The story of Krieg is tragic a small few doomed a relatively peaceful world to become an absolute hellscape of radiation Fallout and unexploded munitions
Worst thing of all was it wasn't like mordian where the where the rulers were cruel, Krieg was a veritable paradise and a relatively safe world to live upon deep within imperial territory then some foolish few got the idea to try and break away from the imperium and the Royal imperial commander had no choice but to turn the world from a paradise into what would happen to earth if World War 3 was to occur
They have suffered more than any other the they fought in a War for the emperor for a century(correction: 500 years! Yikes!) just so they can rejoin the Imperial once again their world a unrepairable changed suffering from radiation mutation starvation death changed them into what they are today cold blooded Warriors unflinchingly loyal to the emperor as a way to redeem themselves of their past mistakes yet there are accounts of kriegers showing some level of emotion of sorrow by past mistakes and hope for the imperium in the future truly the kriegers are a perfect example of the human conflict on all fronts of the imperium and within their own Minds

I have a dream (probably the same one the people of Krieg have) that, one day, a situation where the term "overkill" becomes even more irrelevant than usual occurs and, somehow, leads to the planet of Krieg being crashed into an enemy stronghold like an Ork Rok to dispense it's entire population to battle. Grannies throwing cups of "Grannies own brew" chemical weapons, toddlers smashing their milk bottles and stabbing ankles with them, pregnant women getting into such close combat that the baby can chip in with a good kick from inside the womb. All of them, naturally, wearing gas masks (yes, including the unborn babies).
Knowing Krieg, even if Big E came back and said "I forgive you!" That would make them even more zealous, because in his infinite generosity He forgave them.

I honestly believe that if the Emperor himself were to say, "I forgive you," to the men of Krieg, it would actually make things even worse. They are so certain of their own wretchedness that an Emperor who could forgive the vile acts of their ancestors would drive their need to sacrifice even further. He would become an even more perfect, perfect deity, and that would make their own acts against him that much more horrible. "The Emperor forgives us, but we must never forgive ourselves!" or something along those lines.
I don't know. I see these being the people that all universally become some of the first Imperial Daemons of Order, When He on Terra Truly Ascends
His forgiveness would drive them to a level of fanatics that would be incredible. Look up the Turkish Janissary. Kreig would become a world that would be feared in the darkest nightmares of the Chaos demons. Even the Necrons would list that world as... Well... A black hole.

His forgiveness would break Krieg too be sure, but that could easily be used to mold them into even greater levels of fanaticism, faith and martyrdom.
No longer would kreigers fight with misery, sorrow and a grim determination in their hearts. Now battle would be joy.
When the emperor is revived he turns to his Krieg soldiers and says "You have sacrificed more than enough to redeem yourselves and your planet in my light."

If the Emperor were to physically go to Krieg and then project himself to all living Kriegsmen including off-world guardsmen and say "I forgive you" I would be surprised if the sheer emotional psychic energy that would flood the galaxy didn't spawn a new God
A psychic vision of that would create sufficient shock in the void that it would heal the emperor.

They’ve been fighting on desperation and blind faith. Would confirming it all dissuade them or give them cause to believe even harder?
It might make them even more reckless and possibly less effective, but I question if it would break their spirit.
@@Solkard that's a hard question to answer. I guess it all really depends on the Big E handles them, really. The best case scenario would be that the Emperor would keep them on as a fighting force for a while yet, then once a certain goal has been met, he'd probably authorize them to finally start the process of healing their broken home world.
I don't think it would break them at all, but vindicate their beliefs. Now whether or not this would dampen their fighting ability, is completely speculative. But I would think it would make them better, for now they have a reason to live. Not a reason to die. But then again, this is the best case scenario.
You know that forces of Krieg are the real deal, when space marines universally regardless of the chapter, nod their heads to them in recognition...
They are the closest thing to space marines in the 40k verse that isnt augmented, grim warriors with no purpose but unceasing war

A crime, a scar, so deep and so ingrained into Krieg’s history they all now wear it like uniform. Truly, there are few things that show the darkness of the universe than Krieg.
Considering Krieg didn't end up getting exterminatus'd by some overzealous Inquisitor/Commander, by 40k standards it's a relatively happy ending

Those ships use the forgotten Dark Age of Technology to slip in. Hard to replace, it's used on Daemon worlds and worlds being consumed by the nids.

After binge-watching a lot of your videos, you became my favorite Warhammer 40k lore keeper, I think what is most striking in your voice that is kind of haunting to me is how sad you sound when you describe most human lore as a terrible loss, the conviction of their need of sacrifice, of just giving a little more, fighting a little harder legit breaks my heart, I think this other side of the coin of the sheer greatness of the conflicts is a "nice" contrast that makes Warhammer loved. Thanks for guiding me through this.

You single handedly brought back my love for Warhammer, It feels like gw is ignoring Warhammer and doing whatever it takes to earn more money instead of focusing on things like making new quality games and maybe great animations and serial shows of this great universe, I would just about to stop reading Warhammer lore when I heard about you in one of majors live streams, eversince I've been watching at least one of your vids before sleep and have never been dissapointed, great content mate.
