuff! Thanks!
I would love to see you teach the Von Flue choke & defense 😁
Awesome!
Now THAT is the CATCH wrestling way of doing a guillotine choke( ie cow catcher). After all freestyle and folk style wrestling came from catch.
Thx a lot
Brilliant!!! I will drill all of this everyday
Amazing like always 👍
What exactly is doing the choking, especially with an arm-in guillotine?
Windpipe? Blood?
More guillotine stuff please!
Taking a page out of Wim Deputer bjj mirror concept, wow.
I don't know what that means but I have seen a couple videos of Wim Deputer and I liked his teaching! Thank you

Keenan Cornelius should have watched this vid before his fight with Gordon Ryan.

Super🤙💪
2 questions: first, how old are you? And second, can you show old man jiu jitsu techniques please?
My sensei would tell everyone be like a fish out of water when you get pinned and I notice this video is saying the same thing.
9:05, 9:45
ELLOMENNOPEEE!
How is he choking with one arm when he's on top?
Oh, I guess he's not.
Dammm you make it look so logical.. I would love to roll with you get choked while playing..
Not defense it’s applications
