That car in front that got really close is Reed Timmer. He has a video of him getting up close to that tornado as well! Pretty amazing!!!

My fascination with tornadoes dates back 25 yrs, so out of the hundreds of videos I've seen, and even though it's fairly short, this ranks up in my Top 10. Simply just cause of the pigtail cloud structure it created, and your close proximity to the moving across the road shot.
Now in hoping that no one's lives were lost or ruined, i gotta say, this was definitely one of thee' most beautiful tornadoes I've ever seen. Bravo to the brave camera guys!
Colorado does seem to produce the most picturesque tornadoes.
It may have something to do with the soil in CO. Beautiful indeed.
I think the low dew points and resulting high cloud bases are a part of that. You tend to get these beautiful long slender tornadoes beneath low precipitation super cells with good visibility.
It is actually Oklahoma* because of all of the Great Plains here, but it's okay.
No it's Colorado because of the low humidity and dew point.

The speed of rotation of that brown/red dust central vortex under zoom is incredible. It was fortuitous you could obtain such debris-free footage so close I’ve never seen anything like it.

Do tornadoes ever spawn in major cities, it seems like they only spawn in the middle of nowhere
Have you ever heard of Moore Oklahoma, Joplin Missouri or Tuscaloosa Alabama?
+Luis Macedo The majority of them spawn in relative open rural areas because the great majority of land is open land and not major cities. But of course, there have been many exceptions like Moore, Salt Lake City, etc.
yes, do a search for Miami downtown tornado. I saw it live from 9th floor of my building at work.
yea they do. places like Dallas and San Antonio have gotten tornadoes before. Flat, open, rural areas in "tornado alley" will get them more often though.

This tornado is dangerous is the sense that it's looks so... Not dangerous in this video... I feel like that becuase it's low precip, kinda lumbering and slow moving that it instills a feeling of false security and would encourage behavior way far to risky given the situation. I for instance wanted the storm chaser taking the video to get so much closer than he actually was.

I both like watching this for the beauty of these storms, and dislike it's posting as it may encourage those with less experience to try to do the same. Especially if they act like those chasers blocking the entire road at 3:51. Whoever was in the white car was especially idiotic and inconsiderate for blocking the oncoming lane and for getting out of their car. The car that pulled off the road had the right idea.
